Received a call today, asking the same questions I’ve filled in online. Line discounted twice, he did not finish. Later received a text to book another time.
    Wasting time…

  • +1

stuck on saving profile…. anyone else?

    • that happened to me.
ended up restarting it later on and it went through okay.
bit surprised they didn't even send through a link to resume it - I had to enter it all again.

    • Same here.

  • +1

For those still tracking applications…Applied Monday 8 am —> received call from ANZ 'credit assessor' 7 PM Tuesday —> Approved 7:30 PM Tuesday.

  • They called me yesterday when I was in a meeting so I couldnt pick up. They message me 3 time slots they could call back today. I chose 10am-12pm. They called at 10:09am, I got up to step outside and just missed the call and they sent me another message. Its ridiculous they give one attempt and leave no call back number so I cant even follow it up myself. Its going to be a game of chicken at this point

    • +3

      I chose 10am-12pm. They called at 10:09am

      That's fair game.

      • It is fair game but not having a call back option and only calling once is absurd is it not?

        • Last time I checked mate ANZ had different customers to contact

  • Going to apply but cant see where i put my velocity number?

    • +3

You enter it on the ANZ Rewards website after activating your card (ensure you enable auto redemption to get the bonus points and status credits)

      • can you elaborate on this?

        • +4

          Go to: https://www.anzrewards.com/
Register an account (you'll need to activate your card on anz.com.au or the app first)
          Go to Airline Partners: https://www.anzrewards.com/transfer/programs
          Select Velocity
Scroll to the bottom and click on "Set-up Auto Redemption"

          :)

          • @soundboy5010: When I try and setup for the auto redemption, it gives me two options:

*Redeem for a specific amount of Velocity Points whenever your Reward Points reaches the required amount

*Redeem as many Velocity Points as possible, in regular intervals

            Which one should I choose?

            • @ar7ist: That's up to you.

Want points to transfer immediately to Velocity at a certain threshold? Pick the first option.
Want all of your points to transfer to Velocity once a month? Pick the second option.

I applied on Tuesday afternoon, took a few minutes and was immediately successful. Did not get asked for statements or anything. Got the letter today (2 days later) with the physical card and brochure information. Process was quick, easy and smooth.

Note - I bank with ANZ and this is my first credit card.

  • +3

Applied Friday. Called Mon and got approved. Card came today. Then had to call and wait on hold for an hour to get registered for phone banking in order to login to the app. Not the smoothest process.

    • +2

every time I get an anz card I need to ring to get my previous customer registration number unblocked.

      • +1

i was fed up with that process …..over the years of churning and opened a Progress Saver account….just deposit $10 every month and you have a ongoing ANZ account….

        • yeh I set one up for my wife last time , better get myself one now.
it's a stupid process they have.

        • +1

Easier/cheaper option is to open a progress saver account. No ongoing requirements to keep it open.

          • @vetopower: think a $10 monthly deposit is a requirement (at least it was, when I signed up)

            • +2

@ck009: isn't that only to get bonus interest?

              edit: found it

              Features
Bonus interest if you deposit at least $10 in one transaction and don't withdraw or transfer money out (or incur fees and charges)
              No monthly account service fees

            • @ck009: Nah you don't.

  • +1

Applied for this on the first day it became available, got the card yesterday 13/10, and set up auto redemption this morning on rewards website.

The worse part about this is the unblocking of internet banking, spent 4 hours on hold over 4 calls to get this sorted.

  • +1

Applied Tuesday. Approved instantly. Got card Thursday. Great process.

  • +2

Applied on the 7th. Uploaded payslips. Haven’t heard anything.

  • First time getting a velocity card, am I making a mistake for not waiting for a stacking deal like https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/696770 ?

    • +4

Those offers don't come out all the time, same with Qantas, so don't hold out for them. If you happen to get bonus points at the time then that's cool but otherwise yeah na

  • +1

Applied Wednesday night, uploaded payslips and approved Friday morning. Makes a change from the usual hoops I have to jump through with an ANZ application, but will see yet haha

  • Applied Monday night and still waiting for approval. Have had a phone call twice since asking about my payslips. My position at work has meant I am now being paid more (from the start of the 3 months of payslips to the most recent) and they wanted to know why and if that will continue?! The second call was regarding my salary sacrifice deductions and they asked for that statement as well, which was Thursday. It's always hard to explain to someone that my SS deductions on my statement show "mortgage" but the whole amount doesn't go to that and they see that as a discrepancy from my application! Having my doubts but let's see what happens!

