      Hodor!

  • Will this fit my PC https://www.mwave.com.au/product/msi-nightblade-mi3012au-min…?
Is this good for OS main drive? How is this compared to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/719814#comment-12562219?

    • looks your system is PCIE gen.3 not 4, neither this one or 980 pro could perform at maximum speed. I'd recommend 970 evo plus

  • Damn I just bought the Crucial P5 Plus 2TB for $300 from this deal- https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/718584

    This deal is much better?

I think your deal has some advantages:
      - The Crucial P5 Plus can be used in PS5 so has more flexibility and future resale value
      - Avoid the need to sign up or use AfterPay
      - A bit faster so may notice faster loading times by a second or two
Edit: Also avoids having to give money to Gigabyte with their anti-consumer behaviour of late

      • A bit faster so may notice faster loading times by a second or two

        Yeah, no.

There's only a few seconds difference between nvme drives and ye old 2.5" sata SSD's for most applications as it is.

      • this is gen4 too - so can be used in a ps5?

        • It is technically below the minimum spec/speed required for the PS5, but it might work regardless, you'd have to look online to see if others have had success with this particular drive.

    • Depends on the endurance difference.

    • Depends on what you are after and usage:

      • For PS5, if you don't care about the read benchmark figure and just want a cost effective 2TB solution, this one is cheaper.
      • For PC, again, it depends. Do you care more about $/GB or performance.
      • This one (Gigabyte) you need local warranty (because that's how it works for Gigabyte SSD). It's a Pro and a Con. You could get the seller elected to do a refund (but for an online purchase, it might be harder) or straight swap replacement.

You already bought P5 Plus. The price on this one is quite tempting considered 2 years ago, I paid $315 for a Phison E16 based 2TB SSD for PS5.

  • Hi I tried to apply AFPAYDAY code but it's not working. It's first time to use that code. So do I need to do something if I want to use that code?

    • This happened when my payment mode was on Debit/Credit card payment type.

Try switching over to Afterpay payment type, code should work.

      • Of course I switched over to Afterpay payment type. I have no idea why it doesn't work ):

    • You need to use afterpay

  • brought one last night from umart, I should've waited dammit

    • If you haven't opened it, you can return to Umart within 30 days for change of mind (from memory)

  • Hi everyone - can anybody help a boomer out. I have a Dell Inspiron 5490 AIO bought in May 2020. It came with a 250GB SSD (C drive) and 1TB HDD (D Drive). I have installed progs etc on D but the SSD just doesn't cut it any more so I'm after something bigger to stop being reminded all the time that C Drive is full. I have gone to Crucial to see which SSD I'd need, RTFM, and youtubed tear downs of my same machine but have gotten mixed results - it seems there are 2 sizes of NVMe - a small square looking one or a rectangle one. Yeah I know - I can open it up to see which one mine is but just thought I'd ask here first. Here is a link to my computer: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-au/product-support/prod… Thanks in advance.

Right Click Windows Start Button -> Device Manager. Look for 'Disk Drives' and expand it. The brand and product code of your SSD will be listed. Google search and you will know what's installed on your laptop.

      22 x 30mm and 22 x 42mm

So the smaller ones yeah. There's actually like five sizes of M2 SSDs.

      • And the 2230 is only available in OEM(seller warranty).

      • Oh jeez. I found the details that fullerms mentioned - NVMe KBG40ZNS256G NVM. Google images are looking at it being the little square-ish one.

  • Ahhhh thank you so much fullerms :)

Spotted similar spec QLC Corsair MP600 core from BPC eBay store. Works out up around $237 on afterpay deal. Removable heatsync for laptop and unofficially works fine for PS5 from a quick search.
