  • Showing as $59 with the code?

    • +1

Showing $54 for me. May be another promotion. I did get $5 gift card promo, may be that’s what’s applying extra $5 off.

      • OB - the gift card is out of stock but 40% off promo is still valid with the code. Worth updating? Still with free delivery.

  • +2

awesome, this also works with the $20 gift card bundle

    • what's that ?

      • +3

$59 to buy with code and they give you a $20 gift card

  • +1

Thanks, purchased for 59 and 20$ gc, so its actually 39 for me 👏

    • Amazon only billed you $39?

      • +1

Me too, but they also billed me $20 for the gift card

  • Don't forget 7% Cashback as well

    • +4

Usually, no CB if you use any code.

      • +2

Usually no CB if using CR

        • +2

Usually CBF using CR if CB

  • Yep this is the one to snag

Had to hold off for Amazon to catch up

  • +1

Nice! Lost my remote on my Fire Stick 4K (non-Max)…I haven't looked into getting a replacement remote, but may as well just grab a 4K Max anyway! :)

    • +6

Buy this and the remote will reappear

      • Aha, nah, I left it in a hotel, unfortunately! :)

  • +1

Ok thats cheap. I'll bite. So it works out to be $39 with the $20 GC?

    • +1

how do you use the gift card in same transaction im confused?

      • You can't. I'm just saying it'll end up costing $39 since you also get a $20 GC

        • +8

          It ends up costing $59.

          • -3

@Ulysses31: But it ends up costing $39 after you spend $20 on the Amazon gift card that they gave you free when you spent $59 on the firestick.

            It ends up costing $118.00

            • +1

@THICKnSLOW: Thanks! Yes this was frustrating.
If it breaks you only get a $39 refund

          • +2

@Ulysses31: If it makes you feel better, mines says the firestick is $39 and the gift card is $20…total $59.

            • @LiteDough: Do you think I can refund the gift card purchase?

            • @LiteDough: $99 device discounted to $39. The deal would’ve been updated. Screenshot of invoice?

              • -1

@Ulysses31: No… you have to buy them both together…total $59 for BOTH, the deal is correct.
You can read on the third page of comments, people have been getting the $20 and $39 charged separate even though it's just one purchase.

How does this compare to Chromecast ease of use and compatibility with apps?

    • Pretty much the same, they both run Android. Amazon App Store instead of Google Play Store otherwise can always sideload. You don't get actual Chromecast functionality with this though, but there is screen mirroring.

      • One of the things I find really valuable about the chromecast is that I can cast in any supported phone app. I'm supposing that this is not possible with a fire stick (I. E. It won't show up as a choice when you click on the cast button).

        • Which apps do you usually cast?
I bought this planning to sideload a few apps. But I know crunchyroll supports casting over Chromecast, which is a nice quality of life feature seeing as navigating the app on my phone is a lot quicker than on my tv.
Just wondering if I might also regret not having the native Chromecast support.

          • @DeToxin: Abc iview, binge

          • +1

@DeToxin: AirReceiver app works exactly like Chromecast and it also supports Apple Cast. I can use TV as extended monitor my Macbook.
Cast from any apps that supports Google Cast or Apple TV.

            • @ndoan: Thanks for the recomm, looking forward to trying it out now 👍

              • +1

@DeToxin: You may need another app “Launch on boot” to start AirReceiver automatically every time you power on/off FireTV. You also need Kodi+Elementum+Gaia and some VPN software. The FireTV remote can also turn on/or TV, adjust volumes.

        • +1

It does support casting Netflix and YouTube, no to Disney. To lazy to check but I'm fairly sure it'll support prime casting too

    • The same

  • Thanks OP :)

  • Damn son it works. Good deal!

  • +1

how i add $20 gift card with the device and it came to $79. am i missing a step?
do i need to add card or not

  • Got it - thanks!

  • The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.

    • +1

      Works fine here. Typo?

      • +1

nvm was because i couldnt check out using existing gift card balance

  • thx OP cannot believe this price

  • +1

Works fine. $59 after code entered at checkout. Includes Fire stick and $20 gift card.

  • +5

Lol I literally spoke to Amazon like 1 hr ago asking if they could price match JB. They gave me some nonsense about how they strive to be competitive and offer the lowest prices and therefore couldn't price match

    • +1

Customer service don’t have the power to price match, even if it’s their own price. They’ll tell you to refund the product and buy it again, even if Amazon end up paying the shipping cost and restocking cost themselves.

      • Yeah unreal, I guess it can't be too many asking for the price match otherwise they would've streamlined the process.