  • +2

    Applied on the 7th (Thursday)
    Supplied payslips on 8th (Friday)
    Approved 13th (Thursday)
Card arrived today - 17th (Monday)

ANZ are usually difficult to deal with, but this time wasn't too bad.

  • Hey guys do you know if closing an Anz travel adventure will disqualify from earning the velocity points? Thanks

  • +1

3 months of payslips was not enough, they wanted me to wait for my next payslip and provide that as well. Provided last Thursday and have yet to hear back from them(email)/can’t call them.

    • +1

I should also mention that I left highest available credit selected, has popped up on Credit Savvy as an account enquiry for $50k - probably should have selected a lower amount.

      • +2

Lol, $6K credit not enough for you?

First rule of credit card application: only ask for minimum amount - unless you don't care.

  • Surprisingly easy process this time with ANZ, unlike my previous credit card application experience.

Will hit the minimum spend this week and will update when my bonus velocity points have posted.

  • How do you log jnto app. No crn number yet? Or does that come separately after card?

    • +1

you need to call anz for that

      • Twice today on hold for 40 minutes before giving up. Ill try tomorrow

    • +1

Had a previous CRN number from another ANZ card. Worst part was waiting over 4 hours over 4 calls to link this card with my CRN number

  • I got a big welcome pack in the mail full of junk and booklets and T&C's from ANZ, and then a letter that says card will be delivered separately in a few days. Was that the same process for everyone?

    • yeah except both came at the same time.

    • Not here, got them altogether.

    • my card came first before the welcome pack 2 days later

      • Thanks to our Postal. Card is arriving together with PIN.

    • Junk + card in one letter, then pin came separately ~5 days later

    • Got approved Thursday, welcome pack came on Monday. No sign of card or pin so far…

  • +1

What happens if you don't turn on Auto Redemption? Do you just get 75,000 ANZ Reward Points?

    • +3

"If approved, you must activate the card, switch on and keep on Auto-Redemption with Velocity and make $1,500 worth of eligible purchases within 3 months of approval to receive the 75,000 Velocity Points, $50 cash back to your new card, $95 Virgin Australia Travel Credit and 30 Status Credits."

AKA. the 75,000 wont convert to reward points, you forgo any bonuses if you don't turn on auto-redemption.

  • How do you use the Travel Credit? Is it a coupon code they give you to use on Virgin's website when making a booking?

I assume if you cancel your credit card before making use of the $95 travel credit, it voids the credit?

  • +2

Has anyone's letter of offer mention velocity? Mine doesn't mention velocity anywhere.

    • +3

Yeah, I called up because I was a new customer and they said the welcome pack is generic - I confirmed on the phone that I did have this deal.

  • ANZ has been a pain to get verified despite being a customer for the last 20 plus years. Wasted a few hours on the phone and trying to get verified online and over the phone failed and I had to go to a branch with the same IDs.

  • +3

Just so people know, in the terms and conditions, it states "This offer is available until 31st March 2023 and may be withdrawn or changed at any time without notice"

  • +1

Signed up day of deal post. Still waiting for assessment team. Had issues with a credit ban. Been a very annoying few weeks

    • +1

Finally got an approval email. Card on the way. Hope the pointshack deal registers correctly on my account

  • Forgot to turn on auto-redemption to Velocity points. Spent almost $1.5k. Anyone know if will need to spend it again???
And is everyone without an ANZ transaction account paying the credit card bill via CardPay Direct?

    • +1

I think you'll need to turn it on and meet the spend again. You could ask ANZ? It's a stupid condition.

      • For me I created the rewards account linked my velocity and spent . Now after 5 days they told me that the account is not activated and I had to setup auto redemption again and need to spend again .gurrrrrrrrr

        • that's annoying.
          it's a stupid requirement.

        • Sorry to hear that. I would argue that on the ANZ webpage for the deal, it does swap them around and say spend $1.5k within 3 months and turn on auto-redemption.

    • +1
      • As per your link it's the account number on the statement, not the card number. For me the last two digits are different.

