    • Yes if you do not price match

  • @WookieMonster: Do you know if these ultimate gift cards can be added to PayPal? And can you split payment between PayPal and a credit card on TGG webstore? I want something worth $1500 from TGG. Thanks

    • +1

Do you know if these ultimate gift cards can be added to PayPal?

I just tried and it did not work.

And can you split payment between PayPal and a credit card on TGG webstore?

No. The only type of split payment you can do on TGG online is (1 or 2) TGG gift cards and one other payment method (e.g. PayPal, one debit/credit/prepaid card).

I want something worth $1500 from TGG.

If you want to spend more than $1,000 on TGG online and you want to use more than one TGG gift card, you will need to go into a TGG store and use the Ultimate Home eGift Card to pay for a TGG gift card.

  • ING just blocked my card after I tried to make payment, had to call them to get it unblocked

    • Same i'm on the phone to them now

  • How long does it take for cards to come through after purchase?

  • +1

So if you convert all Ultimate gift cards to JB Hi Fi cards in- store, you can use unlimited JB Hi Fi gifts cards of any denomination online and instore?

  • Anyone know what happens if the merchant cancels the transaction? Do you get refunded back onto the card? Thanks

    • The refund should go back onto the Ultimate eGift Card, as the eGift Card is really just a Visa card that is restricted to a list of participating retailers. However, it may take a few business days before the funds reappear, because that usually happens with Visa transactions.

      • Hi mate is this 100% confirmed? My order went through but realised i didnt actually used the coupon code (lol) so gonna reorder. (And use my current one for JB or something)

        • The FAQ on the Ultimate gift card website says the following…

What happens if an item was purchased with the Ultimate Gift Card and needs to be returned?

Any refunds on Card transactions are subject to the policy of the specific merchant. Refunds may be in the form of a credit to the Card, cash refund or in-store credit. If the Card expires or is revoked before you have spent any funds resulting from a refund (whether or not the original transaction being refunded was made using the Card) then you will have no access to those funds.

Someone else learned (the hard way) that refunds for purchases paid for with Ultimate gift cards can (and usually do) go back onto the same Ultimate gift card. Their anecdote was in relation to JB Hi-Fi, which is relevant to your situation.

  • Is the gift card sent via email? It's been 10 minutes and I haven't received anything..

    • It is sent via email. My eGift Card showed up in three minutes, and that was for a first-time purchase.

      • Hmm weird.. mine stays "In Review" almost 30 minutes now.. Did you check out as guest or made an account?

        • I made an account

          • +1

@WookieMonster: Same.. pretty bummed if I'm stuck with this amount of voucher.. Fingers crossed it'll go through quickly.

            Thanks mate

      • WookieMonster do you know if you can purchase TGG gift cards online with this?

  • Can someone help me with this. I bought the egift card and activated it. I am trying to use it on goodguys website but can't. Do i use this as a credit card or gift card.

    • Credit card only. Hope you put the perfect amount on it and weren't planning on making part payment by any other means.

Egift card for the 19th century…

      • i bought the egift card for $382 and trying to purchase the Airfryer for the same amount. While I was purchasing it said it can be used as a credit card.

        • Nicely played. I presume it all went through as expected?

          Happy frying…

          • @UncleRico: nope….can't use it as a credit card….still trying to figure out how to use it

            • @ck009: If you still have problems, the other option is head to the TGG in store and convert them to physical TGG gift cards

              • @BargainsGrabber: i am using the GC details in credit card section. card number, expiry (12/09) and CVV are ok but not sure what to use as the name.

                • +5

@ck009: That expiry date you gave is incorrect. It should be 07/2025, because an Ultimate eGift Card expires three years from the date of issue, and Blackhawk Network / Heritage Bank set the expiry date used for purchases accordingly.

(If you ever use a physical Ultimate gift card for an online purchase, the expiry date you use in that scenario is 12/2029.)

  • +1

    Thanks for sharing.

Is there any way to convert these ultimate gift cards to Woolworths or Coles gift cards to buy food?

