They don't look like meals. They look like protein…

    • +7

You're definitely not a 20 year old male I take it

  • +1

How long are these on special for?

  • +4

    20% off booze, these for $5, $20 off $250 spend…

    Breakfast sorted for the week.

  • +9

Combines with this for $5 off. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/728033

    • We certain these all fall under the meat category

    • +2

Thanks! Also after you add 5 units, any after that is still $5 each. So you can get 6 for $30, and then apply the coupon to bring it down to $25

      • Minimum $50 click and collect only?

        • +2

Correct, but need to spend $30 on meat for the above coupon. You can add $20 of other stuff to make up the $50 minimum

          • @nicholasv: If I place an order today, I get it at today's price?
Even though pick up next week?
I only get charged next week?

            • @Spending2Much: Yes pretty sure that's fine

              • @nicholasv: Might sound odd….

But would it count towards next week's $50/10,000 fly buys deal, if placed today and only collected next week?

Or because the order was placed today?

                • @Spending2Much: I believe that it needs to be placed and picked up in the same promotion week. Have you done your first shop for that promo yet? I haven't done mine yet but will probably place order to pick up next wednessay, and it'll still count towards my first week of that promo

                  • @nicholasv: Yes, my first week shop was Friday, with 1200 bonus points for $30 spend which ran Wed-Fri.
The next week, 2nd week, is Mon 10th.

Cautious of spending too much about $50 as then they'll increase the minimum for the next deal.

However, 6 meals for $30, $25 after code discount, is pretty good value.

                    • @Spending2Much: Yeh definitely not a bad deal. You could reach out to a flybuys rep on Facebook and ask them if the shop will count towards your next week's target. Usually flybuys are pretty reasonable with honouring their promos

        • You can choose C&C Rapid $30 min but $5 "service fee" unless you are a Coles Plus member where the service fee is waived.

Thinking of my mother in law who is from overseas. Came to visit one time, returned home after a day of intense shopping. 'Hey, look at all these great things I got from 'Co Lez'. She had a solid point, I wasn't even mad.

    • It really is one of Australia’s greatest tourist attractions. Right up there with the outdoor dunny, in my book

      • +1

Nuh. Wasn't a part of the tourist list. Just a mother excited to play a part in feeding her family. Many of them were here at once. One of those cultures whereby the celebration of food is so much more vital to them to people like me.:)

        • There’s a list?! So that’s what I’m doing wrong

          • +1

@tharlow: unofficial. You know, all the crap that makes us cringe but people can't get enough of overseas. Doesn't take that long to drive to the 12 Apostles and everytime I go in like ..yeah, and? Boring. They lap it up though.

    • Did she visit 'L Dee' as well?

      • Did she visit 'L Dee' as well?

I've heard it called "Oldee" by some…

  • Can you cook the filo lamb rolls in an air fryer? Would it cook thoroughly? I have a cheap air fryer and I'm uncertain if it will cook properly, have only used it to cook frozen chips

    • yeah it’s just an oven

    • +3

Yes, it'll be fine. An air fryer is just a glorified fan convection oven.

    • +4

Anything that you cook in an oven you can cook in an air fryer.

An air fryer is just a small oven that marketing people make out to be some incredible world chancing appliance.

    • It may take a different approach, some foods (usually more delicate) I cook low for longer, eg 140c for 18-20 minutes

You can also microwave lots of things and then crisp up in an airfryer

  • They wouldn't let me have lamb.
I prefer to egg and crumb thigh fillets.
I ordered a heap of "Angus Beef Brisket (68%" burgers.

    • Wouldn't let you have?

      • Ye
" Sorry, we couldn't find the page you're looking for

The page may have moved or you might have typed an incorrect URL "

        • Not at your selected store

  • Thanks op

  • +3

    these are all overpriced

  • How long are they on sale for?

Can I get them delivered or is the special only available for click and collect?

    • +1

      Delivery or C&C

      Online shop only

      • Thanks, do you know what day the sale ends?

  • weird, app says “any 5 for $45” but adds to the cart at $25 as per deal

  • Endless slabs of meat. Ehh

  • +3

    Schnitzel - 60% chicken.
I’m surprised 40% of the schnitzel is crumbing

    • That's about right for anything crumbed.

The crumbs have egg, oil and other ingredients in them that make them heavy

  • -4

Is this a common special, and do they taste any good. Thanks in advance

  • -1

These are just meat dishes to put with a meal. Who would pay $10 for 2 schnitzels anyway. Go to the deli counter and it's all cheaper, bigger with plenty of daily specials. I wouldn't buy these small packets at $5.

    • +1

      It's actually 4 schnitzels

      • +1

Oops me bad..it's still really just a normal price around $5. At 150gr a schnitzel they are pretty small. Deli is always cheaper for most stuff like this. Pay for the packaging and quality is same if not better

  • Heads up, my C&C order for today was cancelled at Willowdale Coles. Purchase was for 5 x the burger patties, 4 x souvlaki chicken and 1 x Filo rolls so maybe no stock?

