Personal Finance & Net Worth Tracker Spread Sheet $6 (Was $8) @ CSPersonalFinance

130

Morning OzBargain!

After having it brought to my attention that 2 previous deals on OzBargain were quite successful I wanted to bring a direct EOFY deal to OzBargain on the CSPersonalFinance Personal Savings Sheet. This automated Sheet has been quite popular here on OzBargain, Reddit, Etsy and a few other places too. The tool is usually $8 but has been discounted to $6 for this sale.

This tool is designed to help you gain a wholistic understanding of your finances, track/game progress and automates as much of the entry and stats as possible. All data is then correlated for more insights. The main features are:

  • Private financial solution compared to other cloud platforms
  • Live ETF, stock, crypto & managed fund prices & tracking
  • Property value & performance tracking dashboard
  • Loan, debt, mortgage & credit-card tracking and metrics
  • Monthly net worth & savings email updates
  • Included budgeting system
  • Automatic FIFO capital gains calculations for sold assets
  • Algorithmic investment rebalancing optimisations
  • Dividend tracking and reinvestment support
  • Live & automatic international currency conversion on all assets
  • Google Calendar/email sheet & investment prompts

There are 2 versions of the Sheet - the Full sheet contains all the features but requires some more expansive permissions as a result, or there is the slimmed version which does not support email updates, calendar reminders or the migration feature but has more self-contained permissions for those privacy conscious. There is also a beginner Sheet that is free for those who would like to explore an older version.

If you had any questions about the sheet and its features, let me know and I'll try answer. Also, I am constantly updating the sheet with bugfixes and new features, as I have been for the past 3 years. As new versions are released, those who have purchased the sheet will be sent the new version.

  • How do I import data into it? Like, do we need to add each and every transaction or monthly bills etc?

    • I have a FAQ here that might help you:

To enter your own historical data into the Sheet, follow the instructions below:

      • Head to the History tab
      • Starting in Cell A3 and working down, enter in the dates (ie. 1/6/2020, 1/7/2020 etc.) for the previous data you want in the sheet. Don't worry about the months already in the sheet, they will automatically move down.
      • For the new months that you've entered, from left-right fill out the values in the blue columns.

Just a note that the Sheet doesn’t require your bills to be entered. It will automatically track your spend off your cash balances month to month.

      • Does this system allow you to import data from various credit cards and bank accounts or does it have to be entered manually?

        • I am trying to integrate with OpenBanking or other providers in the future, but there are costs associated with that which is hard to fit into this one off purchase.

I have a guide on how to do this yourself, but for now you need to manually enter your cash balance. For me this takes just a couple of minutes each month and actually helps you be more involved with your progress this way.

      • Yeah I’d checked the FAQ, but couldn’t understand.
So, every month I update the cash, super etc and that’s it? I don’t have to update how much I spend/pay the CC?

        • Yep that’s completely correct. You’ll enter your credit card balance and this should sync with your cash balance to keep track of your monthly spend.

          • @CSPersonalFinance: Cool, thanks. Might give it a go

          • @CSPersonalFinance: BTW, you recon I start updating this starting 1st July or enter details as of today/tomorrow?

            • @b0nd: Entirely up to you! The main thing is choose a consistent date each month and run it then. I like to do the day before my monthly payday (the poorest I am during the month) or on the first.

I do recommend against running it on the last day of the month consistently. Only because if you forget then you may lose that months progress as the day after will be a different month.

              Hope that helps.

              • @CSPersonalFinance: Much appreciated!! Btw how do I get help with the data ? I’m confused on how do I split my variable and fixed loan 🥹

  • Don’t like the fact that you have to covert USD to AUD manually every time for US stocks (under the Purchase History Table). Is there a way to change the “Bought Price (AUD)” to “Bought Price (USD)”?

Or can you make a seperate sheet for USD based stocks?

    • I have this earmarked for v2.13. I’m just trying to find a way to be efficient with GoogleFinance calls and batch them for those with a large purchase history. Another requirement is dynamically changing the currency symbol.

The Watch table should convert for you automatically however.

I’ve got this working in a beta Sheet, likely coming out in the next month.

      • That’s awesome, thanks mate.

        • No worries! You should get an email when it’s out.

  • Very nice spreadsheet, I’ve been using since last September. Highly recommended.

    • Do u reckon having this than paying simply wall st spread sheet?

  • I've got multiple accounts with a number of crypto exchanges. Would I need to buy multiple licenses? Also, can I use your product to replace tools like koinly etc for tax purposes? Thanks!

    • Just the single copy should be fine to cover it, the tool doesn’t need to know what exchange the funds are on.

As for tax purposes, all calcs in the sheet are just estimates to help with your live Net Worth figure. I’d recommend something like Koinly for certified and robust tax figures.

  • I purchased the spreadsheet yesterday via Paypal and have yet to receive the welcome email. I have checked junk mail etc and have used website resend feature but as yet no luck.

    • The welcome email just came through - thank you very much. I look forward to using it to track my net worth in retirement.

      • Glad it has! If you have any issues let me know.

  • Hi,
I had purchased this last night and emailed you. I have not received a link.

    Cheers

    • Just sorting this out for you now, the email should come through in a minute.

      • It got access to gmail account and ability to send mail on my behalf

        Is this expected ?
