  • ordered one, will Officeworks normally honour the deal ? Funny that I was charged $1067 on my credit card but order history show full price , but my order on back order so I doubt they will ship it though

  • Ordered the white one, I have screenshots at checkout of the original price. Afterpay says $1067, but Officeworks order details are saying $1607. Damnit, I should have done click and collect.

    • I did click and collect. Showed 1067 got charged 1607

      • same but with deliver

      • -1

I had the same issue, luckily I saved a screenshot after my purchase showing the 1067 price. Already reported to PayPal.

if you cant cancel then just return it when you receive it.

      • Thanks, will do

    • 2 ways. Call customer service tomorrow or wait when your order is ready for pickup

  • Looks like they have fixed it. I was charged $1067 off my credit card. I asked for click and collect too.

  • Had PayPal process error at 1067, when tried again price changed, luckily noticed that

  • Cue "will they cancel orders" "when refund" comments….

    • I bet you're one of those people that "ask to speak to the manager" about getting price matched

  • +1

Ordered and paid $1067 W/Westpac still awaiting order confirmation email

  • I checked out with C and C. $1067 was charged on my CC but I have not received any confirmation email though… Would they honour this?

  • +2

Price changed at the end of the checkout. 1 minute too late. Hope it goes through for those that did manage to get it!

  • +2

Mine was $1067 at checkout, once payment went through it said $1607 and got charged $1607. Congrats to the people who got it for $1067, that's if they get them.

    • Im guessing they wanted to fix the backend price first, before updating the price.

      • my case is the other way.

at checkout it was 1067. afterpay payment gone through with 1067 and then when it went to purchase completed screen it showed 1607.

        afterpay still shows 1067.

no confirmation email from OW yet.

highly likely they will cancel and refund.

Just got an email for order under review, here we go.

    • were you charged 1607 or 1067?

      • 1067

        • +1

so im guessing they will mark orders that got paid as "1067" as "under review" and let the others slide through, hopefully

  • Still waiting for confirmation email…

  • haven't received confirmation email, even thought got charged. I have a feeling it will be cancelled.

  • +2

Got charged $1607 on paypal, good thing I got a screenshot of the order confirmation page at $1067 (printed and pdfed).
What's the best way forward? Dispute with Paypal?

    • +2

See my comment above. Need to see if it will be delivered first

  • Got an email from officeworks

We are currently reviewing your order. Given the current demand, you may experience a delay in receiving an order confirmation.

Once our review is completed, we will send you an order confirmation email and then start the process of getting your order ready.

    • were you charged 1607 or 1067?

    • +2

Basically that translates to "We need some time to finalise our bulk cancellation email to you for a prig error on the item you purchased so we're sending this as a temporary response".

    • I am previous Officeworks employee I believe this email generally means in most cases the automatic third-party fraud detector picked up something on your order.

Where this fraud detector either requires Officeworks employee or the third-party to verify there is no credit card fraud so they can process your order which can result in your order being cancelled if stock of the item disappears before your order is released.

  • So is this price error or the seller will cancel all these orders?

    • +7

I got an automatic refund and cancellation,

"Unfortunately, we have had to cancel and refund your order # 138475752 as it did not meet our customer privacy and security standards when shopping with Officeworks."

      That is a new one.

      • what were you charged?

  • showed $1067 for me but charged $1607 kinda annoying ngl

    • Kinda comes with the territory of making orders on price errors I reckon

  • +1

Did mine through after pay.. Let's see

  • Does Officeworks usually honour price errors?

  • +1

    fk me dead! I missed!

    • how much is it usually?

      • $2149 on JB

    • +22

Why is there always one person who rings and alerts them so that they can proceed to cancel all affected orders?

        • +9

          me no stupid. you stupid.

      • I called to cancel, i didn't mention anything about the price error. same excuse, can't cancel and need to wait for IT

  • +10

Don't waste time, officeworks never honor price error for me, will just cancel the order. TGG normally cancel order and give $20 store credit.

  • +1

If it's too good to be true it probably is.

  • Wtf, looks like they're letting all the 1607 orders through to be delivered tomorrow. Super annoying.

    • and the one paying 1067 on back order. mine is

    • Well, they are getting waaay more sales than they would have if this did not go down. I'm guessing lots of people with either phones they didn't really want, or lots of people with no phone and no compensation.

      • pretty sure a lot ppl will not double check once order placed, then receive it, open it, and none refundable….

        • +1

I called up and they would not let me cancel. Said it's already going through for tomorrow.

Weird how they were able to cancel all the $1,067 orders

          Pretty shady

          • +2

            @takutox: This is NOT ok.

