  • That is a sweet deal :)

  • Bummer that the 77 is not included.

    • +9

That is frustrating, the 65" is also not included.

      • +5

65” is $3295 with code OCT202212 from their TGG eBay store
It has been cheaper before tho

        • +5

Yeah, I am hoping for a sub $3k price come Black Friday.

          • @FuRyZ: With inflation the way it is, keep dreaming.

            • +4

@serpserpserp: Just a few weeks ago there was a deal for a 65" C2 with a LG soundbar for $3017. There was also an Ebay deal for $2883.25 back in July, I would have pulled the trigger in July had they allowed shipping to QLD.

I think its likely we will see a sub $3k 65" C2 pretty for a sale as large as Black Friday.

              • +2

@FuRyZ: I bought LG C2 65 for $2800 from TGG 2-3 weeks back. Had to haggle a bit but wasn't difficult.

            • +4

@serpserpserp: Forget inflation. The dollar will be the problem.

              • +1

The dollar will be the problem.

Yeah, most businesses will trade Forex on monthly terms and the AUD has just landed in the toilet so expect everything to go up next month (or at best not come down).

The bright side is that hopefully this will put a brake on spending and limit further interest rate rises.

                @happydude: Thanks RBA

      • That is frustrating, the 65" is also not included.

You know life is good when the biggest problem is not finding a 65" OLED on sale 😁

  • Does anyone know if there are other good deals? I have an LG OLED with burn in… I'm a bit worried about purchasing another LG OLED again.

    • +1

Are you worried about purchasing another LG OLED? Or another LG?

All WOLED panels are LG, so that rules out the majority of OLED.

Otherwise there is QDOLED, but this year is the first year they have been around. Only Samsung and Sony A95K use them (afaik).

      • +9

LG changed my panel on my 65" B8 with one dead/red pixel. Purchased June 2019, Out of factory 2 year warranty. New panel fitted. Installer who is outsourced said you'll get 5-6 years ACL on OLED panels for burn in/dead pixels 👍.

        • @SoTightEcoLPI
What did you tell the representative? I purchased my OLED55B7T in May 2018.

          • +3

@felto82: Log a case and send a photo of the burn in. LG replaced the panel on my 2016 B6 (a model known for burn in on red pixels) in early 2020 without any delay or arguing.

            • @jnewau: Yes pretty much this. LG were pretty good with my case, took a while but got there in the end. It was only one dead red pixel in the top right about 5" off the edge. I would just sit there in Dolby Vision and stare at the one red pixel on my couch.

    • +18

If the burn in is significant enough then call LG customer service up and they will replance the panel for free. Just had this done to my 65" C7 which had significant red pixel burn in.

Its a bit of a process but i'm very happy with the outcome and the new panel is flawless

      • +9

We need more people sharing their experiences like this. Thanks

        • Not LG but I had a great experience with Samsung when my UA60ES8000 started to die - in 2018 they gave me a full refund (~$4300) for a TV I bought in 2012..

I loved that TV. First major adult home theater purchase that I paid for in cash and the picture was amazing.

I can't remember exactly what the issue was now, but it started to turn itself on and off at random, I think.

The repair dudes came out pretty quick and after swapping each of the major components (only to find their refurbished replacement screen was a dud), they recommended I use some magic words with Samsung to basically say "they tried, it's not repairable". I was then given an option of a new, lower tier TV (worth about 2k) or a full refund.

I would buy Samsung again every time because of this… except I didn't. I got the LG C1 earlier this year and the picture is amazing. The blackest blacks!

      • +2

This isn’t a one off case, whoever is worried about burn in, don’t be. LG will replace panels 5+ years old without an argument

      • How old is your TV? I will definitely do this… How did you contact? Via email or is there a phone number?

        • +3

A C7 is a 2017 TV, so 5yrs old. I’ve seen even older get replaced

    • +4

Ozbargain members have had their 2017 panels replaced after I told them to call LG with burn it and it was done free of charge.

      • +4

This is quite surprising, as LG are notorious for their atrocious customer service and unwillingness to assist (and this is certainly representative of my experience with them).

        • +2

These days they are very cooperative in the past I would agree with you

          • +1

@solidussnake: It must be limited to the telephone representatives, as I recently dealt with email and live chat representatives and they were smugly unwilling to assist. I won't give the backstory, but the request was very reasonable considering the circumstances.

            • @Ben1985: I am just on the chat now… They have told me it will cost me to get repaired. I will try to call them and see how I go.
@Del Boy what did you say to the representative when you called?