      • Their overheads and volume probably allow them to soak up the refund cost. They were even willing to refund a game that I had already redeemed cause their storefront had a lower price.

  • you can get an echco dot if you don't want the $20

    • how . it comes up more for that

    • +1

The code didn't work with the Echo Dot bundles for me.

    • +7

You can buy anything you want if you don’t want the $20

  • +3

I don't have Prime and it is coming up as $5.99 for shipping. Shouldn't it be free as it is over $39?

    • +1

      same:(

    • Grab a 1 month prime membership

    • +1

      same

    • +1

Adding on: was able to order it with free shipping. Had to try a few times, don't give up if it isn't working!

      • Can confirm it works for me. Had $5.99 delivery fee persisting even when you change the delivery options. Was going to pay it anyway as it's already good value but figured to give it a go after reading this. Shipping fee was removed after about the 4th time removing the item and re-adding it. Thanks.

        • If removing and adding the item doesnt work on desktop, try the same trick on mobile. I was able to remove the delivery cost by changing the delivery option using the Amazon app.

          • +1

@localdealer: Worked for me on desktop with chrome. Thanks for the original tip.

  • Awesome !

Thanks purchased. Don't know why as already got a couple of CCWGTV. But can't complain about the price

    • Let me know which one you prefer

      • Will do. Only bought this to compare the 2. Don't even have a TV to use it on as have a couple of MiBox set up aswell

        • I have CCWGTV on the 3 TVs in my household. I also bought a Firestick lite when they were on special a few months ago. In my opinion the Firestick is much better. I'm constantly running out of memory on the CCWGTVs resulting in crashes and having to uninstall apps. There was a known memory leak issue and I still don't think it's been properly resolved. I have lots of apps running on my Firestick lite including Kodi and it's much more reliable. This is a steal for the 4K max version.

Remember to use SmartTubeNext for ad-free Youtube.

    • +7

Or less than $2/month to just have it ad-free on any signed-in device…

    • +2

S-Tube also seems to work very well.

      • Yes it's great but only 1080p

    • Link

    • yah this is amazing - its so good I wonder why the big G tolerates it and I feel slightly bad for the creators

    • SoundTV also a good twitch.tv alternative.

  • +1

Almost bit on the JB hifi one at 59 but with the $20 gift card this is a ay better offer

    • +2

      Ay, ay better

    • yeh it is better, but only if you like free money

  • Thanks for this. Was close to jumping on the other deal but this is much better.

  • I just bought Chromecast with Google TV a few days ago. Damnit. Is there any real use for this in addition to the Chromecast or just buying for sake of a deal?

    • +1

I wouldn't say so. More of a one or the other type thing.

    • I have Chromecast with Google TV - it's good but I'm missing being able to sideload android apps to sail the high seas. So bought one on this deal
I think that's really the only advantage - that this is android.

Have a look at Syncler and pair it with a Real Debrid account. I use this on my CCWGTV and works flawlessly.

        • Interesting i'll do some research

          • +1

            @cyrax83: Definitely do.

I got a few friends using the same setup and they all are very happy.

            • @Whatisthatvelvet: Did some research last night. I did manage to install Stremio on CCWGTV which works well (been using it on the laptop). Starting to look into Syncler now. Can Syncler be used without a Real Debrid paid account? Is RD worth it?

              • @cyrax83: It can be used without a paid RD account but it won't be a good experience. You won't get the links from Real Debrid and whatever links are provided will have plenty of buffering and be pretty much useless.

I also have a paid Syncler account (Syncler+) which allows more customisation and also adds more providers.

So a paid RD account and Syncler+ gives the best results and costs a couple bucks a month.

              • @cyrax83: Real debrid is deff worth it, $48 a year (you also earn points which you can redeem for free months) and you can watch any movie or TV shows you want (anything from Disney, Netflix, prime, shudder etc), I've set mine up to have a Netflix like interface, best thing I've done

                https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/126302/96088/20220531_…

                • @MeesusEff: You can also trying paying with pay safe cards. They are sometimes $10 off $50 at woolies or coles.

                • @MeesusEff: Which software/plugin/extension is this? I'm guessing Kodi with some addons?

                  • @bio: Kodi, and you can either use Seren (works better but slower load times) or Ezra (fast but bit buggy), the top Google guide will walk you through it very easily, also look up a4ksubs if you want subtitles. That's all you need (+ real debrid sub, you can try 1 month for like 4 bux) . Then if you want skins just play around. I learnt a lot from trawling through the addonsforkodi subreddit lol.

                • @MeesusEff: Thanks - how do you guys pay for Real Debrid? It doesn't seem like they accept paypal
