Great find! For $8 more I bought this one. It's half the weight. Also has way more positive reviews. To be fair I didn't look at the specs.

    • +5

You paid $22 more for that one.

    • +5

To be fair, you didn't look at the price either.

  • +5

What? A massage gun sale that is actually a deal. I can’t believe it. I’m not going to neg this one for once.

  • +5

I've scrolled past 100s of massage gun deals, finally bit the bullet with this one. Reviews seem pretty good, with some even mentioning they were happy at $100

  • +2

Same here. I've scrolled past 100s of massage gun deals, finally bit the bullet with this one. Reviews seem pretty good, with some even mentioning they were happy at $100

insert spiderman pointing at spiderman meme here 🤨

  • Charcoal one is most claimed, and pics look a little different. Are they all the same or what?

    • Sharing the same thoughts, anyone willing to weigh in?

      • dunno, most of the review videos/pics look to be of the black/grey colour shaped one
the charcoal shaped one looks like many of the other 'generic' shaped massage guns

thats about all i could get from looking at the reviews

claimed % only means something if you know how much of each was/is available

    • +1

I just got the black one. Charcoal one seems to be the odd one out and even the attachments look different.

  • +2

bought it after friend said they paid close to 1k for their one (dafuq?)

    • +10

Your friend doesn't sound like an Ozbargain professional.

    • This brand and model or a different brand and model?

    OOS

      Try specsavers first?

  • +2

Do people really use these as massagers, a more adults only purpose ? :P

    • +10

      This review might help.

      • Haha

    • +2

Surely a bit strong for that purpose?

    • That's why you want to avoid second-hand massagers…

I'm assuming you mean for this?

I bought the Renpho massage gun last year which has similar specs:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/682828

These overpriced, crappy guns really do nothing I found. They are just trendy and so all these different manufacturers pump them out and overcharge for them. Not even the sale price justifies the purchase, and I can say that as the owner of one of these rubbish devices.

My honest opinion, if you want a decent massage gun, with a decent build quality and actual deep tissue massage (they all claim to be deep tissue but you discover instantly they are definitely not), then you need to spend a bit extra on a reputable brand like the Theragun. I got the G3 model about a month later from Kogan on sale for $250, and the difference is night and day. Much better motor, it delivers a proper pulse. These other crappy models feel more like a mild vibration.

Maybe take a look at something like this:

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/theragun-liv-liv-pkg-au-theragu…

A little pricier, but you really do get what you pay for.

    • +3

      A little pricier????

      • +7

Yeah bro, $33.99 for something totally useless, vs something that actually provides actual value. Maybe Kogan will do a sale on these at some point to bring the price down

        • It's 5 times as much. Got this deal delivered and it's pretty good. Can't see the value in paying 5 times as much tbh

          • @cookie2: Cool man, glad you’re happy with the purchase, I hope it does the trick for you 👍.

    • What is the main difference you think that makes it hard for the genetic brands to replicate? Is it like the power, the motion?

      • +9

I'll start by saying, I don't pretend to know everything about the specs, I'm sure there are people on here way more knowledgeable than me, but as someone who owns both, this is just what I have found.

So the main thing to know about the Theragun, is it has a pulse length of 16mm, so it creates that pulse-like "jackhammer" (for lack of a better term) effect. These other ones dont extend out that far, so its more of a vibrating sensation, which to me, does nothing for properly massaging sore muscles, and certainly does not provide the "Deep tissue" massage.

The Theraguns triangle handle is actually super convenient too, especially when you want to focus on hard to reach areas like on your back, and when you have to switch between hands. You notice how good it is instantly, vs the standard long handle of these cheap ones, which can be much more awkward to hold in tough areas. Plus your arms do get tired, so it helps to switch up hand grips.

These cheap ones offer up to 30 speeds, so you think, "wow so many speeds, must come in handy". You quickly discover, you only need a couple of different speeds. The Theragun only has 2, and really, thats all you need.

Plus the cheap models have like 8 different head attachments. Really unnecessary, you jut need one or two good ones, and the rest sit in the box forever.

