If you’re a PC and Switch gamer, it’s really awesome. You can change mode with the switch at the back instead of needing to pair everytime you switch from console to PC and vice versa.
Also can save the Nintendo layout (swapped A/B and X/Y) as a profile and use it without needing to remap the buttons in other software

    • +3

Had mine for about a year and I never knew about those profile layouts. Damn..
This would have been so useful whenever playing a steam game that uses Xbox prompts that I have zero muscle memory for 😅

      • FWIW the Switch mode should also just work with Steam over USB.

  • +5

Good price! But I already have more than enough controllers for 8 players…

    • I have enough controllers for 50 players on the Switch

      • +16

        Now to find 49 friends…

  • +1

    Nice find

  • Anyone has a spare code that they don't want to use could please share?

    • How do you get a Perks voucher?

    • +2

Not sure if the welcome code is tied to the JB account, but given how the perks code they gave out on 1st July wasn't, it will probably be the case for this too.

Don't think anyone will be willing to waste their own phone number to sign up and give other people the welcome code tho… lol

  • +3

When was the latest per voucher sent out?

I received one on 1/7 but it expired on 8/7 already and don’t have a new one yet.

    • +1

Ok well seems like that's where I got up to as well, considering it as $59 then, still a great price

    • +1

Everyone received a welcome perk code when they first created their account. Those are the only valid perk code available for this deal.

      • +1

Thanks, created a new account and got a new voucher.

  • If you buy 2, are both able to bluetooth to the PC at the same time? e.g. play some 2 player game?

Also has anyone tried this with Yuzu?

    • +1

Haven't tried with this controller specifically, but my 2 Xbox controllers pair fine through Bluetooth to my PC. So does 1 Xbox controller and 1 8bitdo SN30 Pro. Local 2 player NBA 2K on PC that is.

    • +6

Works fine with PC. I connect 4 to my PC no issues.

      Can't comment on Yuzu.

    • +1

I've used a single Pro 2 with Yuzu with no issue, but haven't tried 2. I have had the Pro2 and Pro+ connected to my PC at the same time.

  • +1

Sux doesn't work on the xbox1

    • No 3rd party wireless controller exists for the Xbox One.

  • +2

AMAZING controller. Using it on windows, android, switch and my ipad.

    • Is it better than the ps5 controller for PC? I play Warzone and ff7

      • It has native support for PC, so you don't need to use the extra software you use to get the PS5 controller working.

If you have a working PS5 controller I'd keep using that over switching to a Pro 2. Would be my preference at least.

      • +1

I would say it is but it's personal preference. Advantages of the Pro 2 is that it pairs seamlessly with PC, has an app that you can customize dead zones, buttons layouts, macros, etc, and the dpad is excellent. There isn't any advantage to the PS5 controller for me, the buttons, triggers and sticks on par with the Pro 2. You can't use dual sense and the touchpad is mostly pointless. Not sure if you can get audio from it on PC but the Pro 2 does lack a 3.5mm jack and mic.

  • Awesome cheaper than the Amazon deal last week with the voucher.

    • +1

The Amazon deal last week was matching the jb price, it been on special at jb for a week or so. That post links to the same deal. This is only beneficial if you have a perks voucher, that and amazon is sold out now.

  • +1

thanks for the jb perks thing. didn't know that exist. snapped one!

  • Works great on PC and switch (although can't wake the switch from sleep). Couldn't get it to work on MacOS though.

  • +1

cool, have got a black pro but not a pro 2, grey looks alright so grabbed one :)

    • It has the programmable back buttons! Not a fan of the letters on the buttons on this model though.

      • yeah, seems to be the main difference, extra button in the middle for something? and the physical switch on the back for changing the mode is a welcome change! no more having to remember which button combination when powering on to switch modes!

  • Does anyone know if this is better than a PS4 controller for PC? Besides the extra rear triggers and macros, are the d-pad and buttons nicer or worse?

    • I prefer it over the DS4 for PC, find it more comfortable. Has a great dpad too

  • Has anyone tried this with Google ChromeCast/TV? It looks like BT gamepads are a hit-and-miss with that device.

    • +1

      Works perfectly.

Too much latency lag with Bluetooth. I rather get the wired version

    • I haven't noticed an issue… or you could plug it in via usb

      • It's not a issue to most people but some people are more sensitive to latency than others.

        8bitdo pro 2 Bluetooth wireless average: 23ms
        8bitdo pro 2 Bluetooth wired usb c: 14ms
        8bitdo pro 2 official wired version: 4ms

This is my own test results on PC.

I grew up with CRT monitors TVs and I'm very sensitive to latency. Even a small amount bothers me it's not just the numbers I can feel the difference.

        • +1

I grew up with CRT monitors TVs

Age hasn't caught up with you yet? I certainly find my reaction speed to be much slower now than what I was gaming on CRTs.

        • Did you find a good deals on the official wired version? Is it missing any features from the Bluetooth version?

    • +1

have never had a lag issue with 8bitdo controllers, they are very good, but if you think its an issue just plug it in and use it wired - no need for a specific wired version

      • +1

        Official wired version is faster.

        8bitdo pro 2 Bluetooth version wired 14ms

        8bitdo pro 2 official wired version: 4ms

It's not just numbers I can feel the difference too.

I purchased both and did my own testing I will be returning the Bluetooth version back.

        • reckon the 8bitdo SN30 Pro USB will be 4ms too?

          • +1

@dajackal: I can't guarantee it because I only did testing on the 8bitdo pro 2 USB. But I would guess it would be similar and definitely faster than the Bluetooth version

    • no lag with the switch in my experience using the older SN30 Pro. maybe it's a niche case with whatever device you're hooking it up to.

  • Is that work for tesla?

  • Decent deal. I’ve heard good things about this brand. Picked it up yesterday.

Unfortunately it had a bung trigger, so I’ve had to get it exchanged. Fingers crossed the second one’s more reliable.
