Thanks, been looking for a cheap DAB radio with line out for a while.

    • Same! Great deal

  • Nice post dude - thanks !!

Does anyone know if this supports AM??

    • probably not…

    • -2

      Only AM stereo

    • I have one, DAB and FM only

    • +1

If you want to listen to a particular AM station, there is a good chance you can with this radio - because a fair number of the AM radio stations have a DAB station too, and are broadcasting the same audio on the DAB station.

If you want to receive the AM stations directly, no. This radio can't tune to AM radio frequencies, nor can it decode/demodulate AM signals.

Want to see what what stations you can receive in your area? Enter your postcode into the "Can I get digital" box at the bottom of this page, and it'll tell you which stations are broadcasting on DAB in your area:

Nope, only does DAB and smoke signals.

  • Has oxx gone under? Noticed oxx stock will not be restocked.

  • It's review says it's volume level is LOW…

-not- loud enough to be heard clearly in a noisy or outdoor environment.

Not surprising looking at the specs, could be used with some small speakers though.

  • Nice find! I have been waiting for deal like this !

HyperZ: It has FM and DAB. DAB is a broadcast standard and if your AM station does DAB it will be available on this radio

  • great find.
I still am not sure why I need one…

  • Warning:

NO DAB IN NSW CENTRAL COAST!

    • +2

good reason to move house then…

  • Mono? Digital radios should get very cheap soon. I just want one in the car!

    • Single speaker on unit = Mono sound. Car players are still expensive.

Also noticed the aerial only goes up and down. Can't be swiveld from side to side at different angles.

I'm still waiting for manufacturers to integrate DAB+ tuners into there receivers so I can upgrade my ageing one.

keep waiting. Remember how staggered DVD burning technology was released in hifi standard?

        DVD writer no tuner
        DVD writer with SD tuner
        DVD writer with HD tuner
then DVD writer with HD tuner and external drive support

Nah, no conspiracy that all major brands did the same thing there.

Also noticed the aerial only goes up and down. Can't be swiveld from side to side at different angles.

It's a digital signal, so swivelling the aerial isn't going to make much of a difference…

        • Good one. :)

        • But the waves broadcast are analog, just like Digital TV.

    • If its no hassle (or more clutter), you could grap a cheap (analog) fm transmitter for ~$2 on ebay. Sound will be retransmitted without interference (provided there are no frequency clash from local radio stations) to car speakers in 'Stereo' Whoa!.

    wow, good bargain!

bought a digital radio with ipod dock only a few weeks ago for $130. this is wayy better deal!

  • +1

    Thanks impoze,

Bought one, will probably hook it up to my HT system using a 3.5mm to 2RCA cable.

  • Ordered one. Thanks

  • no internet radio?
planning to get a DAB+ with internet radio stations & podcasts

  • Very good deal consider DAB+ radios were over $300 just a couple of years ago. Design wise I see swivel as an effective protection for telescopic antenna that doesn't really cost much to infuse in to such innovative product. But in that range of price I can only say - All Good and I placed my order as soon as I saw the deal. I own one of these large DAB, internet radio, FM etc units but prefer small and portable.

  • It says not valid anymore. did I miss out?

    I want DAB :(

    • it was working yesterday when i bought one, but i tried the code today as well. It doesn't work anymore

    • the original coupon that was emailed out said it was only valid for Tuesday 22/5/2012

    • yeah seemed to be part of their "terrific tuesday" promotion that ended midnight.

    Just got delivered today.
But having problem with DAB - "NO SIGNAL"

User Guide - Doesn't explain much
    anyone have the same problem?

    PS. I live in Newcastle

  • Got mine today. Works well; volume not particularly loud but probably good enough. Good value for the price.
