        • I am very suspect about this giftz card redemption process. It is tooo cumbersome

          • +1

@shegeloaf: Yea it was a bit of a pain but I made a large purchase and ended up saving a little over $400 just with the Ultimate Gift Cards discount and then made additional savings with other discounts that were running at JBHiFi (Click Frenzy & Bundle Deal).

If they only had larger eGift cards than the $1k one it would have been so much easier, the process to activate and add to apple pay is quite cumbersome and the fact you have to do it multiple times was a bit annoying. That followed by making split payments in-store or having to buy gift cards in-store to use online is also quite a pain which could have been fixed with a larger value than the current limit.

But I would still do it again for a large purchase purely cause of the savings.

  • does this gift card counts as visa or a egift card? Thanks guys

    • +1

      Prepaid Visa card

      • Thank you! So if i want to buy things online, what card holder name do i put?

        • +1

          No worries!

See this comment by WookieMonster :)

Cardholder name can be anything, because there is no cardholder name registered with Heritage Bank (the gift card issuer, who works alongside Blackhawk Network on Ultimate (Visa) gift cards).

  • Have anybody actually bought JB GC INSTORE using these UltimateGC(physical and/or egift) recently?
Used to be able to but my recent experience said otherwise. If anybody has had successful experience could you please reply to my comment to confirm it still works? TIA 🙏

    • I was able to last month when I combined this deal with this deal and bought Apple gift cards at JB

      • Yep I’m aware it was still working toward end of last month but a week ago I tried it won’t go thru, so I’m suspecting they might have caught up with it at least at the INSTORE level.

        • +1

Yikes I’m hoping that’s not the case. I was planning to go into JB this wkend to swap $250 of Ultimate Home cards

          • @BargainsGrabber: Please do try and let me know your findings, if somehow it still works then it’s questionable…

            • +2

@noelhoi: I just did it and no questions asked from JB. Bought $230 of Apple gift cards and paid using $225 on Ultimate Home and balance on debit card

              • @BargainsGrabber: Hi BG thanks for your update, but it seems you misinterpreted my question. My aim was to consolidate multiple UltimateGC into a single JB GC for future use (plus bonus of no expiry).
I have 5x$50 older UGC (savings ones) which I’d like to turn into a single $250 JB GC, not any other products (as you mentioned AppleGC). I know you can still purchase AppleGC even any other GC (such as nintendo GC) with it, but my issue is just with purchasing JB GC with it.

                • @noelhoi: Hey mate, my apologies then. Unfortunately I don’t have any Ultimate gift cards left to consolidate into one JB voucher.

However, WookieMonster’s notes still say that you can purchase a single JB gift card in store using many Ultimate gift cards

I’m not sure why your store wouldn’t allow it. I did call my local store to confirm and he said that it shouldn’t be a problem redeeming a JB voucher using Ultimate gift cards as long as it’s on the eftpos network (which it should be already)

    • +2

I can confirm I loaded the card into my Apple Wallet and used it to purchase a Apple Gift Card in-store at JB-HiFi today. Tapped on the credit card machine with Apple Pay like regular and it went through.

      • I know that still works because you are buying a product, my question was in regard to buying JB GC, for the purpose of consolidating older physical UltimateGC that is only usable via EFTPOS>Savings anyway..

  • I messed up the order and bought a 'Style' gift card instead of a 'home' gift card which I want to use at JBHiFi. Can't cancel the order but I sent them an email.

Is it possible for the store to cancel the gift card and send a different one?

    • Generally, sellers cannot cancel gift cards, as they're merely acting as the agent (I.e. seller) on behalf of the gift card issuer. It's especially problematic for Ultimate eGift Cards, as the gift card issuer creates a new Ultimate eGift Card for you as soon as the order is successfully processed by the seller.

However, you could have a chat with the Giftz.com.au employee on OzBargain to see whether they can help you.

