I am sorry if this has been asked/answered many times before. Does buying GCs from places like Shopback/CashRewards/Reward Gateway etc count as eligible purchases?

    • +4

      Yes.

first year as (profanity) @Lizard Spock

I had just closed my suncorp after taking up this offer earlier in the year. Can I sign up again? Perhaps with a fake moustache?

Strangely all i can see is it say not eligible for "existing" customers… but cant seem to find a reference to 6, 12, 18 month eligibility criteria.

      • I can't see that (but didn't check the FULL T&C's)
Would it mean existing Platinum card holders or existing Suncorp customers?
Seems a bit odd not to allow existing suncorp customers

        • omg, it's right there, sorry, blind

Existing Suncorp Bank Credit Cardholders are not eligible to apply for introductory offers.

Is anyone else having issues loading the page once you’ve hit ‘apply’?

    • Yes! Just some derp page appears with no content

    • It seems to be working now

  • Dam I paid $125 for this card

    • You paid $129 and you got 50k extra bonus points … *SMH
      Its not the same deal…

    How convoluted.

National Australia Bank Limited (ABN 12 004 044 937, AFSL and Australian Credit Licence 230686) (“NAB”) is the credit provider and issuer of Suncorp Clear Options Credit Cards. Suncorp-Metway Ltd ABN 66 010 831 722 (“Suncorp Bank”) promotes and distributes Suncorp Clear Options Credit Cards on NAB's behalf under an agreement with NAB. NAB has acquired the business relating to this credit from Citigroup Pty Ltd (ABN 88 004 325 080, AFSL and Australian Credit Licence 238098) (“Citi”) and has appointed Citi to assist to administer the Credit Cards. Suncorp Bank will not guarantee or otherwise support NAB's obligations under the contracts or agreements connected with the Credit Cards (other than those relating to Suncorp Internet Banking and Suncorp Telephone Banking).

Applied for this last week and got approved pretty quickly, maybe 48 hrs after providing payslips and gulp a photo of my drivers licence and Medicare card lol. Got the card today, had to call to register for online banking but now it's all good to go. Shame I won't get the points in time to get the 25% bonus on transfer to velocity.

Sorry, a terrible bank, second to AMP now worse as it has been sold off and somebody has to make up for the loot it went for.
Rewards have to be manually activated, full page advertising NOT disclosing relevant conditions etc etc!
Maybe if you are unemployed and have time to churn in and back out again.
Rest of institution is next to useless, even the app lacks behind average. Transfers take longest, up to 4 business days.
Also keeps dropping accounts from app for no apparent reason.
Largest margin known to me between lending and savings rates.

  • What's the best card for cashback/gift card rewards now? Have too many Qantas points, so wanting to take a break from collection..

  • Does anyone know if Suncorp refunds prorata annual fees like Citi? Asking as they're both under NAB.

Another NAB/Citi card. A previous deal suggested they reject applications if you've applied for another NAB/Citi card in the last 3 months, can anyone confirm?

Makes churning hard if so when they basically have every card outside of Westpac/St George, ANZ, and Commbank.

    • +2

Can confirm. I applied for Citi last August and got approved. Applied for Suncorp and got rejected last month.

      • “Last” As meaning Aug 2022?

    • +1

I had a NAB card about a month ago. Didn't impact my application.

    • I have this suncorp card and applied for 2x citibank credit cards within 3 months and all got approved pretty quickly

  • After the churn, do you all close the credit card account off record?

    • +1

Yes - do your spend, pay off in full, get all your points, close card, repeat.

  • You can also transfer points to velocity… 2:1 ratio
Also probably good at times like these… extra 25% points
    https://experience.velocityfrequentflyer.com/partners-offers…
Obviously points won't land in time to transfer.
50k velocity points is better than $400 in e-giftcards in my opinion but each to their own I suppose.

  • Does the website not work when you click "apply now" ?

    • I too get this:
Information as at : Sunday, 16 October 2022.

I'm overseas and thought it was a geo thing, tried an AUS VPN to apply… still same thing so I gave up.

      • It looks like it's working now (at least for me and it wasn't previously)

  • Requires your medicare card photo for some raisin

  • For anyone who has this card and met the spend requirement, how long did it take to get the bonus points?

    • Update: points came through the day after my statement

  • I heard you can transfer these to Qantas as well. Does it work out to 50k Qantas points?

  • Applied last week and submitted the required docs. Still heard nothing. Called the 13 number several times, and each time they hung up on me lol
