Light scratches, visible from 20cm away

    that sounds..more than light?

Price is okay if you absolutely positively need an s21 ultra - but if you have access to the portals it might be worth waiting for the next deal, paying a bit more for a newer model, with full Samsung warranty and then getting crazy coupon stacks on top (newsletter promo + trade in bonuses that come in now and then).

    • -7

Nah mate. I believe it's a pretty slick deal. You ain't gonna get s22 ultra brand new from Samsung for under $1200. This looks like a pretty genuine deal to me.

      • +5

Give it another few months and you can get it brand new for under 1200 mate.

Happened to S21 Ultra in the past too.

        • I think after all the stacks i paid about 1k for my s21 ultra

          Edit it was 979.20

          Had newsletter stack
          Upsized trade in
$300 (???!) value on my old as hell iPhone 7 pro with stuffed mic/speaker

      • It was already $1250 plus $200 gift card last month

    • +1

I purchase my Galaxy S21+ (not ultra) last year Sep. Below was my comment in ozbargain post for Samsung trade in program:
Maybe wait for a few month, you might get Plus model to similar price or +$100~$300 more for Ultra model.

      total - $1010 discount, paid $639 for Galaxy S21 Plus 5G 256GB model.

      • Good deal but a bit of work involved.

        Should post as a deal.

  • "i've never bought from them before"?!…

    • +15

      until now, relax

  • +3

Haven't bought from them either but considering them for my next phone, they have a lot of good reviews, and I would rather get last year's flagship for $585 than pay $1200-$1700 for the latest.

  • Thank you OP, I didn't know about this mob. Saved for future reference.

  • A new front screen cost is around $550aud for what it's worth. You could get that and still be cheaper than a new phone…. but then I guess it's still not new?

Besides that though, the "as new" price for $898 seems pretty good for what it is!

    • +2

Yeah, with their return policy, my plan is to check for scratches when i receive the phone. If any of those scratches are bad or in areas i am not OK with, then i'm just going to return it.
…if not, there are people literally selling s21 ultra's on FB marketplace for more than this, the only ones closer to $600 there are ones with cracked screens. Could always resell there for atleast the amount i got it for.

  • +1

    Single Sim….

    • Can have 5 eSIM

    • I just use VOIP and SIP, worlds better than additional sims for me. Cant txt spam a 'landline' number.

  • +3

person i work with bough an ipad Air 3 - and it looked immaculate. charged like a new device when first used and did not have irregular battery drain & has been gong gangbusters since. appreciate this is only a token comment - yet given person bought an ipad and iphone from the place and they visually looked excellent and have been working flawlessley thought would chime in. i have mentioned this site to others too - yet some wanted new vs refurb so as always to each their own.
i too am looking at using this site to replace our ipad air 1 & have no issue with a refurb or gently loved if will save me decent dollars. 14days is reasonable also if the device arrived and is not to ones satisfaction

    • Exactly right, i don't think the people that have a problem with this have a problem with the site or the price. But instead their problem is with refurb vs new

  • +2
    • +1

The fact that they don't censor them, and that most of them are just "return claim made" with nothing further.. seems like a thumbs-up to me.. not that I need a new phone right now.. my poco X3 from 3 years ago still going strong

    • Good idea, and glad to see they check out so well, even by the folks that 'hate them'. Well under 10% of their reviews are negative (and the negs are always far more vocal).

My bank is good at handling fraud if they didnt deliver, so im keen to try.

    • +4

Alot of 5 star reviews that have only left one review and there's like 10 accounts created this morning and they've all been replied to by the company dodgy as….

  • +2

They have terrible after service if anything goes wrong. Buyer beware!

    • Did they not accept return?

    • Not sure about that claim, they seem to respond to all reviews with issues on Product Review, and most of them seem to be related to slow delivery than actual product

    • These comments are so annoying. Like you've obviously had a bad experience so give some detail for others to know what was so bad, otherwise you just sound like an angry competitor trying to upset the competition.

  • does this come with accessories, charger etc?

    • I don't think the new Samsungs come with a charger from the factory anymore, so I doubt it

      • Would be 5 stars for me if it magically included a charger lol

      • +1

as a midrange Chinese phone buyer myself, you're telling me people pay over 1k for a phone and it doesn't even come with a charger out of the box? I'm surprised

    • for "in the box" it says:
      - The phone
      - Charger cable
      - 1 tree planted for you (not sure how this will help me charge my phone, but i can appreciate the effort)

doesn't sound like it comes with a charger brick or earphones or anything else

      • Why would it? My S21 ultra only came with a type c cable from factory.

