This post contains affiliate links. OzBargain might earn commissions when you click through and make purchases. Please see this page for more information.

This Offer is for a limited time, commencing at 12:01AM (AEST) on 1 August 2022 and ending at the earlier of 11:59PM (AEST) on 5 August 2022 or while stocks last.
If eligible for this Offer, the 10% discount off Qualifying Items will be automatically applied at checkout.

Deal is up and running right now for some reason.
You can use your gift card balance to buy these cards, it would be a good idea to get some Amazon GCs off ShopBack (currently 2% CB) to bring the price down further.
I think there is a max purchase limit of $400-$600 in total transactions before Amazon cancels further purchases for 24 hours (risk prevention purposes).
It sometimes takes an hour or two for the cards to deliver, the estimated delivery time (5 minutes) is rubbish.

    • +2

    • +1

Thanks i bought a $50 GC. Not sure what i will use it for though.

      • +1

        Not much really

Google One subscription would be the most popular one

        • +2

I use it for YouTube Premium/Music myself (yes, yes, I know I can get it cheaper with a VPN).

    • +1

Just a heads up to everyone, if you have HCF, you can get Amazon eGift for 4.05% off.

Now I'll be able to pay off those guys ringing me telling me I have viruses at a discounted rate!

    • +12

You can get viruses for free right now. Woolies, Coles, and Aldi all have them in stock if they’re busy enough

  • Can it be used for google workspace?

  • +2

Already got GPAY in the $100s… What can we use this for besides apps and subs?

    • +2

Coke and hookers, preferably in that order.

      • +4

        Coke Zero or just original?

        • Zero? Now that is where I draw the line.

    • +3

      None. It's useless

    • Books and movies?

    • +3

Currently I only use it to pay for YT Premium, good to go for a couple years

      • +3

I presume these cards can't be used in Turkey/India/Argentina? Or am I missing out again?

        • +1

@truetypezk Correct, In Oz only, but if there's a TurkBargain, InBargain or ArgBargain
website you could follow them and wait for someone to post 10% off Google Play Cards.

        • Yeah unfortunately

    • +5

You mean you don't have a crippling addiction to gacha / microtransaction games or pokies?

I personally wouldn't but: movie rentals, books, newsstand.. then it's Youtube and Google One but we all know it's best to pay for that in Turkish Lira.

      • Now let's not joke around. At least try to be somewhat rational.

        • +4

I always say that if you can’t add something helpful to the conversation, don’t comment at all (that was a joke, by the way)

          • @tharlow: I do have feelings you know.

    • Keep Scammers and their families fed??

  • +1

Can I use Google Play eGift Card to buy anything?

    • -2

Anything. Even Eneloops and Macpac jackets

      • +2

Wish we pay for amazon prime using these

        • +9

          Amazon Prime pays for itself

          • +2

@tharlow: So does Amazon Prime trial. I d rather spend a couple of minutes to open a new account to save that $6.99. Just use a different card to sign up trial and all other info can be the same.

            • +1

@truetypezk: I don't bother with this over the yearly $59 ($39 for the previous Revolut deal), but you can make unlimited Revolute cards for this.

  • Are these eGCs ok for Genshin primos? Asking for a friend…

    • +2

Any gacha/micro-transaction hell on Google Play, just redeem the code in the "Payments and Subscriptions" tab and the balance is tied to your account.

    • +1

I bought a bunch when Officeworks had them for 15 or 20% off, couple it with Google play points to redeem $3 off coupons. Log in to game on android phone, tap on stuff to buy in shop, coupon automatically applies on the google play payment popup, pay rest with account balance from the gift cards - each welkin comes down to $4.3 or so!

  • -3

Can I somehow load this credit into google pay?

    • I want to know too

      • I just wanna pay for myki somehow. Can't afford petrol anymore :(

    • +3

If you pay to become a developer, create a simple app with microtransactions and launch it as a private beta you can use that to pay yourself from your credit but since Google takes a percentage you'll probably be losing money on it.

    • No.

  • +4

Good to use this credit to pay Google One subscription

    • If I'm subscribed where can I use this to pay for another year? Tia

      • Google One app - settings - it'll tell you the date you became a member.

        • I've gone into settings and it only has the options to add a credit card or paypal. How do I add a gift card?