  • Is anyone buying these gift cards for later use? I'm just scared if I buy them and won't work down the track. :S Planning to buy around 2k worth. XD

  • +1

I share my experience of this egift card. I purchased Ultimate Home Gift Card hoping to use it to purchase a mobile phone @JB online.
I activated online and tried to use it as online but found out I cannot. I tried to purchase JB gift card online using Ultimate Home Gift Card - transaction went through but immediately it was cancelled due to validation failure at JB HiFi admin side.
So I registered it on Google Pay and headed down to JB Store and purchased the phone I wanted to buy. The transaction at EFTPOS counter was no problem and went through.
After all, it ended up ok and I got what I wanted (not online purchase but had to travel to a store).

I wish this gift card was like SB SuperSwap gift card to swap it with eligible retailers for ONLINE shopping, not online VISA Prepaid card, which gives us unnecessary hardships for a simple online transaction.

  • Purchased 10 gift cards.

6 of the gift cards dont work.
I'm unable to add to my apple wallet, and im unable to View the balance using the PCN code.

    • If you're unable to view the balance of the gift card using the PCN on the MyPrepaidCentre website, it sounds like the gift card has not activated correctly. I suggest you reach out to the Giftz.com.au employee on OzBargain to get assistance.

    • +1

Same, one of the card cannot be added to apple wallet.

      • Have you been able to resolve this?
I contacted MyPrepaidCenter, and they keep trying to tell me its Apple's fault.
Yet it has nothing to do with Apple.

        • Same, purchased two and cannot add either of them to Apple Wallet. They are registered and I can see them on myprepaidcentre.com.au, but error messages on the iPhone say "Could Not Add Card" or "Your Issuer Does Not Yet Offer Support for This Card". Have troubleshooted with Apple (reset, iCloud sign out/in again, check region, postcode, etc). Set up two other cards just fine again, the issue is not with Apple or me! Apple says Blackhawk Network nor BHN are listed as a supported issuer in Australia? Waiting on a support case escalation now and have reached out to the giftz.com.au person here as well…

          • @symean: Mine resolved today.

I was finally able to add them to my wallet.

          • +1

            @symean:

Apple says Blackhawk Network nor BHN are listed as a supported issuer in Australia?

That would because Blackhawk Network is not the gift card issuer.

Blackhawk Network is the product owner. They own the Ultimate gift card branding, they operate the Ultimate gift card website, plus they track and store personal and transaction information.

Heritage Bank is the gift card issuer. They act as a service provider and are responsible for the financial administration associated with the gift cards (e.g. handling payments going through the Visa network). If you're wanting to add a gift card to a mobile wallet, Heritage Bank would be responsible for managing that, not Blackhawk Network.

(This was explained to me by a Blackhawk Network rep on a rare occasion that a Blackhawk Network rep was actually helpful!)

            • +1

@WookieMonster: Thanks Wookie, Heritage are listed as a participating bank with Apple, so that's good. Don't know what else I can do besides keep trying to add it and wait for myprepaidcentre to get back to me…basically tried everything I can think of so far, sounds like an issue myprepaidcentre or Heritage need to fix.

  • darn it, purchased the gift card this morning and took whole day for them to send out the gift card and now the deal from the good guys is expired :((((((( do they do refund on the gift card?

  • I received the gift card but when I click the link to activate (myprepaidcentre.com.au link) it is a broken link
This site can’t be reachedThe connection was reset.

    is this a scam?

    • +1

Nope, majority of us (including myself) have bought it from Giftz either yesterday or today

    • Make sure the link you clicked into is correct. There was a link from giftcardz.com.au to myprepaidcentre.com.au seems to be the wrong one. So i suggest typing the url yourself!

      Hope it helps!

  • +1

    Thanks Op. 1k

  • im noob to gift cards here but i've got a question, is there a expiration date for the gift cards?

