They havn't ran that deal since last year, wouldn't count on it necessarily

      • +1

Nothing is guaranteed, but end of calendar year is typically a very strong time for sign up offers (eg typically when Amex release their best ones etc).

        • Maybe wait for that 240k points Amex explorer deal? Not sure if it will happen again this month.

    • Rewards Black won't be coming with that deal for sometime i reckon - haven't seen that for a long time. Given the current offers at hand this seems like a pretty good deal to me. Wish that their credit team is not offshore and have more knowledge of how typical aussie household finances work.

  • +2

Sorry, that offer cannot be found or has ended.
Please take a look at our current credit cards and offers.

I've tried two browsers and my phone, all with the same result

  • +2

Not sure what everyone is clicking to receive the offer not being available error. But everytime I've clicked the link in the ops post and click apply it has worked fine.

    • Are you sure you're clicking all the way through? I get the same error message as everyone else

  • +1

Can anyone clarify if my partner is covered under their travel insurance. I keep reading spouse and/or dependants, i think it used too be travel companion or something to that effect.

    • +1

For anyone else who may want to know, yes your partner (spouse is defined as in a permanent relationship with the cardholder at the time the journey starts) Allianz rep on phone said this is a loosely defined term and merely making a statement that you are both in a relationship would suffice if it came to that.

  • I only ever get these cards for the gift cards? Does this deal still hold value for someone like me?

  • link dosent work, OP please clarify

  • Can the Velocity points be used for flights to South America?

    • +1

they can - you can redeem them for flights to the US with united and then get connecting flights down south, but routes & redemption may be patchy and you'll probably need more than 75,000 points to get there

  • For me, the sign up portal is only working on Mobile. Getting the same error on desktop, but mobile is working fine.

    • easier on desktop though to submit payslips etc. frustrating

    • Just tried on the mobile and not working either.

  • +3

ANZ applications are so annoying, been sent for manual process no doubt needing payslips etc sent in. AMEX are fully automatic with a decision in under a minute.

    • +1

I've had credit cards with NAB, Citi, ANZ, AMEX and now applying with St. George.

AMEX was the best, smoothest experience for me.
Decision in under a minute, in 3 days after application, I had the card in my had.
I've liked AMEX so much, that I've just continued to stay with them,
just for their customer service, portal and offers.

Slowest has been St. George…and still waiting.

      • +1

Yeah will always stick with my main AMEX. Great experience with them

  • +4

There is a way to get this link to work.
When we click the link in OP, we go to a page where we can click FIND OUT MORE & APPLY button.
Once you click that, it takes you to the page which has the Apply online now option. On this page, if you edit the URL and remove everything from the '?', then the link should work.
    Or just click this link.

Not a 100% sure if this will void the offer from Points Hack.

    • +4

The fact that so many people can't get through at all from the start makes me sceptical this will even be honoured for the people that's it's working for. I'm gonna give this one a miss.

      • +2

I'm sceptical about this too. So will wait for @pohaau to update us on this.

      • yep and OP has gone cold

    • Thanks, somehow that link worked for me but the OP's link didn't. Weird…

  • Has anyones application been approved automatically?

  • Offer available when you switch on and keep on ANZ Rewards Auto-Redemption for Velocity Points

    What does this mean ?

Also, do we get the 75,000 bonus VFF points as soon as we satisfy the $1,500 spend ?
(ie. don't have to keep the card for the whole year?)

    • +3

It means you need to set it so that all of your "rewards" points for spending money are converted to velocity points automatically

Once you spend the $1,500 you'll get the bonus points a few days after you get your statement for the month.
After the points come through you can cancel the card and move onto the next CC. Make note of when you closed the CC so you know when you're eligible for next year's ANZ credit card deal.

      • Thank you for replying and your thoughtful suggestion :-)

So, the 'auto-redemption' feature is a way to prevent people banking all their points,
and then transferring which amounts months & years later on.

      • What stops you from enabling auto- redemption but setting the redemption threshold high, eg 100k?

        • Nothing really I guess. But why would you?

  • Not working for me

  • How long will this be available for? I’ve just started working through a different card.

  • Link is yikes

  • For those getting the "Sorry, that offer cannot be found or has ended." message, try a different browser. I got the message with Edge, but was all good with Firefox

    • It went further on firefox for me, but after reviewing the perks, it goes to Sorry message again

  • +2

I would wait until this has been sorted before applying everyone.

  • how many months of payslips does this require?

  • That was quick..

  • +2

    This link works?

    • Saying 'Offer cannot be found' when you start to apply. Not sure if it has gone, or a temporary blip as it was due to end March 23 …

      • +1

Worked for me, application went through successfully.

  • expired?

    • +7

      Traitor

  • Is this bonus still available if I have recently opened an Anz Qantas Frequent Flyer Platinum card?

  • OP please comment why it expired so soon !!

  • +1

Any idea on likely salary requirement on this one?

    • +1

Judging from history, and with the minimum credit limit amount, the Platinum requiring a $35K salary.

  • +10

POINT HACKS can confirm this offer is now live again. Apologies for the inconvenience, some customers were experiencing problems during the sign up process. ANZ can confirm that this has since been rectified.

  • Anz application processed sucks for self employed

    • +1

even for full time employees - last time i was being asked why my "hourly rate" is different in two consecutive months' paysheets (when i'm getting a fixed monthly salary) - they couldn't understand why it differs (it is just mentioned in the paysheet for the sake of conformity with all types of employees - fixed monthly salary divided by number of working hours for that specific month). Oh well…

  • Which credit card offers the best complimentary travel insurance? I know CommBank does but it keeps rejecting my applications.