          • +1

@takutox: Don't cancel. They're doing you a favour. After you get the product, call them up and complain. There's enough screenshots on this page to win a dispute

    • How much did you get charged and did you receive a confirmation email?

      • $1607 and confirmation for 1607.

My amex security and checkout was showing $1,067 whole way through.

Absolute bs that they let all these orders go through to delivery knowing there was a bug on their side lol

        • -5

That's f-ed up. They messed up their system and now making us suffer? Not fair.

          • +4

@RTX4080discountpls: The utter entitlement in your statement really takes away from how good this website can be. I mean you knew it was a price error and hence it was most likely getting cancelled. Crying "not fair" is laughable

  • it looks like that people order the white one got charged $1067, green colour got charged $1607

    • Nah, I got green and got charged the $1067. Probably had to do with the timing/ the way the changes rolled out across the site nationwide, CDN and stuff.

I was in Jb hifi earlier to collect S22 Ultra i had ordered through Amazon price match and trade in coupon. Was at billing counter when I saw the post on officeworks pricing and asked staff to price match. She checked and went to get phone and checked with another staff member and they came back and declined to price match saying its error and officeworks won't honour it.

Only legends check ozbargain all the time. Give this man a badge

      • +3

Haha good one… Was exciting 10 mins with my fingers crossed that i save another $400.. But damn missed out..!

        • Nice try. Next time you should price match via JB online chat. I find it way easier than instore or over the phone.

          • @hawkeye93: I tried two different agents via online chat and they both spewed some whack responses.
One said "it's showing as out of stock on my computer" even though it was in stock on mine and in my cart. Then he said "I advise you to buy at officeworks" but couldn't provide a good reason why they wouldn't price match it.
The other agent took about 5 minutes to come back to me (while I had my fingers crossed) and said that because there is "limited quantities then we can't honour the price". I replied that I have three in my cart so it isn't limited but he said nothing they can do.

It was worth a shot and almost paid off, especially in conjunction with additional $500 trade in credit, but was too good of a deal for them to price match

  • Dmn Damn Damn …. Missed it …

    • +1

Missed what? Your time wasted maybe.

Good luck to those who receive it and then try to use Paypal to bat for them at the lower advertised price.

    • You might of got caught for 1607 too lol

    • Sounds like we missed the headaches of getting money backhahah

  • So I went to checkout said $1092 delivered but PayPal has been charged full price?

    No confirmation email or cancellation??

    • same as me

    • You're not alone. Still waiting for some response from officeworks. dayum, what a headache

      • should atleast give us a giftcard like goodguys but nope

  • +3

Would have been best bargain of 2022.

  • Anyone received confirmation email from officeworks? I tried to talk to store they said its invalid ๐Ÿคท

  • I don't even think Officeworks would honour the $1607 let alone the $1067 ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  • For everyone wondering, Jbhifi wouldn't price match on the live chat. I tried with two different agents but got the same fodder responses. Obviously it was below their cost and they'd be losing money on it but was worth a shot. Good luck to everyone who got charged the full price, hopefully you can get them on false advertised price. Sounds like officeworks should have just bulk cancelled all orders rather than trying to put through the orders at full price, could be in breach of ACL s18 there. Good luck on the battle!

    • +2

could be in breach of ACL s18 there

Seriously? From the start we knew it's a price error.
It's like in it to win kind of attitude from most as I see.

      • Issue regarding s18 would be the charging of $1607 when cart showed $1067, not the pricing error itself

        • -1

Its still a genuine technical error.

          • -1

@boomramada: Read up on misleading advertising on ACCC website. Intention is irrelevant

            • @nicholasv:

              Intention is irrelevant

That separate you from First degree to Second-degree LOL

Good luck arguing on that ;)

              https://legalvision.com.au/honour-incorrectly-priced-items/

If a retailer incorrectly prices one isolated product, it is likely an error. In these cases, a retailer can follow their individual store policy to address the mistake. This means that a store may or may not honour incorrectly priced items depending on their policy, and will not have to sell the product at the wrong price. Store policies are usually displayed at the cash register, or contained in terms and conditions (for online businesses).

And then refer to this https://www.officeworks.com.au/information/policies/terms-ofโ€ฆ

We reserve the right to reject your order for products or services purchased through the Website for any reason, including but not limited to if the products or services are not available, if there is an error in the description or price of the requested products or services as advertised on the Website or if there is an error in your order. If we reject your order, we will notify you by email of our rejection at the time you place the order or within a reasonable time thereafter and give you the option of reconfirming your order, changing your order or cancelling your order. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat the order as cancelled. If your order is cancelled and you have already paid for your purchase, you will receive a full refund.

              • @boomramada: Wonder when did they change this?

Isn't in the old days retailer have to honor incorrect pricing even at a lost?
