  • Points are in here as well ;)

    • can you give us some more stats on your experience

when did you apply - when did you get approved - and when did you get the velocity FF number request email?

  • Got my points as of yesterday

    • can you give us some more stats on your experience

when did you apply - when did you get approved - and when did you get the velocity FF number request email?

      • Just had a look at my emails:
        - 15/07/22 Applied
        - 20/07/22 Got the Welcome email and welcome email. Didn't get any queries about more information needed for the approval.
        - Couldn't find the email but from memory, it was 3.5/just under 4 weeks after the welcome I got an email requesting my Velocity No.
        - 21/10/22 points appeared and backdated to 18/07/22.

Was a pretty smooth process I found, didn't have to chase anyone up on anything.
Am an existing NAB customer so that might have helped with the application process (Citi retail being NAB now) since they can see everything. Noticed the credit check was done by NAB and not Citi as well.

    Points for you,
    Points for me,
    Points for everyone!!

Called Citibank up to get a final payout figure, was told that the closure team will get in touch within 3 business days to close the account.

  • Got my points yesterday and booked flights to Egypt. Not a bad way to spend $200 + some interest costs

    • can you give us some more stats on your experience

when did you apply - when did you get approved - and when did you get the velocity FF number request email?

      • My experience was quite similar to others who have posted their ‘stats’ on this thread. I don’t have specific dates sorry.

The points just landed in my account one day fyi . Never got an email to say I got them.

        • did it take close to the full 90days they advertise, or was it much earlier? for the points to credit

  • 2 statements are done.
Is the usual wait period 3 statements?
When points get credited do you receive an email notification or just get credited into the velocity account?

  • Hello all, I have not yet received any email requesting my velocity number.
Applied on 13 Aug >> Approved on 16 Aug >> Activated on 22 Aug.
Should I call their customer care and enquire?

    • Have you checked your junk?

      • Didn't check properly. Did it land in junk for you?

  • Just got the email requesting my velocity number. Let's see how long it takes!

  • Received email requesting frequent flyer number just then.

  • Also got the e-mail request for Velocity number, five months after activating my account

Applied 22 August, approved 8 September, finally got email requesting Velocity number 40 minutes ago!

  • Btw, I got an offer to spend $1k from 1 Nov - 31 Dec, to get $100 woolies/myer/JB giftcard, may as well doing it (though they'd probably send the giftcard 6 weeks later, so need to keep the account opened)

    • I got $300 for a $50 gift card

      • Likewise.

      • Do you get charged extra interest if you use $300 from the loan?

        • I think so but I will know for sure when I get my statement in a week or so. I only left the $300 outstanding for a few days to test out this precise scenario.

      • Did you avail it and how long for a gift card to be issued?

    • Did you get the bonus points after doing this? Partner had an offer for spend $300 get $50 GC. Meant to his points ages ago and still waiting. Called and they said it’s either the GC or points, so they’ve essentially forfeited the points for taking up a promo.

  • Approved 14th Oct, and got email request today.

    • Got 150k points today.

  • Still no points. Got my 3rd statement.

    • in the same boat

    • Same here. Did you receive the email asking for velocity number?

      • Yeh. Got the email back in sept.

    • Strange.i had gotten 100k but not the 50k

  • Received my points, hoping I will receive my wife’s soon too (family sharing)

    • Got my points too. Now to work out how to close this thing

  • Good start to the day. Got my points too right after the third statement.

  • Set this up in Sept Approved in Oct and just got my points

  • Yay got the points today as well!

  • My wife is still waiting on points, anyone else in the same boat?

    • +1

Same!! I submitted my velocity number on 5th September.

      • You should chase that up then. I submitted my Velocity number on November 2 and got the points around November 20

        • Just gave them a call, their generic response is that it is still within 90 days. The form was filled out for her November 3rd.

Still weird that I filled out the form November 2nd and received on the 22nd.

  • Still no points. Had my 6th call with them in the last 2 months and today I get told I have to wait another 10 weeks in addition to the 90 days!!! This is some BS I’ve haven’t seen in my life.

Would the financial ombudsman be my next escalation point?

    • @TomGum Did you get anywhere?

      • +1

Finally got the points today!! What a nightmare!! Maybe Santa got involved!!

  • Loan approved on Oct 7
VFF number provided on Nov 2
150K points received on Dec 12

    • Damn, similar dates but no points yet

  • Has anyone availed the $50GC with $300 spend?
If so how long it took for them to issue one?

    • Why don't you tell us by doing it yourself?

      • I have availed it but no GC yet…checking in whats the wait period?

    • I had my $50 sent already.

      • Oh and what was the wait period?

    • Is the $300 spend retail spend only? It says cash advances as well.. does that mean I can simply transfer money?

    • Forgot to activate and lost my card, am so lucky lol

  • Is anyone else still waiting on the points?

    • +1

      Yup, signed up in October

    • 3 months from the time you provide your Velocity number

  • I applied for this loan a few days before 30 September, activated it on 2 November, and have been on several calls with Citibank.

At first they told me I am eligible, but by the 4th call in, they changed their story to say I don’t qualify because I didn’t apply for the scheme. Both my friend and I used the same link and she has gotten her points.

Apparently there’s nothing against my profile to say I qualify for the points.

Anyone else in a similar boat?

    • Did you fill out the form for the points when emailed it?

My wife has not received points yet and all responses have been generic. As per their generic response on timeframes my wife is owed points by February 1st.

      • How long did it take for your wife to receive the form for points?

They said 6 weeks and it’s been 8 weeks now.

Their answers are so generic and repetitive, it’s like they’re not listening to a word you say.

    • Threaten AFCA

    • If your added your Velocity on 2nd of November you need to wait until 2nd of Feb for the points, I'm in the same boat regarding points.

      • They haven’t sent me an email requesting my velocity number. All correspondence has been over the phone.

The last manager I spoke to told me it’s my word against their system and they’re not going to believe me? Very bizarre considering their customer service reps in the past have told me I qualify and that I just need to wait for the email.

I’ve emailed the AFCA member one week ago but haven’t heard back anything yet.