    • +2

Three years from the date of issue

      • +1

        sweet. thanks wookie

  • I thought I read somewhere you can pay with PayPal but only see two card options also the zip card if you have used this with same company cant you use again?
    As comes up error.

  • Is the site having issues or just me

    • they have not made a good site. lots of loading issues. Also their android app works once in every 4 hours so good luck adding the GC to your Google PAy wallet.

Im going to see if I can grab a refund.

  • Can someone confirm whether the Ultimate Home card (exact value for the purchase) can be used on TGG Commercial website? Thanks

  • @wookiemonster or bargaingrabber

You might answer this already but I need to ask two scenarios below for $500 value:

    1. Can I use the ultimate home gift card to order and pay online for both Jb Hifi and Good guys COMBINE with their July promo code? then click and collect.

    2. For JB HIFI, I can go to the physical store, apply July promo code and then pay with ultimate home gift card? any tips or instruction?

Thank you so much for your time and help.

      1. Yes. There is nothing in the terms and conditions of the TGG or JB Hi-Fi offers to say you cannot use those offers in conjunction with the redemption of Ultimate gift cards. An Ultimate Home gift card is treated as a payment method, not a coupon code nor a discount offer. The Click Frenzy Julove promo codes are entered into the promo code or coupon code section of the website, whereas the Ultimate Home gift card is entered in the debit/credit card section of the website.

      2. The JB Hi-Fi coupon code deal says it can be redeemed in-store, so you can apply it to transactions in-store at JB Hi-Fi. Here are some tips:

      • You can redeem as many Ultimate gift cards as you want at JB Hi-Fi in-store. (Someone once redeemed 81 TCN/Ultimate gift cards in one in-store transaction, and I've also seen stories of someone else once redeeming 95 in one in-store transaction…)
      • Make sure to remember the PIN you set on the Ultimate gift card, as you may need to enter the PIN into the EFTPOS terminal to authorise the payment request.
      • Tell staff you would like to pay via card, because Ultimate gift cards operate on the Visa network. If you say you want to pay via gift card, you'll confuse staff, as they will nearly always think you're wanting to redeem a JB Hi-Fi gift card (which is redeemed very differently when compared with an Ultimate gift card).
      • How can I use the kids card via jb online? Do I choose credit card option?

        • +1

          You have two options:

          1. Enter the 16-digit card number (starting with 4), the expiry date (which should be 07/2025) and the CVV2 value into the debit/credit card section of the checkout.

          2. Add the Ultimate Kids gift card to Apple Pay, log into the JB Hi-Fi website on an Apple device and then go through the checkout using Apple Pay as a payment method. Make sure to select the Ultimate gift card when using Apple Pay.

          • @WookieMonster: I guess with both of these options I’d have enough in the card as a whole purchase and can’t be paid with multiple cards?

And with option 1, there is no CVV2, I can only find 4 digit pin.

            • @TomGum:

I guess with both of these options I’d have enough in the card as a whole purchase and can’t be paid with multiple cards?

              Correct.

You can only redeem 1x Ultimate gift card online with JB Hi-Fi (or pretty much any other retailer), because JB Hi-Fi (and pretty much any other retailer) will only let you redeem 1x Visa card per online transaction.

And with option 1, there is no CVV2, I can only find 4 digit pin.

Assuming you have associated your Ultimate gift card with your MyPrepaidCentre account and you are accessing it via the MyPrepaidCentre website…

              • Log into your MyPrepaidCentre account.

              • Select the gift card on the account that you would like to redeem.

              • Select Show Card Number. The gift card's 3-digit CVV will be presented to you under the 16-digit card number and above the expiry date.

      • +1

        Thanks WookieMonster.

Just double check. I just found from your other comment that only allow $500. I am going to buy $600 (sorry, thinking to buy a different phone).
        Is this still do able?

