Sapphire Radeon RX 6900XT TOXIC Limited Edition Graphics Card $1399 Delivered @ PCByte

791

This is a pretty amazing graphics card, but not really for everyone as it requires room for a 360mm radiator - yes that means it has All-In-One cooling! As far as I'm aware the previous best price was around $1449. Not sure how much is in stock, it seems to only be available online (so no store pick up).

With the new AMD RADEON preview driver AMD now beats or matches the equivalent NVIDIA graphics cards in most titles.

According to Steve from Hardware Unboxed: "It's pretty amazing, in fact it's very amazing" and "it's one cool customer." Take from that what you will.

Purchased it for $1449 and am very happy. Can be a bit noisy. Delivery was very slow.

    • +1

Yeah, I think they only order as they get orders no stock on standby.

    • noisy could mean your airflow in case isn't great, assuming you have it top mounted.

    • Ho difficult to install this? I hate to open my chassis

      • +33

Pretty difficult if you keep the lid shut

        • I dont actually login to the site often I just check the deals.. but this made me lol kinda hard.

    • Same here, I ended up having to buy a new case to fit two aio coolers but definitely worth it

    • Same bought at $1449 I love it, took 14 days from ordering to arrive to Tasmania. My card doesn't have any coil whine or anything but once all 3 fans on the 360mm Rad fire up on max the fan noise is pretty loud. I've just altered the fan curve settings.

      • What software / driver do you guys use? I can't find the toxic software anywhere for it

        • Amd radeon software can adjust the fan settings

      • How did you check yours for coil whine? I’ve noticed I do have it when playing certain titles like in WoW Shadowlands, HoTS. When the game uses more GPU it does whine a bit.

It is however, much better than Gigabyte 6900XT I had before so overall happy with the purchase.

Team at PCByte was really helpful and I picked up my card the same day I ordered it as it just arrived in stock.

I’ve got it front mounted so it does produce a little bit of fan noise too but the look of this gpu is exceptional so it’s a small sacrifice😀

      • You can just change the fan curve to zero for the vast majority go water-cooling

Reminds me of the old MSI Lightning Edition cards

    • +4

I think I used to have a borderline fetish for those lol.

      • +1

In their time they were the best of the lot
ASUS had the Matrix line around the same time
I think those were the start of 2.5 slot cards and beefy power delivery

    • Ooooo the lightning series!! DRIBBLING NOW! lol i have 2× 6970 lightning on a P6X58D-E with a i7 960…. was hard to beat back then. All still work fine and now use as a production tower. Bit power hungry though…. but very nice cards!! Wonder if they'll ever bring em back??

  • I got this from previous sale and it's an amazing card

  • Is it better to top mount these?

    • +2

Yes so the heat doesn't go through your system

      • yes - gets pretty hot exhaust , however gpu doesnt go above 60c - pretty awesome

  • Damn i wanted this last year. Settled for the XFX Speedster MERC 319 AMD Radeon™ RX 6900 XT

  • Whats a good power supply to pair with this?

    • Any 850W Gold will do the job.

  • how I wish my wallet and PSU can manage this….

  • For those with a Corsair SF750 PSU and wondering if this could run overclocked without problems, this exact GPU with the TriXX "one click overclock" software and a 5900x CPU Auto OC'd in Radeon Settings runs super smooth

    • Where did you find the trixx software? I have downloaded some version of it but force clocec on win10 pro

    • +2

Cheers bud. Have a 5900x currently with a 5600xt and Corsair HX750. Should be able to pull it off then, wasn't too keen on the upgrade if I needed to get a 850 or 1000W

      • Mate, you should've got an 5900XT for that. J/k if it ever existed.
        I don't see a reason why your system can't fit a 6900XT!

        • PSU calculators always overestimates, i am running 4 3.5" hdd, 2 2.5"ssd, and 2 nvme, with 10 120mm fans. eATX cases things.

          • @kid-vhee: Are you going to full load all of them at once though? Even gaming is splitted between GPU and CPU.

  • Everyone is skipping on the main qn here. Where is jimmy77?

  • AMAZING graphics card

Currently running mine @ 2.7ghz (1175mv) stable at 380w max pl (modded).

At 25% max fan limit (modded as default max was 40% for some reason) can't hear the fans and hottest it gets is ~80 degrees t junction. First time I've owned an AMD card and was well worth it. 3090-3090ti performance for significantly less.

Got mine on pc bytes last sale at $1400. 100% worth it. I get 21500 graphics score on 3D mark time spy

Does yours have the type C output instead of the DisplayPort? I noticed this only has a Toxic boost of 2600 compared to the other 2 which have 2660. I think they throw the low binned chips into these but I also believe they throw rubbish chips into the extreme too just to make more stock and profits. The rule of the cheapest model works best.

      • Mine's Displayport, there are 3 models when it comes to the TOXIC

The highest one is a super high bin that can oc over 3ghz (with LN) and can clock memory higher.

Tbh, the bin doesn't really matter since you are not going to get 3ghz with this cooling anyways, maybe 2.8-2.9 at most.

Groundhog day. Seen this model this price before. Tuf also much cheaper

    • +1

Tuf running hot as the AMD GPUs run very hot this has much more overclock headroom much cooler and quieter..

      • -2

Tuf is $140 cheaper. Never seen a price gap anything close to that big between two high tier AIB's. Could get a better aftermarket AIO for the tuf for the difference and even sell it separately when done with the card. The overclock gains don't justify the price difference are lower fps/$ than the tuf's performance.

        • +1

It's $140 for a superior cooler, and better bin. How many people actually change their cooler?

Your argument is not related to 99% of buyers lmao

          • -2

@DopeOxide: It's $140 more for a different AIB. Ontop of an already top tier asus AIB.

Find me another example across any generation where an AIB is $140 more than a tuf
