Tempted but will wait for next time it’s sub-3k

    • Extra 10% off with Ultimate gift cards

      • Can you pay with 6 x $1000 Ultimate gift cards if purchasing 77" ($6115.75)?

        • Check this

I guess similar applies to TGG, but I haven’t tested.

        • You can call customer care, they will direct your call to the local store, and you will get help. I did this before!

    • I didn't bother waiting and got the Philips 65" with an LG panel for $2249.

    • Do those kind of deals happen very often?

Bought one a couple of weeks ago .
$3035 with $200 gift card and free delivery .
Kind of wish I'd got the 77inch now .

Excellent picture although I would of preferred Google tv rather than LG's webos . You cant install Kodi although the default media player seems ok after trying a couple of 4k rips albeit not high bit-rate .

I bought a Nvidia Shield with the gift card. LG OS is pretty bad.

Yeah, I picked up a 65-inch with the same deal from HN. Such a good price. I would have preferred Google TV too but seeing the rtings review of the A80K, I'm glad I pulled the trigger on this one. I've played a few 60GB 4K movie rips with the built-in player and it's handled them seamlessly over wifi.

      • Hi, can you share more info about playing 60gb 4k movie

      • That's a relief I had my doubts .

    • any vertical banding at all (especially with grey colours)? My Sony OLED from years ago has this, it's apparently not unexpected but I can't stand it. Uses an LG panel so not sure if an OLED thing or not.

Plex also works a treat on Web OS too

  • In Canberra I'm still waiting for stock of a 42" from TGG on the 9th of July.

Why are these so expensive? Are they extra good at something?

    • +5

Go to a store and you'll know which ones are OLED

    • OLED the best and most expensive, second QLED, ULED.

      • +1

Thanks. (Dunno why I got downvoted just for asking.)

    The best TV.

  • Why TV in Australia is more expensive than other country in Asia?

    • You should check OLED prices in some Asians countries like India.

      • OMG it's almost like half price in India!

      • In Thailand LG C2 77" is around 4.5k. Save 1.5k

    • +3

      EVERYTHING is more expensive here.

  • Very keen on the 42" OLED, very bummed that I didn't commit to the buy couple of weeks ago when it was under $1,800

    • Yeah that's an insane price, makes every other deal seem crappy :(

However wouldn't buying it with the gift cards (link in comments above) in theory get the price down to $1835? Not sure if the gift cards would work though, so don't quote me on that!

      • +1

Yeah that’s a fair point but could be a massive risk if there’s a certain limit of cards they will approve.

LG C2 65" is currently selling at a discounted price from USD $2,599 down to USD $2,049 (=AUD $2,981) in US Walmart Stores, which is more expensive than it cost here a few weeks ago (Aud $2835) from Hardly Normal with their $200 bonus gift voucher.

That also doesn't include sales tax so you'd have to add that on as well..

  • Love this tv. Bought it from HN for $3200. Upgraded to this after C1 died in 2 months.

    • Did you have any warranty claim issues on the C1 after just 2 months?

  • Yes, OLED panel shut off and wouldn’t turn on.

Bought the 42” for $2004 at JB HiFi by adding “ Creative Stage Air Compact Under-Monitor Portable Bluetooth Soundbar” to the cart. The bundle shaves off 10% extra on top of the 10% promo code on their front page. Slightly cheaper and a basically free mini sound bar.

If you also use 10% off ‘Giftz’ cards (1x$1000 for $900 and 1x$500 for 450) you could also get $150 extra off it also by using them to buy 3x $500 jb vouchers.

    • That's a nice hack! How does this bundle thing work??

      • +1

You just put everything in the cart at once, then apply JB's extra discount voucher code on their front page. Then you get basically double the discount.