        Option 1. ONLINE purchase
        If I understand correctly.
I buy $600 ultimate gift card.
Then go to jb hifi website and buy $500 jb hifi gift card.
Then buy another jb hifi gift card $100

        Option 2. Physical store purchase.
        Buy $600 ultimate gift card
Go to the store, tell the store pay CARD payment.

        Both options okay?

        Thanks again

        • +1

          Option 1

          Nope.

If you are spending an amount that can be covered by 1x Ultimate Home/Teens/Kids gift card on the JB Hi-Fi website (e.g. $600), you're better off directly using the Ultimate gift card to pay for the phone. In other words:

          • Buy a $600 Ultimate gift card from Giftz.com.au (and don't forget to use the promo code!)
          • Go to the JB Hi-Fi website and use the Ultimate gift card to pay for the phone. (Enter the Ultimate gift card details in the credit/debit card section of the checkout.)

Keep in mind that you can select a specific dollar amount for Ultimate gift cards on the Giftz.com.au website. For example, if the phone you want to purchase will cost $599 on JB Hi-Fi's website after applying any coupon codes, purchase an Ultimate gift card with face value of $599.

If your online purchase was over $1,000, you would need to use one or more Ultimate gift cards to purchase one or more JB Hi-Fi gift cards first, but that is not relevant to your situation.

          Option 2

          That works.

  • How soon i get the giftcard after buying it? Is it a digital card or a physical card?

    • +1

The gift cards in this deal are digital gift cards. Giftz.com.au does not sell physical Ultimate gift cards.

I received my gift card via email three minutes after I placed my order (although this was last night).

      • +1

        Thanks

  • +1

Proud owner of a new 14” MacBook Pro! Did this along with the sale on JB. Thank you OP!

  • Since this gift card works as visa card, from where i can buy discounted jbhifi gift cards?

    • +1

The Ultimate gift cards in this deal operate on the Visa network, but they are restricted to the participating retailers listed in OP's description above.

My theory is that Blackhawk Network (the operator of the Ultimate gift card scheme) and Heritage Bank (the Ultimate gift card issuer) use unique identifiers in EFTPOS terminals to determine whether you're at a participating retailer in-store. I suspect Blackhawk Network and Heritage Bank also use similar types of identifiers to tell whether you're attempt to redeem an Ultimate gift card on a participating retailer's website.

Considering I could not add an Ultimate gift card to PayPal and someone couldn't Ultimate Home gift cards to purchase TGG gift cards online through the link on TGG's website, I'm 99.99999999% sure you cannot redeem an Ultimate gift card any discounted gift card portal.

  • Annoying I can’t get zip one time payment card to work this time as I did last time maybe they put a stop to it.
Or has anyone purchased it and used zip card, maybe as I did it last deal I can’t this time?
I’m just curious if the one time zip card number your provided is same one each time.

Also shame they don’t take PayPal and use pay in 4 or even Afterpay.
As would have used these options also.

I’m waiting for some funds to be paid into my account tomorrow and I’m curious as it’s the last day of the 10% gift cards.
I wonder if they will drag it on and delay sending a gift card and then I miss out on the jb hifi 10% off.
Knowing my luck I will purchase a gift card tomorrow and they it will take to long to send it meaning I miss out on jb 10%.

Has anyone done it on the last day before and waited ages or was it instint?

It is a nice saving getting an extra 10% with these gift cards but might not be worth the risk.

  • I can't redeem Ultimate gift card online with Puma, is the site having issues or just me?

    • It’s neither, actually.

Puma only accepts Ultimate Active and Ultimate Students gift cards in their physical stores.

      • Can I redeem Ultimate active card online with adidas, JD Sports, New Balance, Nike?

        • According to the Ultimate gift card page I linked to earlier, no.

