I just heard an ad on TV in Brisbane advertising one of their usual sales at Harvey Norman this Saturday only. My ears only pricked when I heard them say that they will be selling the Samsung Galaxy S2 for $394.

From what I gathered from the ad, this is in-store only, and an outright (unlocked) phone. No mention of phone colours available.

The only other thing I heard them advertise in the ad was a 4GB USB drive for $4.

EDIT: Multiple people have reported seeing this ad on TV and print in NSW and Victoria.

      The saleman at Richmond store offered me a "backorder" when I rushed to the store at approx. 1pm Saturday. Payment has already been made in store and I am still waiting for their advice of pickup. Has anyone got the same situation?

    Just went to harvey norman Wiley Park at 9.10am all sold out was so annoyed came back home and then ordered one off the website, ironic is that when i chose local pickup it says Wiley Park had some in stock, oh well 5.40 delivery fee to avoid another early morning headache.!

      That's a pain. Auburn store still had stock when I left there about 30 minutes ago but there were lot's of crazy eyed people (Ozbargainers?) - me included - buying like there is no tomorrow. This is a second SGS2 for me, the old one is going to my wife but I'm going to root it and go pure Android. Just don't like the Samsung bloats but that is a personal preference.

        fair enough mate got to look into the whole "root" aspect of androids seeing my phone before was a HTC wildfire i was going to get the HCT evo 3D for a while but u cant beat the price for this SGS2, i got an email saying i should get it in 7 days i didnt want to drive anywere else incase the same situation happened such as broadway etc…

        I ordered online an hour ago and received this response a few minutes ago: We're experiencing a delay with your order. We estimate that your item(s) listed below will be ready in approximately 5 days, at which point we'll contact you.

        Personally, I'm not bothered by the delay, but if you desperately want it today, go to a store. Given they've removed it from the web, I assume they're struggling to keep up with demand.

    Stocks seems to be very low. I just bought online from Blacktown, NSW. Recevied an email from store saying "ORDER RECEIVED - WE'LL LET YOU KNOW WHEN YOUR ORDER IS READY FOR PICKUP". Anybody know how long it would take to get confirmation?

    Just picked up a white one from Thomastown this morning, they only had about 15 left and were selling FAST! Probably all gone now. Also got the last S2 extended battery from Telstra shop at Melbourne Airport for $25. All this bargain hunting is making me hungry…on my way to Hungry Jacks for a $2 Whoppa and fries and wash it down with a free Diet Coke from 7-eleven!

    Also they only had the black which I prefer over the white anyways.

    i Just bought it this morning and the box says it comes with free Navigon mobile navigator but when i try to open it says ' an error occured during activation'. Any one knows why this is happening and how to get around this. I am with 3 mobile by the way

      go to software update from the phone
      should initiate from there.

        As long as you have inserted your sim card. If you haven't yet then your only option is Kies. No idea why.

      That's even better…mine was 2.3.6 Optus ROM and upgraded to 4.0.3. Anyone know how to remove those Optus bloatware.

        I am not happy after I tested the GPS (using Google Map) and it does not work!! Does Samsung provide any support at all in Australia?

          The map could not detect the current location. It seems that a hard reset can fix it, but I need to test it more.

    OMG I just found a loop hole on the HN website!! I put 1 in my online cart at 9 am this morning but decided not to go thru with it so closed the page. Just jumped online now too see how the store stock situation was after the mad rush, couldn't find the item on their site cos they have removed it so I opened my history and loaded the cart from that and strangely the phone was still in my cart at the sale price, wouldn't allow me to select pickup only delivery. I thought I'd test how far thru the process it would let me go before the cart realized but it let me process the order all the way and gave me an order number and took my money. Now let's see if they will honor it

    I went to purchase one of these in Canningon WA on Saturday. The store rep said it was compatible with Telstra 4G. Can anyone confirm this or were they completely wrong? I would have checked myself but they didn't have any in stock.

          They said yes, can get it delivered to store from Moss Vale.
          No ETA though…

    I ordered on 24/6 at nunawading. I picked up in store yesterday. Dealer principal told me stock was delayed due to courier issues. He thanked me for my patience. I have not got this level of service at any other HN store.
    I have not opened it yet so don't know of the prepossessed OS.