    • Does this one not include complimentary travel insurance that also covers covid?

  • +2

Has anyone had experience with asking them to lower the minimum credit limit under 6k? Or are they firmly set on that

    • +3

Firm. Standard for platinum branded cards is 6k, black/premium tier is 15k.

      • +2

        Thanks :)

  • Finally anz rewards lifting their game.
Now to wait for travel adventures to bring back their complimentary domestic flight and 120,000 reward points again

  • -1

As I have no plans to travel, I was thinking of applying for the Rewards Black instead: https://www.pointhacks.com.au/credit-cards/anz-rewards-black…

Could someone please confirm whether or not ANZ charge the AF for the first year?

There were much better deals last year from ANZ Rewards CC, and IIRC the AF was waived for the first year alone.
It looks like they are no longer doing this?

  • -1

My partner took out a card with ANZ and defaulted about 5 years ago. The default is now removed, is there a chance she can apply for this or is she blacklisted forever?

I would apply but I just closed an account with ANZ last month..

  • +2

What is the minimum income requirement? Will casual work be enough?

    • +2

Casual work is generally fine, but it depends on how much you make, your credit score and assets, etc. I was able to get a different ANZ card with the same credit limit as a casual!

  • Anyone know if I am eligible for this (or any other credit card) if I am on an 820 visa? It's the temporary partner visa before the PR.

    • +1

yes got approved for an ANZ card two years ago on a 820 visa.

  • CAN confirm that I initially couldn't get through but that it's live now!

  • My partner is getting maternity pay via Centrelink, can she apply?

    • +5

Pretty sure government payments wont pass the salary test.

  • Good deal, sadly not eligible as just closed ANZ Rewards Black back in May so waiting out 12 months.

    • Is it 12 months from close or open?

      • +2

        12 months after account closure.

  • +2

How long does it usually take for approval ( or rejection) after uploading the pay slips

  • Can I hold this card and the qantas frequent flyer card as well at the same time?

    • Yes

  • Any thoughts between this and the Citibank 60k points $0 AF?
ANZ rewards denied me Dec last year and have been churning elsewhere since

  • Anyone get approved yet? Wasn't even asked to upload my payslips?

Just got this at the end… is that normal for everyone else?

"Thank you for your application. We are reviewing your application and will be in touch shortly.

We may ask you for further documentation based on your circumstances. To find out more, visit: https://www.anz.com.au/personal/credit-cards/apply-card/supp…

Edit: Just got another email "Action needed on your ANZ Credit Card application"

However it is the same message as above… no action is required on my part so no idea why they put that in the subject when the action is still on them.

    • They will call you on monday is my guess. Lookout for a number from Ringwood, Victoria

  • Worked for me via Safari

  • +1

    Any idea when this expires?

  • what's the minimum credit limit on this one

  • +1

just applied online without issues except for having to upload documents. What a pain when uploading that the documents can't have spaces and symbols. Hopefully they review quickly and approve application.

    • What documents? Bank statement?

      • +1

they wanted payslips or bank statements for the last 3 months. Payslips was easier cos they can't see what you spend on your statements from your bank in case they think you spend too much compared to what you say you spend on the application

  • Would apply for this if I hadn't already applied for a Citi credit card last month and a Telstra plan this month, too many credit checks at once :/

  • +4

Experience so far based on 3 applications (myself and two others I know)

I got asked to submit 3 months of payslips.
person 2 got approved online immediately without any payslips
person 3 also asked to submit 3 months of payslips.

person 1 and 3 have a higher income than 2, but both have an active credit card currently. I had a shocking experience with ANZ last time to the point where I had to hassle them on social media to get my CC approved. Let's hope this time is different. Will update you all

    • +3

person 2 probably has accounts and history with anz.

  • Called up ANZ for a progress update, they asked me to upload payslips. Rang back about an hour after emailing through and was approved within 5 minutes.

(For background, I currently have an FF Black with ANZ held for the past 2.5 years but was still required to submit payslips).

    • +1

That was quick. I uploaded payslips on the weekend but not heard anything yet.

      • I only called them because the email I had received was vague about what I had to do next. They told me to upload payslips and then I asked about calling back once I submit them for them to do the tests.

Try your luck - call 13 22 73 and ask for "credit credit application" and mention you submitted payslips and want to progress your application. They're open until 7pm AEST.

        • +1

actually they just called and approved it on the phone

    • +1

Each application is different. Even if you just apply for one last week, they still want your whole 3 months payslips again. Unless your salary pay into an ANZ account then no need.

  • +1

Just got approved (applied Friday night), quick and easy process.

  • Submitted application last night (did not ask me to upload payslip) and then got an email saying:

"Thank you for your application. We will be in touch shortly, and may ask you for any further documentation we may need based on your circumstances."

What should I expect next? How long does it take to get approved? Thanks.

    • +1

few business days. depends as per their statement. if they need more info then they'll ask you to submit more documents or even call you and ask some questions. else, it'll be approved.

      • Thanks mate I will be patient and wait then…

    • +1

Just received another email advising me my application has been rejected…

"We’re writing to confirm that we’re unable to offer you an ANZ Rewards Platinum card at this time, based on the information you provided."

Can I call them asking why? It's so frustrating.

      • +2

ANZ's card applications are terrible. Any idea why? What type of employment do you have?

        • +1

          Mine is rejected.