I wonder whether you can use an Ultimate Active gift card to purchase a Nike gift card instore and then redeem the Nike gift card online (as an example). That trick works for JB Hi-Fi (as an example), but I’m not sure whether that will work for New Balance, adidas, JD Sports, Nike or Puma. I doubt that trick works at New Balance, because I have never seen a New Balance gift card in an Australian New Balance store, plus I don’t recall the New Balance website mentioning anything about gift cards.

  • @WookieMonster - what do you have to select at eftpos (for Ultimate Home card) at TGG or Barbequegalore - Card or gift card since its coming out of applepay on phone

    • +2

You want to tell staff you want to use a card as a payment method, because the Ultimate gift card in this deal operates on a Visa network.

If the EFTPOS machine asks you to choose between Savings, Cheque or Credit, select Credit.

      • +1

        Thanks @wookiemonster

  • Sorry bit confused here , never have used these giftcards andlooking at buying something close to $1500 on the goodguys commerical site which is quite new to me also , can I buy 1giftcard at $1000 and one at $500 to pay for the item in one go online. cheers many thanks

    • +1

      No.

TGG Commercial only accepts a maximum of 1x Ultimate Home gift card in one transaction. There is no workaround I can think of on TGG Commercial to allow you to spend $1500 using more than 1x Ultimate Home gift card.

You’d have two options (and neither are guaranteed to work):

      • Call the TGG sales hotline (the one for the regular TGG store) and ask them to match the TGG Commercial website. There is no guarantee this will work, but if it works, you can pay using 1x Ultimate Home gift card and up to 2x TGG gift cards on the regular TGG online store. That means you’ll need to go into a TGG store and use 1x Ultimate Home gift card to purchase one or two TGG gift cards. TGG only accepts a maximum of 1x Ultimate Home gift card in one online transaction, which is why you need to use the second Ultimate Home gift card to purchase 1x TGG gift card. There is no guarantee this will work, because TGG officially does not allow you to use Ultimate (or TCN) gift cards to purchase TGG gift cards, but it is up to staff to enforce this restriction. If you only say you want to pay by card when you’re purchasing a TGG gift card, they’ll likely never know that you’re using an Ultimate Home gift card as a payment method…

      • Go into a TGG store and ask them to price match the TGG Commercial website. There is no guarantee this will work, but if it works, you can pay using 2x Ultimate Home gift cards (as long as you have them saved onto a mobile wallet and have set up a PIN on each gift card).

      • +4

The correct option is to call TGG Commercial Sales team and order over the phone. You will receive payment link with Sales order number and the order will get allocated to local store.

You can go to the store to pay in store with that docket. You may have to ask the order to be allocated to store because some order with warehouse stock is not allocated to store.

        • Cheersmany! thanks

  • Buyer Beware:

I tried to Purchase $1k home gift cards for $900 this morning and ING blocked my card for security reasons. called them up and was advised that this site was flagged for fraudulent transactions. Person on the phone read a script for me that If I still go ahead and proceed to buy again, and something goes wrong, they wont be liable for recovery of that money,

This is weird as I have bought a gift card from this website before.

Not sure what to do now.

  • Has anybody had any luck purchasing these via the Zip single-use credit card - always seems to fail for me..
Gives me a transaction declined error

  • +1

I'm so out of the loop as to how this works =(

I think I need the cookie Monster :O

So I bought an Ultimate Students for the Eb Games, go to this site: https://giftz.com.au/pages/check-my-balance
Click the second one for prepaidcentre, and it's asking me for a 19 digit code on the 'back' of the card, except it's a digital card and the only numbers I have is a 16 digit one and a CVV?
    Huh?

Can I just.. awkwardly give these numbers to the clerk at EB and let them input it to check out with it? This is so convoluted and confusing. I thought I could just add this to Stocard or something like very other gift card I buy online =(

EDIT: Ok found that number under the transaction tab of all things (?!?!) but I just keep getting 'Card Activation failed' when trying to input it into that link.
It's still sitting there in my Prepaid Centre account though so is that good to go?