          • +1

@thestig: Once you've added the credit to your account you swap payment method to google play balance? I think?

      • +2

I just got this to work. You need to redeem the gift card and have a balance in your Google play before it appears at a payment option for Google one.

Coles have 1000 flybuys at offer on a $50 Google card.

    • +3

this is a lot better deal than 1000 flybuys points on $50 GC Card.
      1. you aint stuck with $50 value to get maximum face value
      2. you dont need to get stuck to flybuys to avail your flybuys points
      3. You can pay legally with Amazon Gift cards and promo credits for this

      • Wrong - if you have Flybuys anyway and do you do your groceries at Coles anyway. Then it is free. And it is a 20% discount rather than a 10% discount.

      • That deal expired 7 months ago.

        • lol yeh I was saying waiting for it again

    • No they don't. Not as at today anyway.

  • +2

That's a lot of upvotes for a standard discount..

Plus, microtransaction hell means i don't even game on my phone, I'm put off the whole experience. And there's only so many non-gaming apps or subscriptions you need.

    • +2

      It's a -10% discount on Google One/Drive.
$22.50 for a year without the region workaround.

You can also pay subs like Netflix.

      • +2

You can also pay subs like Netflix.

Since when? Everyone who could got kicked off that.

    • +1

I presume you could use this to buy ebooks on google play, which I've done a few times in the past mostly with google rewards credit.

    • +1

I think before Covid, 20% was not uncommon … but havent seen that for a LONG long time

  • +3

Amazon marking down Google gift cards lol

  • I think I managed to pay for my escooter ride on nueron using Google credit? Maybe?

Is that right or am I wrong?

  • Is their any expiry date for this Google play card use?

    • +1

Google AU GC terms says this:
Card value expires 5 years following the date of (1) card issuance or (2) last activity on the Google Play stored value account to which the card is redeemed, whichever is the later.

So from my understanding it expires when either:
      - 5 years pass with you not redeeming the code
      - 5 years pass with no credit/debit to your balance

The weird thing is that the non-AU version of the terms says that they never expire.

  • Could this be used to top up android myki cards?

  • +3

Thanks. I just got a call from the ATO saying I need to pay money I owe them using these gift cards. At least I can save some money using this deal.

    /s

  • I paid for the gift card at 12:30 last night & still haven't received it more than 7 hours later. :-(

    • Same, 10 hours later :(
Looking at the reviews unfortunately looks like taking over a day isn't too uncommon.

      • I ordered this morning around 5 and got my card within minutes

  • Not receiving the 10% off at checkout. What is the eligibility requirement?

    • +1

Did you continue the checkout process? The discount didn’t show up until I started the checkout process

      • Thank you. That was it, I hadn't gone past the payment method.

  • +1

I find that if you want the gift card fast, then send it to the email used for your Amazon account. You can get it in minutes and then use the code anywhere else. If you send it to a different email, then there will be delays.

  • Anyone using this for Indian YT premium?

  • Use google rewards to earn credits… (Only applicable if you have an android phone)

  • Some discount for my genshin whaling

  • Can one use this to have a Disney+ annual subscription?

    • You should be able to. Can you set it as your primary payment method?

      • I vaguely remember i did use gift card balance for a subscription but had to add a credit card for renewal or as payment method although due amount was 0 for current sub

    • +1

Yes it can be, I've done this before Disney got greedy and had the massive price hike

    • It's how I pay for my Disney+ subscription annually.

  • +1

Can the balance be used to purchase a phone from google store ??

    • +2

      Nah only within Google Play

  • Waiting for the one at Coles/Woolies.

    • Coles have it on right now it’s posted in this thread.

  • +3

I really have to laugh at this two-star review:

I purchased this and didn’t mean to I want money back please
I want money back for for google play card of $49.45

And somehow two people found it helpful?

    • Oddly specific amount for a mistake

  • I bought one 2 hours ago and still waiting for the code. Is that normal?

    • I just got mine within 5 minutes.

      • Weird. On Amazon it still says Status Scheduled.

        • 13 hours so far for me. Says it's processing and not yet sent. Usually doesn't take this long in the past.

          • @Smuggy: mine is doing the same thing.

    • I purchased mine ~3.5 hours ago and still waiting.
