  • Great work OP, I've been eyeing this monitor for a while. Not sure if my current PC will do it justice, but ~$500 is a great price :)

  • Great price, got it for ~$450.. Was able to combine with Amex 10% offer.

    • Same and also go further hopefully by cashback 7.5 to 443.

    • As far as I understand, this works for Amex business cards only. Right?

    • Which Amex offer is that?

      • 10 percent off from Dell if use amex card.

        • Now I have an AMEX card, but no offer. Which card did you use?

          • @Ozico: I have also have amex but not this offer, like many amex offers must be targeted. Wld have loved that offer too

        • Thanks, I may have received that offer but didn't save at the time. Not showing anymore :(

  • Use code VIVID5

    • 7% code is better, can use any email address outlook.com, gmail, live.com.au

  • This or the xiaomi 34inch ultrawide 144hz

  • Is there any Dell usb-c screen this size?

      • Thanks

        • got this the other day @ work and the USBC is great, if you want to tandem with another PC/laptop the KVM switching is very nice and handy (ie I have mouse keyboard connect to screen USB and toggling display input to anther machine moves USB to it too… you can even set a couple of the front screen keys to make input switching a one key press - nice.
Main downside is viewing angles arn't great - fine if you are in front of it .. but your co-worker is going to need to realign themselves rather then glance over.

      • What would be the main difference/benefits between this one to the gaming monitor?

What would be the main difference/benefits between this one to the gaming monitor?

USB-C KVM switch and 100Hz only

      • Thanks for brining to this attention - bought this one instead

Is this the best curved monitor around the $500 mark? I use it for work (spreadsheets), a bit of gaming here and there and porn.

Can this be used with a NVIDIA card or is it AMD only?

Would this be cromulent for my needs?

    • +1

Make sure to look up Ultrawide porn.

Yes it will work with a Nvidia card but G-sync mileage may vary, worst case scenario is no adaptive sync but reddit reports do state G-sync does work with this.

      • Works fine, but do note if your card is older and does less than 60fps as it can show some issues in some games. Can only recall one older title having issues.

        • Ah okay. So if I get a 3060 it should work somewhat with gysync right?

  • Cant stack 7% code….it removes the 50% off promotion and discounts 7% from rrp

    • Cant stack 7% code

Only apply the 7% code should work, just tried still work. don't put the 20% code in.

    • The 7% code just worked for me.

FYI this method brings down the AW3423DW to $1,668 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/700354

  • Will it work with MacBook Air ?

How does this compare to the S3423DWC for regular work.

    Differnces I can see are 400 cd/m2 vs 300 cd/m2 brightness. 2 vs 4ms response time.

Some did ask here but mostly we knew is USB-C, KVM switch, 100Hz so not 100% sure how is the screen itself between two models.

    • I just got the S3423DWC yesterday from the ebay deal last week. MBPro using usb-c at 100hz.
I use it for work so don't really care about 144hz and latency.

I'm happy with it, single cable for everything including charging.. webcam and conf speaker all connected nicely on the USB ports behind the screen.

I guess you could buy a USB-C hub and do the same thing with the S3422, but that's another $50-150 for a decent hub and charger.

      • How do you find the fonts? Sharpness wise?

        • Fonts are pretty sharp, but definitely not quite there as compared to say 27" 4K screens which I used before.

But then with this I could put 2 documents side by side, whereas you wouldn't have enough space with normal 4k screens.

  • Damn. Paid more for this yesterday as part of the ebay deal.

    • Tried to get a refund for the difference from ebay based on their price guarantee, but they said it didn't meet the criteria as Dell Australia isn't on their approved list of retailers(?).

Went ahead and cancelled the order with the rep from dell ebay and reordered via this deal. Didn't know dell ebay was run by a different outfit, but ebay rep was helpful.

Effort probably wasn't worth the amount of money I saved tho.

        Not a true ozbargainer.

  • Just ordered one any idea how much time it will take for delivery?

    • +1

I ordered mine at 1 am today and it is showing that it will get posted tomorrow. Estimated delivery is on Tuesday

If you want a bit more peace of mind, faster shipping and some included warranty, message the Dell support chat and ask for their best price.
It will likely become the exact same price (cheaper than the listed price if you don't have the student discount. If you do have the student discount, the price will still be the same $501.63).

The promo ends today and they will have a new promotion from tomorrow, however I could not get any more details from the rep. This means that if you try and purchase this monitor tomorrow, its likely they won't honour this sale price (if the new price is higher).

  • I grabbed this one of the last couple times it appeared on OzB and love it. Only minor quirk is that on my Mac, in order to get the full 3440x1440 resolution, had to use a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter. The USB-C to HDMI one I had would top out at a lower resolution (even though the same adapter works fine at 3440x1440 with a Windows laptop). So if you have that issue with a Mac when you get it, try DisplayPort. Great purchase though, no regrets

  • My current monitor is ASUS 27in 2K-QHD IPS 144Hz Gaming Monitor (MG279Q), is it worth the change/upgrade?

    https://www.umart.com.au/product/asus-27in-2k-qhd-ips-144hz-…

  • I currently have the Dell 27 Inch Gaming Monitor S2721DGF - is this worth the upgrade or should I stick to what I have?

    Cheers

  • I bought the usb c version S3423DWC. I put it besides with S2723QS and try to use them together as dual monitor setup. However, no matter how hard I tried to adjust the settings, the VA screen(S3423DWC) is not getting close to S2723QS(IPS) in terms of colour. So just wondering if it is the issue of this particualr monitor itself or VA screen is just having such a noticable difference to IPS regarding colour accuracy.

  • If you need USB C and like this monitor, get one of these. It works both on Thunderbolt and Macbook Air M1

Source: I wrote that top review! lol

  • Can you claim this on tax?

  • Beware, got my monitor today and the left corner is already cracked and 5cm Column of the screen is completely dead. Now half of my monitor is also barely visible and dead white pixels.

Dell is refusing to replace or refund my monitor as they are assuming that I caused the damage. I lodged a complaint 2 hours after delivery as showed on the tracking. Scumbags

    • I guess I'm going to have to film the entire unpacking process to avoid this type of problem. Though I am least to say surprised by Dell refusing to be of help.

    • Hope you manage to get yours replaced / refunded.

Appreciate the heads up - heeded your warning and recorded myself opening the box. Everything seems fine, but better to be safe than sorry.
