    Seriously??

Place 4 grands into a non interest bearing account for 15 bucks?

Ex Gerry dumped staff doing this?

    • Doesn't look like an amazing deal but it doesn't appear that you need to keep the $1000 in the account. Can't see anything in the terms stating this, so should be as easy as depositing and withdrawing the $1000.

      • And $15 a month, so really $60. Pretty stingy but not terrible. Unfortunately I am not targeted.

      • It's free money how is it stingy?! Or is moving money around at the tip of your finger now considered hard work? That wouldn't surprise me….

    • Per month, so you get $15 for $1000 in a month. I don't think any savings account would give you that much for $1000 in a month

      • And you should be able to move the $1000 back into a savings account the same day, and continue accruing interest on it elsewhere.

why I was not targeted, do they think I am going to be loyal for them anyway?

  • How is targeting customers like this not a form of discrimination towards those customers that are not targeted?

It is not a random process.

    • Sadly it's explicitly allowed by Australian Consumer Law, same goes for those under 25 yr olds or seniors offers.

I believe you, but is it mentioned in consumer law, or is it just that targeting is not covered in consumer law, that allows it to happen?

        • I can't find where, but there is a section somewhere about businesses being allowed to target promotions to specific groups, it's been discussed a few times on OzBargain when people complain about deals for certain demographics (usually age) and they say it's ageist/discrimination. Buggered if I can find it though!

  • I got spend $600 get $60 back this month

  • Technically, if you put 4K into the saver max account, you will get $66.67 for 4 months. Slightly higher than $60 cash back

You don’t need to leave the $1000 in the transaction account
