      • Thanks, this thread was updated as expired after my question. Looks like someone found the same deal using another link below though. :)

        • Yeah that’s pretty weird.

  • Anyone received their bonus points yet? I have 6k in ANZ rewards, I set up the auto redemption but doesn't look like it is transferring to velocity? When trying to set it up again, comes up with
Are you sure you want to set up this new Auto-Redemption?
This will be replaced with the new Auto-Redemption if you continue.

    • +2

Haven’t received yet, auto redemption appears to be working for me.

      • looks like redemption will go to Velocity on 21st so hopefully bonus hits soon after. Not seen the $50 back or the $95 Virgin Australia Travel Credit and 30 Status Credits yet either

        • +1

I've set redemption to occur after 2000 points is accumulated, and it has made a few redemptions already.
          No rebate/velocity points yet.

          • @bohn: thank you for letting me know, so take it you have hit the spend ($1500)?

            • +1

@Jono258: hit spend 20th October and have received a statement around 25th October.

              • @bohn: Cheers mate. Hopefully we both get the bonus soon

      • Autoredemtion has now happened but no bonus points etc. you? @Marrk @bohn

        • +1

          None of the bonuses yet

        • +1

I'm due for a second statement in a day or two.. we'll see if something happens then.

          • @bohn: cheers mate, good luck

          • @bohn: Got text today to say ive hit it

  • Hey guys,

I've been approved as of 10/11/2022. Received the card today and activated rewards program etc. Yet to spend $1500.

I note that the 75000 VFF rewards program now has expired.

Am I still eligible to receive the 75K VFF, $50 Cashback etc if I meet the $1500 spend requirement?

    Thanks in advance.

    • If you applied for this promotion while it was available then you will be eligible for the 75K VFF, $50 Cashback etc

      if you,
      1. meet the $1500 spend requirement within the first 3 months and
      2. you switch on and keep on ANZ Rewards Auto-Redemption for Velocity Points

      • Hey ck009,. Thanks so much for your reply.

        Much appreciated!

  • +2
    • Thank you, I applied via this link. :)

      • Just called them this morning and got approved right after confirming some details. How about yours?

        • Heard nothing back but I didn't bother to call… yet.

I applied for the Citi Prestige at the same time and got my ANZ Black Frequent Flyer a week or so ago so don't want to push it. Priority is getting my Citi approval over the line first.

          • @bargainsaregood: LOL, you know what, I also applied for the Prestige this morning and got approved in few mins after submitting docs. You may call Citi to push them.

            • @hawkeye93: Oh that's good for you.

Someone did call me yesterday to verify some details but still no approval email as yet.

    • Ha ha sneaky!!!

Make sure you take screenshot with the URL

    • This seems to be a new promo. Just got the email saying it's a special offer for velocity frequent flyers. Hopefully, all works the same

      • I copied the link from ar7ist's comment here, so it's not really new… but as long as ANZ says it's fine it doesn't really matter I guess.

    • Thanks, just submitted docs.

  • Ugh I've never been rejected for a credit card until this one, with only 1 other credit card to my name, goddamn ANZ are THE WORST.

    • Did they call you? What docs you submitted?

  • +1

Anyone got any of the perks yet? 75k, 30SC, $95 travel credit of $50 cashback?

    • Nope

    • +1

Neither. Their T&C's says they're supposed to send an email up to 90 days from qualifying

    • Nein.

    • Nada but they do have up to 90 days after qualifying spend is met to send out the email or SMS.

    • Nothing yet

    • +4

Phoned ANZ today, confirmed it could take up to 90 days, but the offer is there. Dude was nice and tried to escalate things but was told it's in Virgin's control.

      • don't think it's up to virgin at all
easy for them to say that to you I guess and get you to piss off

    • Also still waiting, auto redemption of points has occurred….

    • Nope not yet

    • Received text today to say ive met requirements but no points yet. Link in text didnt work either

  • ANZ decided to only give my wife 100k points instead of 160,000 for the old deal

    Anyone dealt with this before?

    • Got screenshots of your application showing the 160k?

      • We have MY screenshot, on Android, with my name at the top (someone unfortunately messaged me on teams, as I took the screenshot)

We don't have a blank screenshot for her iPhone.

Does anyone still have an old shot? I 100% did verify it was the 160,000 when we signed up, it was about 3.5 months ago now. Kinda pissed they can mess that up.

        • Photoshop is your friend.

          • @nightelves: They came through in the end - good on them. Wife and I both 160,000 points each.

I wanna sell mine, she wants to use hers, shrug

    • Which deal is that?

      • The old deal, spend 3k$ in 3 months, 130,000 points, 30,000 bonus points if existing ANZ customer.

        • better contact ANZ support team and lodge a complaint. You may even visit a branch to talk to a manager.

    • I had the same for the plat deal - 70k instead of the 110k for existing customers. Sorted with a phone call telling them I applied in app.

      • I think we applied on the web, because the app was crap?

        Should it make a difference?

        • From memory the 160k has only been available on the app for some time - and not available anywhere now.

          • @finnybro: I mean the app 100%, said 160k at the time of sign up, just to be clear.

I used the web and still got my 160k

            • @hamwhisperer: I remember there was a time when the web page bonus went down to 100k or 110k but the App still had the 160k bonus. My wife applied on the App and we have a full screen recording of the application. The 3k min spend is all done now but waiting for the bonus to show up. I will update when the bonus shows up.

  • Hit the $1.5k spend in the first statement last week, noticed it included an annual fee of $40 and reward program fee $55. Today both were credited back to my account. Surpirsingly its all automatic and no need to call to follow up etc.

Not sure if we still get the $50 back to the credit card?

