Hey guys, and thanks for posting HamBoi69. These tips will help :)

A new customer is defined by Surfshark, and nothing to do with your Cashrewards account. Simply use a new email address at their end, the same Cashrewards account as always, and you're good to go.

Click 'Shop Now' or 'Shop Offer' and buy - don't click to other sites looking for codes etc and certainly don't use any 3rd party plugins. Best to use the Cashrewards mobile app on 4G/5G as this also eliminates any potential issues with WiFi/router firewalls and the like. Tracking for Surfshark typically takes 1-4 hours.

And finally please remember you have the safety net of Surfshark’s 30-day money back guarantee should tracking fail. All the best :)

Was going to post this today. Great deal. Thanks TA for getting this deal. Thanks OP for posting too.

    • +1

Just confirming this promo ends 1st aug at 11.59pm. I may wait to do this tomorrow… So ocd lol

    • +1

TA, any chance of a Nord 95% cashback deal soon?

      • Nord and Surfshark are owned by the same parent company

    • +2

I notice they offer an additional 12 months for $27.49 total after signing up so for those who bought 24 months, it becomes +12 mo = 36 mo.
Is this included in the 95% cashback as well or treated as 2nd tx so no cashback?

    • Nevermind, it came through .. just slower than any others have .. :)

Heya, just purchased this after clicking through the link and followed your tips, but I haven't received a tracking email to say it's been accepted? I got the Surfshark emails but nothing from CR .. are there any delays on getting this email? Others seem to have been very quick. Cheers

  • +1

How does this compare to Nord? My sub is about to expire

    • +1

I can vouch for the quality, it is speedy and is just as good as Nord, if not better.

      • +1

Still experiencing kill switch not working from latest update

    • NordVPN has terrible congestion on Aus servers in the evening. Unusable for me.

      • +1

Agree - as a Nord customer for 3yrs lately AUS servers have been average and going backwards…and several countries including India were removed as an option

        • Many providers removed India, as the laws there changed to start logging actual IP addresses of users along with other information that could accurately identify the users.
I agree with the evening congestion though. Sucks big time.

    • +2

Been using surfshark for three 3years plus can vouch for the quality and speed.
Customer service are really helpful contacted them couple of occasions for best US netflix POC.

Remember to cancel auto subscription for your account via chat and use new email for CR discounts when up for renewal.

    • +1

Avoid Surfshark like plaque. Bad product and bad support. Their support at one point actually told me to not use antivirus program at all, lol. So yeah, very knowledgeable.

Nord was okay. Sometimes slow but not too bad.

Bought the deal and later abandoned SurfShark.
Privacy and security reasons. They are often leaking your exact IP which renders it …well useless as VPN

I used multiple VPN before (not a newbie) and havent had these problems before.
Their customer service was not useful.

      • +1

That's not really untrue. A lot of people think they need antiviruses like Avast, Malwarebytes, etc. Truth is, the built-in ones (Windows Defender, Android's antivirus, etc.) are very effective, and typically catch more than the others do.

        • +1

I dont disagree with you regarding that statement, though that would be something for each person to decide. Arguably, a person buying a VPN is likely one that is more comfortable with more rather than fewer security layers.

I do however have a problem with L2 tech support blanket statement being - "just uninstall the antivirus mate". It simply makes me as a user question their ability to provide good security which is the core premise of their value proposition. And lo and behold constant IP address leaks ensued that they had no idea what to do about.

I used multiple VPN providers over the years, some were better, some were worse. Surfshark is the only one where I had constant IP leaks (destroying the purpose of VPN to begin with) with slower internet on top and a recommendation to not have antivirus. Quite a multilayer fail :)

At this point I wouldnt use them for free.

          • @daredevilboy: How do you know your IP was leaking?

            • @Grazz989: There are sites you can use to check your IP.
With surfshark my real IP was the same as IP that was espoused at the end.