I need to buy some lettuce before buying anything else, I did some research and couldn't find anything

    • +1

      No worries

Nope haha, only the list of participating retailers on the table are eligible :)

      • +2

Thanks, no more lettuce for now

  • Just confirming I got this for the Pixel 6a just now, bringing price down to $606.
I had to call the bank to confirm giftz was real after they suspended my card. I had to turn off Avast so that myprepaidcentre would load. Then I used the Teens card as a credit card on JB and just got my email confirmation.

If someone is stealing all my money rn I probably deserve it.

    • so it doesn't matter which ultimate gift card you buy, they all work on JB for any item or specific only?
I bought a teen by accident but need the home to buy a tv

      • The retailer that you need need to match with the list of participating retailers on different Ultimate eGift cards

      • Teen has JB on it - see the list in the OP

  • I made a $500 ultimate active gift card purchase.
I have the card number, CVC, exp date and PCN, but can't add it to my profile as it says the card isn't activated with the PCN I typed in.
Anyone been able to add their card to google wallet?

  • Any idea on why I can't save my Visa debit card details on Giftz? Every time I enter my details and press save, it says 'Internal Server Error'. I checked their FAQ and it says 'We accept debit and credit cards from Visa® and MasterCard.' so it should work right?

    • What Visa card details are you trying to save on Giftz.com.au? Is it the card you are going to use as a payment method on Giftz.com.au, or is it the Ultimate gift card you (presumably) just purchased?

      • Yep, payment method on Giftz.com.au. For some reason it wouldn't save on my account. I bought a $5 Ultimate gift card to test and it works, but somehow my card details doesn't save haha.

        • Strange. I have no idea why it wouldn’t be working!

          • +1

@WookieMonster: Strange indeed haha, I thought my cards wouldn't be accepted but I'm glad it still processed through at the checkout. Thank you for helping out tho!

  • +9

Hey OP - I negged the deal earlier, ostensibly since this is such a poorly implemented product disguised as a convenient giftcard.

But I've got to say… your (and WookieMonster's) commitment to answering the countless resulting questions - most typically about how to actually use the gift card and commonly resulting in the somewhat cumbersome solution of attending a store in person to convert it into a giftcard that is actually usable in conjunction with other payment methods online - is top notch. The 10% saving doesn't justify the effort or the unusable residual balance in my case, but your efforts to help others get maximum bang for their buck is commendable and appreciated.

Credit where it's due - nicely played. I hope they've got you on commission - you deserve it! ;-)

    • +6

Thanks! I sometimes question my sanity.

If I was on anyone’s commission, it would be OzBargain!

As I said a couple of weeks ago, the biggest issue is that a lot of people think that these gift cards behave just like JB Hi-Fi gift cards or The Good Guys gift cards or EB Games gift cards, but they don’t, and Blackhawk Network doesn’t really make a lot of effort to clearly explain how they work and how you should use them. Hopefully my efforts in copying and pasting posting handy tips helped a few people (especially before they purchased any Ultimate gift cards).

      • +3

        Definitely :)

Full credit to you for all of the hard work to set up the discounted e-gift card page as well as your prompt responses on the Colesworth deals every single week

I think that’s the exchange portal for Celebration gift cards, not Ultimate gift cards.

This is the exchange portal you should be using: https://exchangeyourcard.com.au/

If you want to see which participating retailers are on the Ultimate gift card exchange portal, head to the webpage for your Ultimate gift card on the Ultimate gift card website. Under see how you can shop with our partners below, select Exchange Card.

Just tried to buy a $500 GC at JB with the ultimate card and it went through then got cancelled, great. Now I have a $500 card stuck unusable and will miss the JB 10% off. Pretty crap system that you cant swap. I bought two wanting to purchase something worth $700 so couldn't use both in the visa section.

    • did you receive a confirmation email that your JB order was placed?

      • Order canceled email. Even used Apple Pay. Balance is $0 on Ultimate portal.

We have not processed any payment
However please note that a pre-authorisation may still appear in your account as a pending transaction which is usually released by your bank within 1 - 3 business days.
        Why has this happened?
Our verification process is crucial in protecting your online purchases with us. The verification of online orders is a necessary measure for the type of goods you have ordered due to the frequency at which illegal transactions are made by unauthorised persons, who are not the original cardholder.

Just got an immediate block on my account by trying to purchase using my ing card, damn.

    • Join the party.

