Must be bum's rush time since they're giving tickets away. Family ticket also discounted 50%.
Any freebies at these shows or are people paying for the privilege of getting marketed at and buying shit at a mark-up amidst the hype of a show.
This is more to buy items for baking. Great for small business.
The Sydney show was terrible unfortunately… hall was way too large for the few exhibitors/vendors and it felt empty. Freebies were limited to tastings at some exhibitors and random giveaways at the guest presentations. I only saw some candy being thrown in to a crowd, not sure if there were more exciting giveaways.
Hopefully things are different for the Melb show!
Melbournes show is going to be amazing.
They have Cas cakery, Bikkie smalls and so much presenting on stage.

yeah, most of these shows are about being able to market / sell their stuff, so strange that they charge for the privilege …. but for free i will see what they have to offer ……

What can one expect to see at a show like this?

Went last time in Melbourne for free with the last deal (I think it was pre-covid?).
It was definitely something to do, but was just local 'Etsy'-type vendors trying to hawk their expensive craft stuff, plenty of 'alternative health' type stalls selling apple cider vinegar, tumeric and magic beans, with the expected pinch of MLM 'huns'.
There were next to no cakes for actual sale, which was the big takeaway for us - why would you have a cake show and not be able to eat cakes?
The best part was the display of creative shaped cakes. We took a few pics and left, only spent maximum an hour there.
No cake in a cake show?
You’ve pretty much summed it up. This show is so people can buy stuff for cooking and cake decorating. It isn’t the Good Food and Wine show with a lot of tasting options. The decorated cakes are the highlight.
There are some celeb chefs doing stage presentations.
What's the going rate for magic beans? I have a cow I can trade for them.

No it's like like a food and wine festival. Yea they will have food/sweets.
But this is more of an expo for people who love to bake or people who run a sweets business. Great to grab stock and grab them on special.
As an events planner all expos, you should be able to get free tickets, cause you are the product. The only expo-ish I've done that you can never get free tix to is comic con & co.
