  • Shipping killed the deal…

    • +7

$10 shipping for almost a kilo (what I'm buying) is fine imo ….

      • +1

Agree, still a great price per kilo even with shipping.

    • Compare our prices to others out there , $70/kg plus $9.99shipping , 4 Hunters $54.99/kg plus $9.99shipping not sure how that kills a deal.

Plus this was a email sent out to our email base we had no idea until this morning it was on Ozbargain .

      Stay Tuned for future deals

Make your own for half the price.

What cut of beef do you use?

      • +4

        Silverside

        • the silverside from woolies/coles or fresh from the butcher? It has been a few years since I made jerky!

    • -1

Can literally say that about any food - but then you wouldn't use ubereats or anything would you?

      • Yep. Never been to a restaurant either.

  • Thanks bought some :)

    • Hope you enjoyed, thanks for the support

  • Bought in the last deal and highly recommend, even got bonus 200g when they were out of stock of red wine stokkies

    • @megaphat09 glad you enjoyed , thanks for the positive feedback

If you sign up for their newsletter you get a free $15 ChefGenia knife sharpener with first order.

    • Not anymore , busy working on something new . They finished now.

  • +2

I haven't tested these but going off the different spices they use I don't think i will buy it :).

For the best biltong and droewors go buy it from Tony's Quality Meat and Deli. Can highly recommend them.

    • I thought the same when I first ordered, but I still ended up going back for more :)

Thanks bru, I will try out Tony next!

      • @jimboner Happy days …glad you enjoyed and came back. Stay tuned

    • Do they ever have sales? $70 a kilo is quite pricey

      • Stay tuned

    • +1

As a Saffa I have found 4hunters to be very good - more authentic than some of the other brands. Their droewors recipe is particularly good. You will find better in South Africa at 10% of the price but this is the best (and cheapest when on special) that I have been able to find in SEQ. I hear good things about Tony’s but they are too expensive and too far away from me.

      • +1

The best biltong and droewors was at a small shop in Capalaba called cutmans fine foods. Not sure if you’re anywhere close, but the owner makes it in the back of the shop.

        • About an hour away but will check that out…

      • +1

pierrejb ….. makes my day reading this type of feedback , have a great day . Stay tuned big one coming soon.

    • @RenVilo should give it ago as jimboner he thought the same and is now returning customer.

  • How does this compare to Barbell Foods Biltong?

  • +2

All biltong looks to be out of stock

    • I saw only teriyaki jerky and honey soy jerky still available

      • @OzBarAnon @FareEvader we sent out a email to our customer base and did not know it ended upon OzBargain. Stay tuned

Grabbed the sample pack of this last time. I found the meat was tender, but there was absolutely no flavor to it whatsoever.

I mentioned it to this company and got the old 'Oh well' attitude. Shop elsewhere people, plenty of other Australian companies that will treat you right, this one doesnt.

    • +2

What did you expect them to do?

      • Well when they say “4 Hunters remain committed to giving you the best quality & the best value for your $$$”

Then offer another batch or refund the money, as it wasn’t what I paid for.

        • +3

Whether it has enough flavour or not is a very personal taste. They wouldve received feedback from other customers that it's perfect. Were you guaranteed a certain level of flavour?

          • @Ughhh: No, just the flavour that I was told I was getting, instead of 4 bags of original. Either way, just sharing my experience, others are happy to hear it and have gone elsewhere as I’m not the only one.

          • @Ughhh: Ughhh …. My thoughts exactly , you cant please everyone and we are not about to change our recipes . As we have won a few top awards for our products

    • Hi BatmanAU , can you please tell me where you got 'Oh well' attitude ?? I personally handle all comments and responses. We have had a huge amounts of positive feedback and some negative as we can't make everyone happy …..the world we live in. I'm sorry you feel this way.

      • Whoever answered the contact is page. There is a difference of someone not being happy if they don’t like the brand, compared to someone that’s not happy as they didn’t get what they paid for, like the actual flavours purchased. But all good, we have found a much better brand here in the office.

Thanks for reminding me, need to pop in a google review for you guys, have a great day :)

        • +1

I have requested in the past from you to either PM me your order number so I could look into , you haven't done so. So how am I suppose to help resolve your outlook on us ?

But instead you will go out of your way to try give a Family operated business a negative google review , while we trying our upmost to provide great pricing in todays crazy times of price increases and trying to survive as a small business.

But instead of sending a PM/Email for me to rectify your issue you just jump on every deal with the same complaint.

BatmanAU just PM/Email me and this can be looked into, like I always do.

But if you feel giving a negative google review is your only answer then so be it …..hope you and your office have a great day and enjoy your new found brand.

          • @PeterHunter123: Peter, I actually sent the customer contact early February.

I got an email shortly after that where I explained the situation with the flavourless sample pack I purchased when you guys had the deal with the little red knife sharpener.

The email conversations that took place where I was advised “We strive for top quality and some people may not be happy from time to time” comment, was absolutely disgusting, when you have a customer stating there was zero flavour on 3 of the packs.

I was not saying “oh it could have been a bit spicer, or more Smokey” I said there was ZERO flavouring and I should have purchased a sample pack of originals.

I suggest you go through your emails to find out who sent the comments and if im the only one, it shouldn’t be hard and then you can reach out to me. Im not here to do it for you.

I review what I get, not my fault that I got a flavourless product and a rubbish attitude when I brought it to your companies attention.

            • @BatmanAU: @BatmanAU
The deal that you are talking about occurred on 06 December 2021. We did go back and look and found a comment from you there:

              BatmanAU on 28/12/2021 - 13:40
Got this deal and tbh, flavourless.. Shame!

We never saw this comment, and apparently an email was sent in February, 2 months after the deal. I have just gone through my email, and have found no complaints lodged during this month. Was there a specific date you sent it? If you could part with that information?

Unfortunately, hiding behind the alias of BatmanAU, and not giving any real specific information, for example a name or order number, I cannot track it for you. So unless you want this situation rectified, theres not much more I can do within this game of cat and mouse with you.

Any one reading this, and has tried our product, will know that stating ZERO flavour, is quite honestly impossible.

If you are not willing to actually produce any REAL information, there's not a whole lot I can do for you, unfortunately. If you send through the order number, I can review the email and your order.

Once again, we take customer satisfaction very seriously here at 4 Hunters, and always go above and beyond to rectify any situations that are communicated with us in a timely manner. Your feedback is important to us, as it helps us to improve our process and customer satisfaction.

              Kind regards,

              Peter

  • I got this email and had the 1kg in my cart. Messaged my neighbour to see if he was keen then got sidetracked. Then the deal hit ozb.
Missed out on the 1kg original, but got a kg of pepper drywoers (which i completely missed out on last deal).

    Cant wait.

    • +1

We sent out a email to our customer base and had no idea it was posted on Oz Bargain until today…. Stay tuned bigger one coming with a lot more stock

  • Everything OOS

    • Stay tuned …..Might do something very soon with a lot more available

  • Great product and quick service. Ordered 10kg last deal and have been very happy with each selection.

    • Thank you we are so pleased you enjoyed.

  • The drywoers is tasty, but seems to have inedible parts in it, like lumps of casing.
Kind of takes a bit of the polish off an otherwise great product.

    • +1

Glad you enjoyed the taste . Will look into this sometimes some grissle can get through, but we have now changed a few things.

      • thanks for reaching out via DM Peter :)

        • Only a pleasure