Seems as though ING thinks Giftz.com.au is dodgy.

      • +1

WookieMonster if you also have a failed Ing order can you please let me know the order number via PM. Thank you and thank you for all your responses on this thread!

        • I didn't use an ING card for my purchase earlier today (which went through fine and I got my eGift Card in three minutes). Thanks for checking though (and thank you for your kind words!)

You may want to check with these folks though, as it looks like they used ING cards too.

    • Hi Twocuptebag, would you mind sending me your order number via private message as I am going to report this to our payment processor so we can contact Ing about these fails so this doesn't keep happening. Thank you!

So I bought 2x $500 JB Gift Cards using this 'visa gift card'. Saved $100 on my purchase

  • +6

I truly share the sentiments of @Unclerico on how poorly this product can be implemented. Yet, if you just follow the instructions via their FAQ, it’s doable. Was able to purchase $3000 from giftz, added it to my apple wallet then purchased a fridge, washing machine and a dryer at The Good Guys INSTORE and it worked like a charm. Saved a lot with their current 15% code as well.

Only annoying time was when i was redeeming the vouchers, as you need to do it individually from giftz to myprepaidcentre.

    Thanks OP!

    • +1

Bought 1.7K worth of Apple cards with the Teen cards today in store at JB, worked like a treat.

      • May I know how you spend those apple cards

  • In order to use 2 gift card on good guys online store , is that possible ? Also do I convert home ultimate gift cards to tgg gift cards or directly use the ultimate card? Plz can someone answer , thanks in advance

    • +1

You can use max of 2 physical gift cards online at TGG. These Ultimate Home in this deal are prepaid Visa cards. You can’t do split payment using a Visa card, meaning that you would need the full amount on one Ultimate Home eGift card.

See this comment :). A workaround is:

You will need to convert at least some Ultimate eGift Cards into TGG gift cards first. The only way you can do that with TGG is to go to a physical TGG store and use an Ultimate eGift Card as pay for a TGG gift card. You can only redeem 2x TGG gift cards online in conjunction with 1x Ultimate Home eGift Card, so plan accordingly.

      • i have 2 ultimate gift cards amounting 1760($1000 + 760). The item i want to buy from good guys website is exactly $1760 so do i convert ultimate into TGG gift cards or can i just directly use those 2 ultimate card worth $1760 on a single transaction on the good guys website?

        • +1

You would need to head in store to convert them into TGG gift cards. At this rate, you might as well use the Ultimate Home eGift cards in store

The reasons that you can’t use it (or convert them into TGG gift cards) online are:

          • Ultimate Home eGift cards are prepaid Visa cards, and you can only use one eGift card per transaction
          • TGG online sells TGG gift cards through a third party (True Rewards)
  • can i not use https://exchangeyourcard.com.au/ to convert into TGG gift card?

    • You cannot, because TGG does not participate in the exchange portal, which can you see on the Ultimate gift card webpage for the Ultimate Home gift card.

    • +1

To add onto WM’s comment, these are the current participants for the exchange portal for the Ultimate Home:

      • The Iconic
      • BBQ Galore
      • Dusk
      • Star Car Wash

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12455295/redir

      • thanks for your help, so you suggest add both ultimate cards to google wallet and pay instore for the item? or just buy TGG gift card instore using ultimate home cards and then use them

        • The former should work :)

I managed to buy TGG gift cards using multiple Ultimate Home eGift cards in store, so I would assume it should be the same if purchasing an item

          • @BargainsGrabber: sorry one last question, do u know if i can convert 2 ultimate home cards($100 and $760) into one good guys gift card for $1760 at the store?

  • Hey OP great deal!

Do you know if it's possible to use these gift cards to purchase amart furniture in-store? Do I just show them the gift card number or something?

      Hey mate,

No worries, happy to answer :)

Yup, you’ve to first add these Ultimate gift cards to your mobile wallet through myprepaidcentre app and treat it as prepaid Visa cards (aka like a debit/credit card) and tap it in store at Amart :)

  • I want to get a gift card to buy several items from jb hifi there are several with jb etc teen, home etc did I hear ultimate?
What’s the difference or does it not matter what you get.
I’m not sure how I’m using it if in store or online so what’s the story?
If I use in store does not matter what’s in the card I believe I can you the gift card and another payment right?
But am I right you can’t use anything apart from the gift card online ie use gift card and your say debit card.

