correct. before 2pm they sit browse ozb, counting the preorder $$$ and drink

      • ^_^ hope they aren't doing the ram/SSD upgrades too sloshed! 😂

      • And in bed by 8.

    • Well I tried adding a preorder as the sale was supposed to be today but it ended up just as normal sale so that didn't work…

  • I don't need it, I already have a spare ThinkPad I'm not using, but one of these would make a great Linux machine.

    • and what kind of things we/you can/will do with this linux machine? trying to hold myself not to buy just for fun

      • Anything our heart desires, the only limits are our imaginations.

I'll probably customise and install new desktop environments until I get bored and forget about it until there is a new distro to try.

      • Just as much if you had windows installed and a lot more.

I have steam running on one machine, wine and other office based packages. Pretty good software and so so so much support.

        • Run a web server
        • Run a Plex server
        • Run a print server
        • Run a file sharing server
        • Use free and open source software like GIMP, Inkscape, Kdenlive, LibreOffice, Audacity and more
        • Automate tasks with Ansible

Best of all, you are not installing closed source/proprietary malware. A lot of EULA from commercial software is like spiking the drink version of legally accepting terms of agreement and then collecting data and sensitive information which most people are not aware how and what type of information is being transferred to remote servers almost all the time.

    • Will this good to use as a tablet?

      • Personally I find Windows is not as good as an Android or IOS tablet.
Reason: Not all Windows Apps are designed well e.g. Pinch and Zoom, or for keyboard to Auto appear when one selects typing area. Added to this, a Tablet is much much lighter compared to this as it this is a two in one and the keyboard does not detach. Depends on what you mean or what your required use would be.

        • I Mainly use it for watching youtube and connect to our karaoke speaker, so it is use as a portable screen for karaoke. It is nice that it is also a laptop so some office task can be done.

    • I bought one for this, what software do you find useful for the touch screen aspect of it?

      Edit: regarding Linux

      • Gnome appears to be the most popular for touchscreens, KDE Plasma runner up.

If you don't like the native look of a distro you can always install another desktop environment, but not sure how that effects touch.

        • Cheers for that. I just moved from xfce to KDE plasma but I'll try Debian gnome.

I was mainly going to put Linux on because it's a dual core in today's time. I think it will run smoothly but ive know way of knowing that til I try.

          • @Minimalism: Zorin OS is another great option, they also have a lite option for low-end hardware, but this laptop should be fine.

            • +1

@Jimbuscus: Thanks. I'll watch some YouTube on Zorin. I prefer debian systems but was thinking the desktop environment on top of the os could be built for touch oriented. Like how you mentioned gnome (which I haven't liked since gnome).

Can't wait for the convertible laptop. First one. Been waiting a couple years for one to be within my budget.

              Cheers to fusetech

              • @Minimalism: If you like Debian, then Zorin is a fork of Ubuntu, which itself is a fork of Debian.

Another Ubuntu fork with touch is Pop!_OS which is very popular atm, this one has the best game support outside of Steam OS 3.0.

Personally tho I would recommend Zorin OS as they best computer replacement, requiring the least user knowledge.

  • I'm a beginner so please go easy on me. Does this already come installed with software and/or what else would i need to purchase to get it going? Do I have the capacity to also download LibreOffice?

    • +1

Comes with Windows 10 so ready to use. You can download and install whatever apps you need, so yes you could download and install LibreOffice.

  • I was looking at the deal for the Inspiron 13 7359 (i7 6500u). I have that model but with the i3, and I was curious that you guys have a 16GB ram option but my laptop only has one RAM slot, and I haven't been able to find a cheap 16gb DDR3L Sodimm anywhere (cheapest I could find is ~$300). Any chance you guys could shed some light on this @FuseTechAu? Does that model have two slots?

  • help - pls… OP -
So will the i5-6200U cpu in these machines continue in the future to officially support W11 ,TPM and keep getting official updates??