There are sites you can use to check what files were shared P2P by IP. With surfshark files ended up being traced to my unprotected IP.

That was while surfshark was being active.
Whole other problem is that they don't have a working Killswitch.

I use windows firewall to route traffic through the vpn.

So far so good for Netflix US, only downside is you need to contact support to turn off auto renew

    • +1

      thats dodgy as (profanity).

  • Shopback has PIA at 95% cashback too.

    Surfshark or PIA?

    • Surfshark!!
      Disney dosnt work with PIA

      • I’m leaning towards PIA as you can add a dedicated IP address.

39 months with dedicated IP is $14.90 after cash back.

        • What ya need dedicated ip for

        • Do you know if it will still track if you add a dedicated IP? I seem to recall hearing a while back some CR or Shopback not paying out cashback on VPNs when add ons were selected

      • Disneyplus Aus working here on PIA

        • Why would you need vpn for Disney plus Aus? Disneyplus India dosnt work.

          • @TomGum: writes…

Why would you need vpn for Disney plus Aus? Disneyplus India dosnt work

You never mention India in your OP in this thread. ;)

            • @soda-pop: The idea of using vpn on Disneyplus is to use other countries content/prices. Feel free to try other countries (not just India), chances are it won’t work with PIA.

              • @TomGum: Tried India it loads but wants me to subscribe. Won't accept my AUS credentials. Do I need a hotstar account? Also asks for Indian phone number.

edit: Yep that's the problem need a hotstar account. Disneyplus accepting my credentiaols in other regions.

There is no disneyplus in india. Its an add-on to hotstar.
                LOL! How misleading!

                • @soda-pop: Videos won’t play from other countries.

Hotstar is the name that includes Disney plus in India. I had to open an Indian gmail to download the app on my android tv.

Paid $29 for 12 months subscription.

                  • @TomGum: Hotstar is not disneyplus. Disneyplus login credentials won't work with hotstar.
                    Totally misleading!!!

    • I can't find 95% off for PIA. Can you provide a link please?

      Found it: https://www.shopback.com.au/private-internet-access

    • Surf Shark - I was on PIA and their region hop streaming is terrible. Signed up on this offer,

  • I can't see a yearly or 2 years option

I'm using surfshark now and don't recommend.

    1. Randomly disconnects.
    2. Randomly logs out of client, have to log in again. While logged out you're not protected.
    3. Killswitch doesn't work
    4. Passthrough doesn't work

    It's cheap for a reason.

See issues and others discussed on reddit - https://old.reddit.com/r/surfshark/new/

    • +2

I do not recommend surfshark after using them on and off for 3 years. Slow speeds, stuck with the last selected country and to change back you'll need to restart that computer. The bug still still not fixed.

The biggest problem of leaving surfshark (now comes with bloatwares and one example is their surveillance on client antivirus). I hate when they force you to install third party or addons to install on computer, mobile etc. Why would i install your antivirus into my computer with your vpn. No no no no.

    • +2

My subscription ends soon and I won’t be going back with or without the generous cash back.

      1. Very unreliable for Netflix. Sometimes it works but it mostly doesn’t.
      2. Doesn’t work with Prime
      3. Rarely works for those cheap Argentina/Turkey subscription hacks. Free TunellBear so much better for this.

Happy to pay more for a better service.

      • +1

Go with Express if you are happy to pay

    • 1st 2 years were good, update from v3.3 onwards really bad, kill switch doesn't work and random disconnect

      • Hate the random disconnections, was sit that bad? Was considering the surfshark

  • +1

any idea..will it work for disney plus hotstar india?

    • +2

It was working fine. However due to Indian govt regulations they shut down Indian servers. Virtual Indian server provided is not fast .

    • +1

      Just registered and checked now.
      netflix-India doesnt work.
disney-hotstar works, but very bad bandwidth. video quality is bad and speed is bad.

So if you are getting it only for hotstar like me dont register. I'm planning to disconnect now.