I have no idea how much my items are or final price so can’t really get the correct amount but I’m sure I read you can convert your card into a jb hifi e-gift card?

But I thought you could not use these to buy gift cards from jb? Or people have but it got rejected.

Obviously I’m looking to use the current 10% which ends tomorrow and last thing I need is to try and convert the gift card into a jb e-gift card and gets rejected and missing out on the 10%.

Is it when you convert more than one of these cards or certain amount into an jb e-gift card there are issue or just pot luck.

I want to take advantage of this gift card promotion and jb hifi 10% without any issues but I yet not sure how I use possibly good chance in store.

    Please advise thanks

    • Hey mate,

Yup as long as any of the Ultimate gift cards listed have JB on it will be eligible to be used

If you’re using them online, keep in mind of this comment from WookieMonster:

You can only redeem one Ultimate Home eGift Card per online transaction at JB Hi-Fi, because JB Hi-Fi treats them as Visa cards, and you can only redeem one Visa card per online transaction.

Alternatively, you can swap these Ultimate gift cards into a physical JB or any other gift cards in store:

It depends on what your local JB Hi-Fi store stocks, but I remember seeing the following gift cards at my local JB Hi-Fi store about a month ago (and this is based off memory, so I would advise you to call your local store and ask them what they currently stock):

      • Apple
      • iTunes (yes, that’s not a typo)
      • Google Play
      • PlayStation
      • Xbox
      • Stan
      • Steam
      • Roblox

Personally, I’ve managed to swap them for Apple gift cards at JB using these Ultimate gift cards. Make sure you tell them it’s a prepaid card, and not a gift card as it goes through the EFTPOS system

      Hope that helps :)

      • But would there be any point in me trying to buy a jb hifi gift card for the same value in store when I have items to purchase at the time.
When you say I need to tell them it’s a pre paid card I thought you could not buy cards for cards. I’m sure my stores ask’s what I’m using to pay ie card.
I believe trying to convert it to a jb hifi e-gift card online is risky and can result in failed.

It’s possible my purchases will most be in store but I might need my options open just incase.

But does seem a lot of work for staff buying a jb hifi card in store with your card from here which I take any of the cards that shows jb or has to be ultimate?
As there are home, teen cards etc

        • But would there be any point in me trying to buy a jb hifi gift card for the same value in store when I have items to purchase at the time.

Yup, you can just straight up use your Ultimate egift cards in store at JB. Make sure you’ve added them onto your mobile wallet first

When you say I need to tell them it’s a pre paid card I thought you could not buy cards for cards. I’m sure my stores ask’s what I’m using to pay ie card.
I believe trying to convert it to a jb hifi e-gift card online is risky and can result in failed.

You can’t convert a gift card to another gift card. This is different. The Ultimate cards are prepaid gift cards. Imagine this deal from Coles. You would’ve loaded a value onto the card and just gotta tap it when using

      • In regards to this:

You can only redeem one Ultimate Home eGift Card per online transaction at JB Hi-Fi, because JB Hi-Fi treats them as Visa cards, and you can only redeem one Visa card per online transaction.

What if I ordered say a few of my item online and was below my gift card balance this be ok and can be used multiple times afterwards it’s only when you go over the gift card balance you can’t use something else to pay difference.

        • What if I ordered say a few of my item online and was below my gift card balance this be ok and can be used multiple times afterwards

Yes to this, as long as your cart total is below the total of one Ultimate egift card

  • is the website down????

    • Doesn't work for me and I can't activate my gift card.
I hope it is back before the JB click frenzy deal expires

  • +1

    Thanks.

For me, 4 cards worked, 1 didn't at JBHiFi :(

    • wow what do you do when one doesn't work? You're there at the store, making a transaction and a payment randomly fails.. and then?

      • +1

I ended up paying the remainder with my credit card, I later spoke with giftz and we found the error (it was me, I accidentally tried to use the same card twice rather than the last card with credit) and then I went back to JBHiFi and requested a cash refund for the amount I paid with my credit card and then just paid it with the gift card. They were okay with it and it all worked out for me.