  • Ordered from FuseTech's previous listing. Got jerked around and then they cancelled my order. Don't recommend them.

    • I ordered off them, I'll let you know how it goes. Sometimes it's just an unfortunate series of events?

    • +2

I also had similar experience with @LukeS. Ordered from their previous deal. Order got cancelled after more than 2 weeks with very poor (nonexistent) communication from OP

      • +1

Yep just got an email the 16GB on inspiron 2in1 will not be honoured.
        Choice 2x4GB or cancel.

        • -2

Hi, so the ram we had in stock was not actually compatible, required DDR3L single 16 which was difficult to get, so if you had ordered you could still keep your order as base or we can refund! Apologies for the mix-up.

    • +2

1 week update, no communication from fusetech. I asked just for a time when they are going to dispatch the order. I got a response that they have too many orders, please be patient and nothing else. Feel like I'm jerked around right now. Customers need to atleast know approximately when they are going to send out the orders.

      • week 2 update: They sent out the item after a week and I got it on today, the week after. Product seems good (haven't tried it properly yet), would've been great if they communicated.

        • FUSETECH ripped me off! The RAM and Hard Drive are way less than what I had paid them for. Going to have to chase it up now. Beware!

  • I'm interested in this for sure but the cpu dual core is just so old. Hoping there is a deal on a 2in1 1080p with new ryzen chips 4th gen or some newer stuff for decent price below 500$ or smth

  • what does this mean ?
    how long ?

"Pre-order item: Delivers as soon as available"

    • Pre-order was set up for before the Ozbargain sale, but the orders will be going out in the next few days, Thu-Fri should be out by today!

  • Hi I purchased, when can I expect deliver?

  • Sorry just saw previous comment

  • +3

I just had my order cancelled and refunded with no explanation…

    • -2

What was your order number? DM and I can follow it up

      • +1

Thanks, but nevermind I ordered elsewhere after my order was cancelled.

  • Would this be a good upgrade from my old x230t? Sick of the 720 screen.

  • Hi OP, any more stock left please of the Dell 5368/7359 or all sold out? Thanks

    • back in stock!

      • Thanks OP, placed an order!

  • My charger isn’t working, can someone help me

  • HI GUYS!

Just an update we still do have some extra stock! another 30 odd units still available!

    Cheers,

    • +2

Any Lenovo T4xx on the horizon? I saw on page 1 you said early this week,

      Cheers

  • Received the DELL INSPIRON 13 2IN1 5368 13.3" end of last week. Set-up and ready to go, but the battery lasts around 7 minutes unplugged.
Disappointed as the website states 70%-100% Battery Life.

    • +1

Hi, we do check through battery capacity, but sometimes batteries just die. Email and we can help sort out a replacement for you

      • I understand that these things happen. I'm just a bit frustrated that I transferred my data and installed the programs that I need only to discover after a couple of days that the battery is useless. I'll have to go through double the work now with a replacement. Surely there has to be an alternative way.

        • email through and we'll look to sending out a replacement part if you like

          • @FuseTechAu: I emailed through yesterday something along the lines of my previous reply above, but haven't received a response yet

    • +1

the number 7 is matched, at least.

  • +2

Received my DELL INSPIRON 13 2IN1 5368 13.3" yesterday also, set it up but doesn't work on battery at all (tries to power on but immediately dies), only when plugged into power.

    Just sent an email also.

    • Mine is the same now. It had a few minutes of battery life before, now it only works when plugged in. Still waiting for a confirmation that a replacement battery will be sent.

      • Yeah, I’ve sent two emails to them but no reply yet.

        • hi,

we are getting through the emails now, your batt replacement should have been sent! ill follow up on tracking

  • These look brilliant (the micro towers). Used one of the newer ones at work and really liked it.

With the way the price of Rasberry Pi's are right now, it might even be a good alternative to that if all you're running is a bit of code. Savings may be offset by increased power consumption though lol.