    • Getflix smart DNS - I’m getting 4K resolution on Hotstar

      https://stacksocial.com/sales/getflix-lifetime-subscription-…

      • Its showing as $81 AUD. Bit expensive.

    • Yes. It works perfectly fine. I have installed surfshark on my amazon firestick 4k max and able to use Hotstar Disney+ without any issues.

  • -5

enter code 'redditspecial' to save a fair bit of $$ ;)

    • +7

If you do this, reddit will get commission for the sale instead of Cashrewards, and therefore no cashback for you guys :)

  • So best value is $81.36 for 24 months and you get 95% back?

    • I can only see a monthly payment where is a 24 month payment listed.

    • +1

      Correct. $81.36 less 95% = $4.068 ($0.1695/mth) for 2 years

      • +2

Cashback excludes GST. So after cashback you actually pay $81.36 less 95% + $8.14 = $12.20.
        Is my understanding correct?

        • Ah, yes, you are correct. Makes a big difference - still good value though.

      • +3

I got $74 cash back and paid $93.

        • +1

Same for me: Paid $93.96 and my cashback was $74.71.

  • +2

    I don't recommend Surfshark.
    Pros: good consistent speeds.
Cons: Windows apps is a bloated & buggy mess. You don't want Surfshark anti-virus? Too bad, you're forced to install it & it'll nag you to buy it.

    • that sounds a real pita. no way to disable? But for $4 for 2 years doesn't even matter if I stop using it I guess.

      • +1

You could always sign up and use the 30 money-back guarantee to evaluate.

I'm sure you've get a feel for quality within 30 days.

        • you need to speak with someone to cancel it, you can't do it from your account.

    • +1

      @dojomojo writes…

You're not forced to install their vpn client. Plenty of alternatives.

I was considering this until I read this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/surfshark/comments/w7jh42/how_happy…

So many issues, your time spent to address them will "cost" you much more than the savings.

    • Why not test it for yourself as YMMV. You have the luxury of their 30-day money back guarantee after all.

    • +1

I’m a happy Surfshark customer with no issues on cashback from CR.

    • Been using it for number of years no issues , havent had any issues I mainly use for streaming services and ocassional vpn requiring deals

  • +1

Surfshark was good, but now it disconnects me at least once every hour and randomly asks me to login every now and then. Maybe it's because I'm using the chrome extension.

  • Surfshark or Cyberghost VPN?

    • Surfshark because Cyberghost is owned by Kape Technologies.

      • thanks for your reply.

  • Is India included?

    • Yes, it’s virtual.

  • +1

Will the cashback be affected if I change my country of origin to avoid GST?

    • If anyone wants to know, Cashrewards still did track my purchase even though I avoided the GST.

      • It tracks, but the question is if they will pay at the end of 3 months.

  • Thank you TA for providing this deal. Thankyou to OP for posting too.
Got my sister sorted with a very cheap VPN. As I am still enjoying my Nord VPN from the previous CR deal. Keep them coming @tightarse

  • Wanted to watch something on Czech Netflix - kept detecting Surfshark. Don't think I'll resubscribe after my current sub ends.

  • How long before cashback is it 3 months

  • Don't recommend for Indian users, Not enough speed to stream videos from Disney plus hotstar and Sony LiV TV

    • +1

What’s a good recommended one for India, such as Zee5 and Sony Liv etc.

      • I am using Express VPN, works perfectly with hotstar and sony Liv. Tried surfshark, but no success, received the refund

    • Yeah, what's your recommendation?

  • +2

Also note, they enable auto renewal, so after the sub ends, you'll be re-billed at full rate. Can't disable it, so you'll either need to add new CC# or cancel before your sub ends.
Overall, still a decent VPN deal.

  • Could someone please tell me how long it took to get cash rewards cash back thanks.

  • Do anyone receive tracked message form cashrewards?

  • how long does it take to track, i signed this up, but no tracking yet, normally cashrewards is pretty quick