        • Not sure what you mean, it comes with what i mentioned because that's what it says on the reebelo link….thats why it would

          • @whitepuma: I meant that why would it come with a charging brick and headphones when Samsung stopped providing those with the S21 and later flagships.

            • @krisspy: oh now i understand….

Yeah i don't know why that question is directed to me, i'm not saying it should come with the charging brick or headphones….i'm just saying it doesn't.

            • @krisspy: to my suprise, i just received it,and it came with a charger (despite them note mentioning that on the website). Should note though that the charger is not samsung branded:

TBH, if Refurb places want to do this, they should genuinely be be showing you a good quality photo of what it looks like. But that would slow their sales.

    • Thing is, Reebolo isn't a seller. It's a thinly disguised reseller conglomerate portal. Basically ebay, modern Dick Smiths, etc. There's been plenty of stories on here of people having quite some difficulty post placing an order figuring out when/where there phone is coming/from.

  • "light scratches" hmmmmm

  • -3

Exynos on S22 ultra even slower than the one on S21 ultra, plenty reviews on YouTube, Genshin not even running stable at 60fps from the first minute. Personally I will stay away any Exynos equipped phones.

    • +4

All S22 variants in Australia are using snapdragon based on my understanding. I understand you are saying stay away from S21, just in case people read this and get confused about s22

      • To be fair Snapdragon 8 gen 1 not too far away “better”, some scenarios perform worse than 888

  • +1

Would it be worth to pickup to use as trade in later?

    • Pro tip: you don't actually need a phone to trade in. Just an imei

      • that still works?

  • +3

Note that this website seems to be like a marketplace like eBay. Sellers are all different so YMMV depending on who supplies the item

Very good quality? If the quality is any good, there will not be any refurbs.

    • Hi, please read either the description i put up or the website for what their definition of "very good" quality is.

Also, refurb & resale of good (and higher) quality electronics happen all the time. Some people just always want to have the latest and greatest, so whenever the next gen phone comes out they trade in their old one and get the latest….guess what happens to their old one, it becomes a "refurb" and gets resold. So i wouldn't excatly rule out that good quality stuff doesn't get refurb…

      • -1

Ummm ok. My definition of refurbished is "repaired for resale".

        • +1

Unfortunately that's not only what refurbished means….sometimes refurbished can be as simple as wiping/factory resetting and cleaning the device.

        • Curious, why do you use a different definition to Australian English?

Doesnt that get confusing? For example, if you want to make your lounge room 'look better' but not "for resale", what word do you use?

  • This phone is still pretty good, I believe MKBHD (one of the biggest tech review channels on YT) still uses this phone as his daily.

    • +1

because he has the snapdragon model, we only got it from S22s AFAIK.

    • He also quite famously uses his phones as a social media device and camera too; rarely carries a laptop.

  • I have bought an excellent condition iPhone in past but I wouldn't even consider "good" for the price, but you can return it within 30 days though you have to pay for shipping. I returned it, had sand and dirt in mute button and charging port, volume buttons were not clicky. Had a few scratches too.

    • …it said free return shipping, however that might be for the 14 day return policy they have?

  • +1

original might have been a pricing error, but price just went back up to $859….i'm pretty happy on my $585 price now

  • No way will this be good. Worth far more second hand. Especially in decent condition.

  • Seems it was a price error. Very good 859 from what I see

  • -1

If you've ever tried to repair one of these yourself you'd know it's never the same again afterwards. I have been given refurbed phones twice through insurance claims and they have both had issues and that was 'manufacturer refurb' whatever that means. Samsung and Apple spend an enormous amount of design time on deliberately making these devices borderline impossible to repair without causing significant damage. They want people to buy new phones. By the looks of these comments the devices aren't even refurbished with new parts. Go for a second hand phone that has not been taken apart.

    • I'm pretty sure these phones have not gone through the refurbishing you're thinking. Replacing a screen and reselling it isn't profitable with flagships. These are merely wiped and wiped down.

