Offer terms and conditions

The Refer a Friend offer will run from 1 December 2021 to 31 December 2022 and is available to all ubank customers. The Refer a Friend offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer (unless we determine otherwise).

“Friends” who were previously ubank customers and closed their accounts within the past 12 months are not eligible for this offer.

3 card purchases must be made and settled by the “friend” in their first 30 days as a ubank customer to be eligible for the bonus payment.

Only settled card purchases are eligible to meet the bonus criteria. This means we must wait until each card payment has been settled (no longer showing as “pending” in the friend’s transaction history) before the referrer or the friend become eligible for the bonus payment.

Eligible customers and “friends” will each receive a payment of $20 each into their Spend account within a few days of fulfilling the bonus criteria.

There are always a few people who will try to game the system, so here are some fair play conditions.

We retain the absolute right to refuse to pay or cancel a “refer a friend bonus” payment without notice to you. The reasons for us to refuse or cancel a payment may include, but are not limited to, if:

• we believe that you or your friend’s access to the ubank app is or may be fraudulent
• we believe that you or your friend have threatened the security of ubank
• we believe that you or your friend have breached any of our General Terms
• we believe that you or your friend are acting in bad faith
• we have locked or closed you or your friend’s account
• you or your friend’s account contains unpaid charges or is overdrawn

We also retain the absolute right to stop the offer at any time and to change the conditions or incentive of the offer.

    Scroll to the bottom of the Home section of the app.

    Edit: Yeah it's also at the top of settings - shows the exact same thing.

      Thanks guys - weirdly it is not showing for me. I just downloaded the app today and have had the account for ages.

          @MiscOzB: Ah worked it out. I downloaded the old green version of the app. That was the first one I saw but it must be the new purple one, just setting it up now

            @King Tightarse: …and it won't let me. So I called them and according to CS you can't use the new app with an old account? They said they will be migrating everyone over to the new platform over the next few months. Walked away not 100% certain the person was correct. What a mess! Two active apps and platforms

    I wish they keep the 86400 name - ubank just feels… meh, and sounds like a wordplay of "mebank".

  FYI, I had the old Green App too and was trying to find the referral code too. Called them and they said you need to create a new account with the new app.

  However, if you download the new version and make an account, you're actually creating a new back account, and will have another card sent to you.
  They have plans to migrate the two apps by the end of the year.

  I was kinda pissed they didn't make that clear to me, and now I have another account/card I didn't actually need. We can request to delete the new account, but then no referrals. Urgh.

  FYI I normally use Up but signed up for Ubank to get the better interest rate and their UI is really good! Wouldn't mind making it my primary banking account.

  You can set up a shared saver with your spouse if you want to, may be better come tax time I guess.

  Get a referral off here to sign yourself up. Register, and then refer and register your spouse.

  Then on any of the accounts, you can go and create a shared savings account and nominate the other person via email. Both of you need to make 3 purchases within the first 30 days and you'd get $20 for signing up and 20 for referring you SO, and they'd get 20 for signing up. Easy!

  Purchases can be made via Google pay immediately after sign up, no need to wait for your physical card.

  I just signed up. Looks like a decent backup debit card to have around for those rare cases I need to an international transaction in another currency.