    • +3

no credits back at all here.
      also no points.
anz are slow as shit on this deal

    • sorry my bad and I took it back… its not credited back but charged to my card… it was included in the statement last week, somehow the transaction lines only showed up today. I didnt know they charge a reward program fee? it was not mentioned in the offer page

      • offer page said $95 annual fee
        what does $55 + $40 come to? ;)

        • $55 is reward program fee for Quntas I bielieve, $40 is annual fee. Total is $95 which may be the first year annual fee on the offer page (instead of specifying the two it looks they combined it under annual fee)

          • +1

            @OzBargainAO:

$55 is reward program fee for Quntas I bielieve

Since this deal is for Velocity, I doubt the fee is for 'Quntas' ;)

ANZ always does it this way.

            • @bohn: ha yes sorry it should be Velocity ;)

              • @OzBargainAO: I thought only Qantas charges reward program fee, not Velocity? That's strange.

                • @hawkeye93: indeed, thats why I got confused with Quntas for a second. It does say reward program fee in the transaction line but no addtional details. I may go to a branch and check with them later when the $95 and $50 show up.

        • I checked again on that link, and if you scroll down to the "Rates and fees", you can see they mention this "Annual Fee $95 (includes $40 Annual Fee and $55 Rewards Program Service Fee)". But yeah, really weird for Velocity.

  • +5

Have made the spent, no points or refunds yet despite first statement done

  • Got hit the $95 annual fee but no $50 credit back. Anyone had the same thing?

    • +1

      yep

  • +4

    Hi All,

Hit spend and ANZ rewards have been transferred to my velocity, been charged $40 annual fee + $55 Reward program fee

    No bonus velocity points yet
    No $95 Travel credit
    No 30 Status Credit
    No $50 Back

    • Shit that's not good, i thought it would have gone through on the Redemption date that you set in the ANZ Rewards website

      • Same

        • +1

Don't think anyone has received anything yet.

          • @nightelves: hopefully comes through soon

            • +1

@Jono258: I haven’t received anything yet, 2nd statement should come tomorrow or next day, I will see what it says

  • Really want to close this for the next churn but waiting on ANZ to come to the party…

  • +5

Got my 2nd statement. No rebate. No points.

    • +1

Same, 47 days since my approval so halfway to 90 days

    • ffs. you think it's worth chasing up Velocity or ANZ or even Point Hacks at this point who could get in contact with ANZ to sort this kerfuffle out!

  • +4

Got my second statement. Have received nothing.

    • Same here. I get the auto redemption from ANZ Rewards into my Velocity, but no mass drop of the 75K points.

  • where does the travel credit go? is it into the VFF account or does it apply when I book through virgin using this card?

  • +9

Just called them about this confusion, the CS said we need to wait for 3 months for these promotion to be processed so it doesn't matter whether you've reached the minimum spending or not. Just wait and see then because I've just activated my card.

    • +1

Jeepers that's a while. Oh well will stop spending and just pay it off and wait 🐱

  • +2

ANZ are always slow with processing, $50 cashback and $95 Virgin should be Jan 2023 for most people

    • ANZ have never been slow for me.

      • +1

agreed, i have always found them very quick. This is probably the first time this has happened.

        • +1

100% speculation. This offer is a little 'different' than the usual ANZ promotions which have been much quicker because some of the benefits aren't 100% under ANZ control. Promotions like bonus QFF on QFF earn cards, bonus ANZ Reward points on ANZ earn cards, fee rebates, etc. may be more easily 'coded' into internal ANZ systems.

For this offer, it's an ANZ Rewards Points (non-VFF) earning card which doesn't directly accumulate VFF, rather it's calculated upon a transfer trigger. It's questionable granting 150,000 ANZ Reward Points assuming a 2:1 transfer because someone might change their redemption method, and they likely went into this deal with Velocity as a mutual partner which would alter the $ cost of VFF points distributed to customers.

The Virgin Travel Credit and SCs may require intervention from Velocity side, since this is unlikely to be automatically interfaced from ANZ Rewards to Velocity. I doubt that ANZ went in having purchased X vouchers, or be granted system access to add valuable SCs.

The $50 back I would have though to be much more straightforward, but again, speculating ANZ/Velocity have chosen to do a bulk processing of this particular PointHacks offer.

Just a waiting game I suppose.

          • @shift6: agree with your analysis completely mate.

    • I agree. Last ANZ card I had was this for this deal.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/484271/

After 3 months, no points, had to go to the complaints team like others in the comments of that deal.

I mostly try to avoid them but this seemed the best deal when I was looking to move to another card a few months ago. Hope its not another long drawn out thing.

  • +1

Messaged Points Hack on insta - They said they have no control over this and need to speak to ANZ.

  • +4

Just letting the group know that I have received a unique code from ANZ to process my rewards points, status credit and cash bonus. So all good on my end and only 7 weeks into this card. Hope all of you guys received the same.

The points were transferred instantly once I filled up the form.

    • So this was an email? Just checked my junk folder and got a normal ANZ statement email this morning, nothing else yet.

    • Thanks for the update. How many weeks since you hit the minimum spend? I am guessing you have received two statements by now?

      • +1

First spend on the card 16 November, received points today 8th December so less than a month.

    • +2

For those that are not sure how the $95 travel credit work see below:

Once you have completed the redemption process on the redemption website, the 75,000 Velocity Points and the 30 Status Credits will be credited usually within 2 business days and the $95 Virgin Australia Travel Credit will be emailed to the email address listed on your Velocity account usually within 4 months.

      • +2

hope don't have to keep the card open for another 4 months. wt..!

      • I haven't received the 75k and hit the spend the day I got the card back in October :/
