  • Nice price

  • What does it do?

    • Looks like a wireless access point or router

    • One cool thing to use them for is to stream your itunes to other parts of the house just plug your speakers into the Airport and then use your iphone/ipad to send your tunes to them :)
Cheap way to achieve multi room audio

      • That what i plan to use it for - I also have an apple tv which does the same thing, but through your tv :)
They are also so simple to use!!!

  • Can this be used to extend the range of a non apple wireless network?

    • I believe so, yes

      • -3

can do this with the Tenda A5, 802.11b/g/n & looks similar, for <$25 inc p/p off Ebay.
And other wifi repeaters $30 up.

        • This does more then that though

      • While I'm sure there is a work around, the Apple info sheet on the express states categorically that: "AirPort Express can extend the range only of an AirPort Extreme or AirPort Express wireless network" See:

        http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/features/wi-fi.html

    • If extending wirelessly, your router must support WDS. If extending using ethernet cables, then any router can be extended.

Which is ok if you can pick up. Otherwise add postage. $14 to Melbourne.

  • $99 is the usual refurb price on the Apple store (which has free postage).

  • I've heard that there might be a new version of the Apple Airport Express coming out soon.

Wonder if that's why they're discounting current stock and not replenishing?

    • There wouldnt be mich more that they could add

  • Do we still need it for $99 when the new one is available? :)
I got an old spare one …