      • I don't know on what you base this claim but there are plenty of companies who do this. Assume they pay retail pricing for the repair (which they don't) and buy a iphone 12 with smashed screen for 330 repair for 200 sell for $1000. Plenty of margin there. These numbers taken off their website.

    • Not every phone sold has been repaired, many are just traded in upgrades with nothing wrong, similar to buying phones off FB marketplace

      • "We accept Phone in any condition" Stated on their website. What's not stated on each listing is whether the phone has been opened up.

        • -1

It's true that they don't state if the phone has been opened, but they have clear levels of condition on the site aswell as some metrics to use as a guide.

If that doesn't do it for you, i bought 1 of these and this is what i received:
          https://imgur.com/a/qIrpORx

Overall its the best deal iv ever had on a phone, it still has warranty and it's cheaper than the broken ones on fb marketplace.

  • it says 1 free plant for me if I buy this phone, I wanna see the proof of the tree first

    • aha yeah, that was the deciding factor for this purchase for me

      • -1

i love virtue signalling so much!

  • +1

I suggest to avoid and buy a brand new

  • Was that a typo? Website says $858 for very good condition.

    • seems like it

    • Not a typo on my part, but i reckon the website had a pricing error. Because i managed to put an order through for $585, Even got the order confirmation email.

  • So made an order they took the money but no confirmation email? anyone know how long it takes to come through if it was instant?

    • -1

i received my confirmation email within 10 minutes

It came from the email [email protected]

However gmail did auto-categorise it into the "promotions" folder, so i had to go find it

  • +5

Pretty sure part of being ozbargain hunters are the thrills of waiting for weeks , not knowing how the orders going , no replies by customer service , delivery delays , price errors , returns and refunds not accepted .( not in particular about this posting )

    • +2

      First time?

      • Added to dictionary

    • +1

Nope, some of us outright avoid anything like that.

  • +1

    Got mine already

    • me to! send me photos of what yours looks like, this is what i got:
      https://imgur.com/a/qIrpORx

      • mine is near perfect with screen protectors all around. only scuff is near a the camera (not on the lens itself) hardly noticeable. This is basically A grade for me.

  • +1

I just got mine, i'm genuinely very impressed, has 2 scratches on it.
1 on the front that's so small and shallow that i honestly can't see without looking REALLY closely, could only really see it after looking through my jewellers loupe its small enough that my camera on my old phone can't pick it up
1 slightly larger and visible scratch on the back on the embossed area for the camera. (lenses not impacted)
Powers on and working perfectly so far.

    Some surprises:
    - Genuinely surprised by how good the quality was for a refurb
    - Very quick shipping
    - Also came with a charger (wall plug and cable), i expected only the cable. Note: The charger is not samsung branded

All photos here for your viewing via imgur

    • Got mine too! Looks great!
Now, what screen protector to buy…

  • got mine too, weird got no email saying it had been shipped, looks great no scratches whoever had my phone must have kept it in a protective case from purchase! and the battery seems great, maybe I lucked out, but yeah the no tracking info not sure what happened there also didn't need to sign for the package as it was just left at my door.

but yeah for 565$ for an s21 ultra cheering.

  • also, did anyone else check the model of their phone mine appears to be the European version SM-G998B with has the Exynos 2100

    • How to check?

    • +1

yeah mine's the same model number, but are you sure that model is European?

      • +1

Yeah found all the model numbers online and corresponding countries associated with the numbers

        • Interesting, i just did some research, came across this:
          https://www.techwalls.com/samsung-galaxy-s21-ultra-sm-g998-m…

I had a look at the difference between the AU and the EU one (chipset and cell bands)
Turns out there is literally no difference, we get the same processor and cell band capability here as they do there.

But still a good spot that its from europe.

  • go to setting about phone

    • mine is the same model

  • Is anyone worried about keyloggers etc or are you going to wipe it ? Considering these days people have everything on there. Email, text, authenticator etc.

    • +1

I factory reset mine as soon as i got it. I didn't suspect it to have any "bad stuff" on there, but this is just common practice for me for anything i get 2nd hand or refurbished.

I believe that nowadays with all the data that's being taken from us (from all companies and areas of the world), worrying about a small Australian phone refurbishing business is the least of my worries.

Also, i'm more concerned about the bloatware and pre-installed apps the phones have on them rather than keyloggers and such.

      • +1

Cool I might have a look at a refurb. $585, that was a good price you got it at !
