  • What else can i use this for?

    • +2

      I think it's in the name…

    • Try it as a portable fan, mini leaves blower maybe

      • Try it as a portable fan

I use my Kmart fan if I need cordless I will use my Xiaomi fan.

    • Drying your tears when you didn't HODL for a 3090 Ti

    • La Niña, mainly.

How do you know if it is skin only? There is no mention in the product Page

    • +8

The part where there’s absolutely no mention of a battery of any kind on the product page

    • +2

      Model number.

    • +1

If it doesn’t have the word ‘kit’ in it, it doesn’t include a battery.

  • Thank you.

  • Is $59 already discounted or is that the normal retail price?

    • It's been $59 since Oct last year according to Ryobi.

  • Good first post OP - ordered one for pickup.

    • Will only work if they don't sell out the stock to customers in store first - they seem to pick online orders from the floor, and don't reserve any so you're behind any in store shoppers in terms of access to their stock.

got a call from Bunnings, said have to refund me because no one has stock.

    • Which one of Bunnings stores they called you?

      • Bankstown airport Nsw

  • Ordered, then realised it's over $100 to get the battery/charger to use it (I was aware a battery was required, just didn't realise how much). I will be looking to get power tools soon, just not sure I want to commit to Ryobi, reviews seem okay though.

    • +1

For home/handyman stuff. It's got the best range at the most reasonable prices.

This item alone shows off it's large range. I've never seen a portable floor drying fan. Why would anyone ever need one that can't be plugged in?
      They say, here's one anyway.

      • Handyman onsite,no power…

    • You can't go wrong with any really, especially if you're just a DIY'er. Ozito is very cheap and good value, Ryobi is sort of in between that and the more 'professional' brands like Makita, Dewalt etc. I have Makita and Ozito. Ryobi seem to have a wider range, and some extra things I want. So I'm considering getting a Ryobi battery converter. All brands offer budget and more pro/powerful versions for most of their tools.

    • EBay ones aren’t bad. They last about 80%-90% compared to the official ones

I know I will never use this but God damn I want it

  • +3

    Why does this exist?

    • Would be useful if you're a carpet cleaner I imagine

    • +3

Initially I thought it was completely pointless. Then I realised I could use this to help dry the floor quicker after mopping.

      • +1

to help dry the floor quicker after mopping.

        Just use fan

      • +1

But it takes a few minutes for a wet floor to dry on its own. It's called evaporation.

It's pointless using energy to speed that process up. Use an old towel under foot if you want it done in seconds.

My rubber gym tiles takes hours to dry in peak summer, days in winter. Add the fact that we're apparently in for another wet summer and one of these seems like it might easily be worth $29

          • @apsilon: Well, if moisture takes "days" to dry it means there is not enough ventilation in that area.

I was more referring to normal solid tiles in the home anyway. Those spin mops like this one can be used to get most of the moisture out, leaving a very small amount to dry naturally.

            • +1

@cerealJay: I actually have a mop very similar to that. The rubber tiles are made from shredded recycled rubber so the surface is fairly textured which combined with the cracks between gives plenty of places for water to hide. It's an enclosed awning but those drying times are with 12 windows and the door open. I generally avoid mopping it in winter for this reason.

              • @apsilon: Fair enough, I admit defeat. Your rubber gym tiles benefit from powered drying.

        • Yea true. It's a convenience thing
I always keep yelling at the kids to not walk on the wet floor after mopping. Especially in winter it takes much longer to dry on its own.

For $29 it's worth a shot. I definitely wouldn't pay $100+ or whatever retail is.

Will help with drying out flooded garage as we enter another Il Nina wet summer

Better get one soon - floor stock is drying up quickly.

  • How thoughtful

On here: https://nrby.in/bunnings/0206634 - oh well no stock here or there. Wait buy me a coffee. And sizzle it at the top

  • Managed to pick one up click and collect. Goes into the pile of cordless stuff now

Interesting, I checked this identical product on the video clip from Youtube for a review, there is plug adapter for corded cable to the powerpoint. But this one here as advertised does not have it.

    • Yeh, I bought this thinking I could also plug it in if required. Oh well. I was considering the Ryobi garden sprayer, and maybe something else.

  • was looking into buying a ryobi cordless hot glue gun and battery, any one have any ideas on if these things go on sale or if its something that just gets bought at full price? I have no idea about usual sales regarding tools :(

    • Tools hardly go on sale. When they do, it's because they have niche uses and end up going on clearance like this one.

      • Ah. Thank you!

  • 1 or 2 left at Port Melbourne
    I just got one

  • I have one of these, it’s really useful when doing a carpet clean, helps dry a bedroom carpet in just a few hrs rather than a whole day. Plus also helpful when doing a mop on the floor tiles through the rest of the house

  • Thanks OP. Ordered one for C &C.

  • None in SA, cant even get it delivered

  • Ryobi battery is a bit expensive. Any recommendation third-party battery to pair with this?

  • Got mine delivered today. They used a uber style delivery service. Never seen that before.

  • My order got cancelled the next morning. Waiting for a refund now.