EDIT2: Ok managed to stumble my way through and found the 'exchange' option to just turn it into a proper gift card, was able to wash my hands of all this Visa CVV Wallet requirements etc.
What an ordeal that was, and it only wasted about an hour 20 of my time 🤪

  • got gift card, registered it but was unable to add it to my apple wallet. I successfully added 3 of them but 4rth one is causing an issue. What could be the reason?

    • Was able to add the card but now getting another error on a different card 'Your issuer Does Not yet offer support for this card'

      How to resolve this?

      • I'm getting this on both of my cards…I have an open case with myprepaidcentre. Appreciate you posting any updates, I'll do the same…

        • I simply used them online to get digital JB HF gift cards. Out of 10 cards, 2 cards refused to add in mobile wallet so redeemed them online.

          • @nnaa8287: So you bought one JB card each time, to the same value? I guess they just see it as a purchase of a gift card paying by credit card…

            • @symean:

I guess they just see it as a purchase of a gift card paying by credit card…

              Sort of.

JB Hi-Fi's online payment processor will see that you're using a prepaid Visa card lacking security features (e.g. 3-D Secure). Whether or not it will allow the order to go through will depend on a number of factors, which would explain the reason some people have no problems purchasing JB Hi-Fi gift cards online using Ultimate gift cards, whereas others either have payment declined or orders cancelled and refunded after payment was accepted.

  • I long do the gift cards take to arrive ready to use?

Bought 2 gift cards for good guys commercial purchases one 850 one 600 , spent them both together in one transaction at a normal goodguys shop aka good guys Osborne park Perth .both added to the Google wallet after couple minutes of registering them and the 10percent off shows up in my bank account , worked like a dream really ,no issues with payments what's so ever
Many thanks to the guys above for their awesome feedback and suggestions 👍🙌🙌🙌🙌🙏

    • Did you do it over the phone and go to store to pay? Which number did you call?

      • Straight to the store balls deep in her

        • So the store can place TGG Commercial order for you?

  • In case anyone is having issues adding their gift card to Apple Wallet, save yourself the hassle and try adding it to someone else's iPhone instead. If you care to read on, here is what I had to do to solve it.

Basically, something went wrong the first time I tried to add the cards which stored some incomplete and incorrect data in the wallet for those cards. So on every subsequent attempt to add the cards, it was using the 'corrupted' data that was already present to try and complete the process. I also couldn't delete the existing card data because that also requires communication with the issuer, which was still broken. Catch 22 - can't finish adding the card, can't delete the card and start from scratch!

Solution: I got my partner to add the cards to his wallet and it worked fine. Sweaty palms at the local JB tapping his phone but it worked. Of course that was after 3 hours on calls to Apple, myprepaid and even their card issuer (who insisted they didn't have a relationship with them).

I might be incredibly unlucky but losing a huge part of my day over this and freaking out about $2,000 I seemingly couldn't access will make me think twice before using them again. Good luck!

  • I just bought a $650 Home Card and want to use it at The Good Guys. Only problem is my total is about $15 more. Am I screwed?

Maybe buy like a 15-20 gift card through shopback or something and then the balance with the 650? I think that might work? Good luck.

      • That might work

Worked a treat thanks Yosh. Got a $15 card as I was $14 short, so I only wasted $1.

    • It should work based on the same scenario that I did. I asked to buy 1x $300 worth of TGG gift card and I only had 2x $150 Ultimate Home.

The cashier did split payment of 2 batches of $150 on the EFTPOS machine

      • I'm 2.5 hours drive from the closest store, so trying to do an online purchase. Sorry i didn't make that clear.

No worries, I would suggest follow Yosh1’s comment :)

  • My last order that made yesterday night. It still stuck 'in review' status. I made 4 orders during last 3 days frenzy deal. 3 orders received very fast but last one still waiting. Actually my 4th order made just 1 mins after 3rd and 3rd one delivered very fast. What's wrong?