The motor on the Theragun feels stronger (im weak on the specs here), and the battery only lasts 45 minutes, but really, who is massaging themselves for longer than 45 minutes. Im assuming the weaker motor on the cheap ones is why they can boast about 8 hour run life. Also totally unnecessary.

The Theragun is significantly louder however. Its not too bad, but you will have to turn the volume up on the TV if you are trying to watch, whereas with the cheaper builds, they make very little noise.

I wasted like $100 on my Renpho massage gun, and the build quality looks pretty similar to this deal. I used it maybe twice before I put it away and ordered the Theragun, and I have zero regrets, as someone who has used it on sore muscles, and most recently, on my injured back. Believe me, the Renpho offered nothing.

So I'm just trying to help people not make the same mistake I did. Buy quality if you can, because you will get use and value out of it

        • +5

          Thanks mate. Good comparison

  • So which one is fake? Grey/black or the charcoal one???

  • +1

Pulled the trigger too as seem like reasonably priced for a massage gun.

  • +6

Thanks OP. This will be my first massage gun. Need it for detailing the interior of my car. As in, Massaging the dirt out of the carpets and vacuuming it. Wonder if this’ll do the trick.

  • +1

Got it because it is on sale.

  • +1

Did people back out or what? 20 mins ago I saw black at 99% and charcoal at 80% claimed.

    • I'm assuming they added more stock.

  • Had been thinking about one for a while too. Went for black for no valid reason..

  • +1

I will wait until it is $3.99

  • +2

I have this exact one (grey style, not charcoal). Bought it for $60 and it has done the job. The job was to save my thumbs from having to massage my partner's back several times a week.

She has used it on my back occasionally and while I have never used a theragun, it is a huge step up from something like this. https://amzn.asia/d/fVYXaTS

I'm not exactly sure what the amplitude of the oscillation is but I would put it at around 10mm if I had to guess.

At this price I think it is definitely worth it if you want to see if these sorts of devices are for you.

    • thanks for your comments - which one from the pictures? Charcoal has a different pics, unclear if they all all the same/error with the pics but they look like 2 different models but with the same description

      • +1

I have the grey one which is the same style as the black one. Not sure about the charcoal one.

  • Grabbed one. Thanks OP.

  • +1

Was I in the market for one? No. Did I buy it? Yes.

  • Just here to say we're all thinking it.

  • OOS

    • You might need to go spec savers too. I just ordered.

      • yep sorry wrong colour is OOS.

  • Showing $99

    • Showing $299.99

      • Sell cheap. Get goodreviews from real people. Increase price massively. New People buy. = Profit.

  • Costco has this - different price point, anyone knows more about this please

  • +3

Another cheapie by the same company HERE idk how it compared to the $33 one.

    • Cheere mate, great price! ordered 👍

      • Got 1 as well. Ty.

    • Amazon seems to list the normal price of that one at $30 for me. I still bought it at $23.79 though.

      • Strange, was showing $89 for me. Nvm I just saw under lightning deal, talk about inflating retail price. Oh well bought anyway

  • Black one still showing as available

  • Thank you. Just got one.

  • Thanks OP!

  • +3

I accidentally the whole massage gun.

  • Mine arrived this morning. pretty well built for the price

    • how's the experience?
      Was the purchase worth it?

      • +1

        Just delivered. Solid looking unit.
        Came already 50% charged.
Tried it out briefly and already impressed.
Reading some of the other comments, I expect the more expensive units might be better but so far I think
this was a very good bangs for bucks purchase.

        • I just got mine today aswell, instructions are not really clear and this is my first experience with a massage gun, but how do you take off/put on the attachments? I've been just pushing them in place and pulling them out and I feel like I'm gonna break it lol. Also how do you take the battery out? The instruction says to push the button on the side and just pull the handle?

    • I've received mine today aswell. Impressed with the build quality n its functionality. Only downside is, I hear buzzing sound while charging the unit. Anyone else experience the same or it's a faulty piece?

  • +2

Looks like the exact same model and from the same seller is always $39.99 in various listings, now on special for $33.99 on one of them which is the price in this deal.
I think this has never been a $99 let alone $299 massage gun!!
We just got to believe this was a lifetime deal.