        • +1

I have yet to receive a statement, used the card number with no issues.

  • I suppose the $95 travel credit will be issued in the following month that I meet the $1500 spend requirement. Then if I cancel the card after I got all the points and the travel credit, suppose I still keep the $95 travel credit under my Velocity account?

  • +1

Anyone got the SMS or email after meeting spend requirements? How long did it take before you got the link to the bonus points?

    • +1

I have spent well over the $1500 and nothing yet, haven’t even seen points on ANZ Rewards yet in general. I presume points get added after statements are generated? This is my first rewards credit card due to their crap interest rates.

      • when I go to anzrewards, I see that the normal earned points have posted. $1500 spend = 2250 reward points. I have 2280 reward points and turned on auto redemption before any spend. Just a waiting game then

  • I usually don’t like negging deals. But this one deserves it because of ANZ. Applied, supplied everything, spoke to their assessors few time. No update, no rejection or approval. It has been almost a month now.

    • Follow up, it has probably fallen through the cracks and they have lots of it.

      • I have followed it up five times now. No result so far. It should just be all automatic like AMEX. We are in 2022 and ANZ still can’t get their sh** together

        • +1

I'm surprised you haven't been able to get a result over the phone, I haven't had great experience with them, however I have been approved on the phone on a few occasions. And I have made sure I don't hang up until I get an answer.

          • @nadan: I guess I will have to do that or ask them to delete my application and revoke credit check. Waste of time so far. Doesn’t seem like they want customers anymore.

  • +3

My 1st statement was issued yesterday. Spend>1500 but no signup bonus or $95 travel credit yet. Charged $95AF but the $50 cash back hasn't been applied to account yet.
My auto redemption option to VFF is on since day1.
Hopefully things will fall in place in 2nd statement.

    • Yeah same. Hope I don't have to follow up.

    • Same here

    • +1

Just logged into my rewards. Under Auto-Redemption it mentions the next date the points will be redeemed. For me it's 17 Nov.

Perhaps the 75k will be credited then? I'll update if it happens.

      • I get mine redeemed once I hit 2000 points - a few have come through but no bonus/rebate/etc.

  • Got my ANZ welcome pack and 3 days later no card yet. Why would they split the deliveries, makes no sense

  • Finally got my card and it’s transparent plastic. Is everyone else’s like that? Looks very cheap and nasty

    • +1

yeh but I've never used the physical card - just in google wallet and online.
once I get my points etc it's going to be cancelled anyway.

  • 1 DP - new to ANZ, applied on Wed, right after the application submission page, it asked for 3 payslips, submitted right away. Got the approval today, welcome kit and card coming in 3-5 days, need to complete an ID check at an ANZ branch before first use. Very smooth process overall!

  • Anyone have any issues creating an ANZ Rewards account? No more how many combinations of email / password, or browsers I try, it doesn't let me activate.

Tried forgetting password / email, neither work.

Received my first month statement and didn't see any rebate, or VFF points so wanted to check if I have my auto-redemption on (I do remember ticking it during my application).

Very frustrating that I can't even register a rewards account.

    • Seems it worked on another computer, not sure why it was my 1Password browser extension!

  • +1

"Sorry, that offer cannot be found or has ended." just tried on several browsers and mobile. did i miss out? :(

    • I was able to load the sign up page fine

      • hmm. when I click through from point hacks to ANZ site and click "Apply online now" I get the offer not found message. I actually could access it yesterday but didn't get to complete the application. anyone else able to access?

  • Same as above…..can't get through. has offer ended?

    • I was able to load the sign up page fine

  • +1

Yeah offer has ended I think?

  • does anyone got an error after submitting application ? i submitted and failed . dont wan't to redo again if it's going to theire system..

  • +1

I had to disable adblocker to be able to click through from the Pointhacks website to the ANZ website

    • yeah, it's still working.

I just want ANZ to deliver on the points/rebate etc.

  • Is this deal still live - I can't seem to access it through the PointHacks site. It tries to take me to ANZ's secure application portal and closes the tab immediately after?

    • Whoops, retried with an incognito window and it worked, my bad

  • Has this deal expired? I just clicked on the link to apply and it's now directing to the ANZ site stating it's 50,000 ANZ Reward Points for $1500 eligible spend during the first 3 months.

    • Looks like it’s over.
