Microsoft Surface Pro 7+ 12.3" i5-1135G7/8GB/128GB SSD 2 in 1 Device (Platinum) with Black Keyboard $1095 + Post @ Harvey Norman

Please note: there's a better deal on this now: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/703418

For those who missed out on the previous deal, HN has this bundle on clearance again (and available for shipping). However it's $100 more than before but still a nice deal (IMHO). Here are the previous deals for more info:

The SP7+ is the outgoing model. The current model Surface Pro 8 has a deal on here (but it's $350 more):

The SP7+ and SP8 linked above have the same CPU (i5-1135G7) but the SP7+ is fanless. There are various other differences: SP8 has two USB-C/Thunderbolt ports, SP7+ has one USB-C and one USB-A; SP8 has larger screen capable of 120Hz refresh; SP8 has narrower bezels on the sides and more curvy; SP8 slightly heavier; SP7+ has microSD slot. Personally I like the SP7+ more, YMMV :)

    SP8 link goes to SP7?

Just a reminder - many stores (JB, TGG, etc) all have Educator/Student discounts worth about 10%. While I am a teacher, every thread I saw had people saying they weren't ID checked and that matched my own experience. Some staff won't know, but I was polite and firm and a quick manager chat later sorted it out.

I have both - SP8 is better overall (form, larger screen, refresh rate, thunderbolts) but SP7+ is great for the Microsd slot. Performance shouldnt be too different so not sure if its worth the extra 350.

  • Microsoft Surface Pro 7+ should be sub $800 then its a deal :D

  • Lenovo Yoga 6 gen 7 with ryzen 5500 U is available for 1000$ ( 1030 $ with pen ) on Lenovo education store. That seems like a better deal.

Hm, depends on your intended use I guess. SP7+ is lighter, higher res screen (267ppi vs ~170 on the Yoga), detachable keyboard, fanless. But you should post that as a deal :)

    Great comparison. Very helpful.

  • Don't buy it now. Wait for JB's Wicked Wednesday offers.

  • does anyone buy a hard back cover for these? or do you just use the standard keyboard cover? The standard keyboard cover leaves the bank exposed for scratches

    • The back piece is all metal - scratches aren't an issue unless you're rubbing it into crushed glass or similar 😁

      • thanks, that's good to know :)

  • I bought this, unopened and sealed, plus an adapter that provides HDMI, ethernet, extra USB. If anyone wants it for bought price including receipt from Harvey's please reply to my comment. Yoiu can'tr get these for this price now.

I want a Surface Laptop instead.
