Hanging out for the S3000 pro to go on sale again :( Missed the weekends $699

You won’t be disappointed after waiting 😉

      • Are you implying s3000 is much better than this one? Give it a miss?

        • I got s3000 for tv, they do sound good but had syncing issues and would rather a HDMI arc setup with Dolby Atmos. I have not heard s2000, but I think unless you want that deep bass s2000 will do the job fine.

          • @Trumpyy: I just use optical out, never turn them off or on. Works great. Wish I could use one remote but worth it for the price and quality.

            • @onlinepred: I have the 3000 and got them working with one remote. Can't find the link I used but have them on a samsung 8000 series tv. Only issue is they don't have a sound volume number

              • @gups: Oh man, I can't believe I didn't even try haha. I have an LG Magic remote which has universal config….. Dude I've had them for almost 1 year now and haven't thought once about that….

        • The s3000pro are bigger, will be more suited to bigger rooms or as a hifi/sound system for tv. S2000 is still very good especially for the price, but more suited to smaller rooms or newer field listening. My mate uses his for tv, sounds so good, just a little less bass than what I would want for movies or HiFi etc.

          • @onlinepred: Screen also bigger on s2000. I'd jump on the s2000

          • @onlinepred: I'm intending on using them with my turntable setup. Need to reduce the amount of space I am currently taking up with the current amp and speakers.Technics MK1210 turntable (and pre-amp)

  • This or r2750db?

    • … or contemplate the R2850DB's though not here in Aus yet? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWeoTZmU6l0

    • got some of these last week and Im impressed vs my old Audioengine A5s (which I only replaced because the amp died after 10yrs of always on use), although they are rather big for bookshelf speakers.

  • Damn, this is tempting. Is it too big for desktop?

    • Just did some googling, seems like too big. Would be a pain especially with dual monitor setup. Damn, 60$ shipping to Cairns.

      • I'm waiting for a deal on the S3000 pro and will be using them on a desk with a triple monitor setup. I've got SFA room on either side so will be purchasing some stands to put them over the top of the monitors, the added bonus of having them up out of the way of prying toddler hands is a big upshot too.

Apparently having speakers on sand filled stands is better for the aduio experience as it absorbs vibrations though I've not (yet) tested this. With that being said though, I guess S3000 Pros to listen to some low-ish quality 60's - 80's music streamed via bluetooth from youtube music is probably overkill in itself.

        • haha, too big for desktop. i prefer 1 monitor at the center and 2 at either sides. Want the speakers sitting between monitors is my goal. Currently Z623 do well, but not happy with clarity. S350 are probably the right ones.

S3000 apparently have a noticeable hiss when used that close to the person. Not designed for that role

          • @bobvegas: Does S2000 have them too?

            • @John Doh: Yes, if you sit close and crank up the volume to beyond tolerable level.

They are great as a destop speaker 1m away and exceptional as a room speaker 5m away.

          • @bobvegas: you reckon I can use these S2000mkIII as desktop speakers?

            • @geshc: See if you can find an owner willing to test that. I have the cheapest Edifier speaker model also. It has a switch for aux/PC. If switched to PC I assume the hiss goes away. The speakers not made for for a desktop speakers setup most likely don't have such a switch. I don't recall seeing it on my S3000

  • I have the R1700BT for my TV. Will this be a good upgrade?

  • In store only now, can’t seem to order online.

  • Anyone know of a pair of bookshelf speakers to connect to an amp that are decent but cheaper than this? ($200-$300?). Bluetooth not required. Just decent and economical.

I got the Edifer R2000DB's off Amazon for $320 some time ago (for my TV and record player) and liked them so much that I got the Edifer R1850DB's for my PC (they are $259 on Amazon, but I got them for less—looks like currently $209 at custompcsaustralia (though never shopped with them)).

      Can strongly recommend both.