    • +1

My order is partial cancelled due to stock shortage, but they offer me upsize portion for schnitzels. Try to set up preferred substitutes for your order before they start preparing it.

      • Ahhh good info. I've re-ordered at a different coles for tomorrow. I guess if it gets cancelled again i'll try another re-order with preferred substitutes. Cheers.

  • +3

Just did a trial run and added 10 various packs (burgers, schnitzel & lamb) to amount to $50 as per the special. I then added the 'MEAT5' coupon to get $5 (not yet expired), but noticed an extra $6.30 'chicken schnitzel family bundle' discount automatically applied, which takes the final price to $38.70.
Not bad at all if you ask me.

    • I had 4 packs of schnitzels in the order, took it to 2 and the discount disappeared. I also tried with 3, but no discount, therefore you need 4 packs to get the extra $6.30 discount.
    • Good info.
Might add another two snitzel packs for $3.70 extra.

Plus I'm going to change mine to 'select preferred substitute'

Usually I just leave it on "substitute at no extra cost"

      • +1

I modified my current order from 2 garlic herb snitzel to an extra 2, to 4 snitzel total. And no further discount added.
(Had a combination of 7 packs on 4 varieties) plain snitzel not available at my local, so just the G&H ones.
No extra discount added on checkout when ordering 4

        • you have to adds the plain schnitzel, Garlic and herb does not count to the bundle. Only the plain one.

          • @HungFan: Good to know, thanks. My cart had all original luckily.

          • @HungFan: Thanks
Plain, not available at my local.
Will stick with just the two packs as original order.

    • Thank you for this, just did this (only burgers and schnitzels at my local; hope they taste OK), with the extra discount it's a bargain.

  • Best part is ordering 6 meals for $25 with Meat5 (3 lots of 2 meals).

Then 2 are out of stock with no suitable substitution and another 2 are out of stock with a much better substitution (chicken paragons) at no extra cost, which then comes to 4 meals for $15 (as the Meat5 code still applies).

  • Anyone notice the crumbed Chicken Schnitzel 1.2kg pack everyday pricing ($10.50) is the same price as the 600g (also $10.50)? I think I'm beginning to see why some of this stuff is discounted by 50%…

    • I'm pretty certain it's a different product, check the ingredients and chicken content

  • +3

Er any 5 for $45 now

  • 5 packs are too many for me.
How long can u keep them at 4c?

Is it okay to put them in freezer for keeping them longer?

    • +1

yes you can freeze them, but they are now 5 for $45 instead, so still a small % off but less of a deal

  • +1

Turned up for click and collect to find out they didn't have anything. And didn't substitute anything.
So bought out ten two tins of tuna I'd ordered

    WTF

This after they confirmed the order by email at 8am

  • Unbelievable!! I got 1 of the 6 items I ordered. Apparently they’re “out of stock” no substitutions

  • Damn - had my cart good to go yesterday and left it for today to order =(

  • They didn't supply any of the 4 packs of Schnitzel I ordered. Waiting to see what my final invoice price will be as I will probably lose out on the $6.30 family bundle discount as well as the $5 'meat' discount as they only supplied 2 packs of burgers now.
Coles really needs to get their act in order as this happens far too often with orders cancelled/changed.

    • +1

Meat5 discount seems to still be included.

My $35 order of those meals all got cancelled (7)
I ordered $55.65 on total with some other things to the trolley. Wasn't sure if the $50 spend for click and collect needed to be before or after the $5 discount.
Soon realised after, when trialling some combinations, even though I would have paid $45.65, I still got the click and collect which has minimum $50 spend.
I was charged $25.65 to my credit card yesterday after picking up the C&C order.
But today in FlyBuys app, under activity, shows $30.65 spend.
Netting me 30 regular FlyBuys points.

Sooooo, seems it still registered as a $30 spend. And took $5 off.

Maybe someone smarter than me can confirm if I did still get the $5 off code, for meat products, which all were cancelled, or does it just look that way to me????

      • $50 spend for click and collect needed to be before the $5 discount , I even managed to get the full price of my "Coles Finest Beef With Brisket Burger 600g" refunded as they replaced them with an inferior lot of burgers meat which i was not happy with, and kept the $5 discount as well which made the other part of the order cheaper.

        • +1

Yikes, I put substitutions allowed for my order for Sunday pickup in the hope I get equivalent or better instead of cancellations, not happy to hear some poor substitutions happen.

  • +3

Coles Finest Beef With Brisket Burger 600g
    replaced with
Caves Road Beef Burgers Jumbo 600g

2x Coles RSPCA Approved Chicken Breast Schnitzel Plain Crumb 600g
    replaced with
Coles RSPCA Chicken Schnitzel Plain Crumb 1.2kg

    a win I guess?

    • Yep definitely. Mine were just not supplied.

  • Waiting for my SMS to pickup tomorrow - wonder what I'll end up with .

  • +2

Ordered 5 items and all 'out of stock', no substitutes. I'm guessing a price error/too cheap? Very disappointing

    • +1

Prob. As it was shortly 5/$45 online the day after.