      • +1

Same as with my B7 had burn in and they replaced the panel. Came out unscrewed the back computer/brain bit, attached a new screen ,perfect picture. Still the best picture quality I have ever seen. No problem, easy to deal with and has been perfect since. It was well out of warranty. LG were easy to deal with.

        • @ern123 what was the conversation you had with them? Just so I can make sure I'm saying the right thing when I'm contacting them.

          • +2

@felto82: I'll chime in here - this is literally the message I sent them (found it in the ticket email) to get my 2016 panel fixed back in 2020. I attached a couple of photos as well to the original request.

Their first response was to acknowledge and agree to send out a tech to replace the panel.
Here is the message verbatim (typos included) with the serial number removed

            Hello,
I have this display and it's showing signs of burn-in across the bottom of the display. This TV cost me $4246 in 2016, and I don't believe that a TV of this value should be having major issues in only 4 years.

It appears from looking online that there are many others also seeing the same issue with the B6 series from 2016. Theres a bar visible on the panel (which appears to be from ABC news 24 as I can see a bar, plus a clock outline) . I have attached a photo, the flash on my camera makes it seems less than it really is, it is particularaly noticeable on anything with red in the display. The panel has 5626 hours on it. The serial number of the TV is (removed)

What can LG do to resolve this as I do not believe this TV should be failing after 4 years.

            • @jnewau: Thank you so much! I will give it a go.

              • +1

@felto82: Good luck! I think you just need to imply that you don't think a TV of whatever price you paid should fail and that triggers their ACL tingly sense which appears to move things along.

Everyone seems to have different experiences. I note another poster got their ES8000 fixed by Samsung for free but I have had 2 dud Samsungs - a 55" ES8000 as well as the notorious C7000 Plasma which was plagued by the screens having a purple tinge, and had a terrible experience with Samsung.

                • +1

@jnewau: @jnewau so 2 1/2 hours later on the slowest chat ever… They are sending a technician over to assess the TV after raising an issue. Thank you so much for your help!

          • @felto82: Sorry hadn’t checked my messages. Just saw your post now. Hope you did ok. I just rang them said I believed the picture was faulty. They had me send In photos. Sent out a tech with a new panel. It was fairly straight forward. Just said I was disappointed about an expensive tv having a problem. I was nice now arguing, watching it now fantastic picture since no faults.

      • Do you have to be the original owner for this to happen?

  • Damn it! I just bought this 55" for $2500 cash down from $2595 thinking it was an ok deal.

    • +8

      That's a terrible deal. It's regularly around $2300.

      • I'm from a rural area with no competition. Online I couldn't find it cheaper than $2595

  • -2

Anyone know much about the Hisense a7hau range? Looking for a cheap 4k tv for the ps5..

    • +1

Save up more money or get a smaller size and sit closer.

      • +1

get a smaller size and sit closer.

This piece of wisdom is often overlooked. If I sit on my couch and hold my 6" phone up, it gives a bigger picture than my 65" TV 3 metres away. 😁

        • Well, not to that extreme. Personally, I was dead set on getting 65+ because I sat so far away. Eventually, I reorganised the room and very happy with my 43!

        • +1

Strap it to your face with rubber bands and it'll be like you are in the front row of imax

    • +1

Yeah, you'll get better value from the cardboard box.

    • If I remember correctly, the A7HAU does not have HDMI 2.1 - internationally it does though

  • +3

Do you guys think I should hold off until Black Friday?

    • +2

There will almost certainly be better deals then, if you can wait a month and a half.
You'll probably save $200 if you wait.

      • Thanks we’ll be away for 3 weeks anyway

  • Super annoying as paid 2150 3 weeks ago for 48 inch :(
Got the 70 in real cash which helped a bit but still!!

    • Do you live rurally?
It's been under $2000 many times.

      • +1

Nah just impatient, bought on public holiday.

        • I bought 48 two weeks ago for $2000 from JB plus $100 gift JB gift card also I paid with %10 discount gift card so it cost me $1800 plus $100 JB gift card

  • C2 or G2? Don't need for gaming and great sound is not requirement as will be having external speakers.

    • +3

      G2 in my opinion

      • +4

        Without a doubt.
If you can afford a G2, you buy a G2.

    • +1

When the price gap closes in G2, at the moment I still think C2. Personally waiting for the gap to close a little more and pull the trigger on a G2.

    • +2

      You can get

      55 G2 for $2,950
      65 G2 for $3,750

Both at Video Pro. There may well be a better deal in the coming weeks so as the others have said, for that extra $ I would go the G series as well.

I current have a 65 GX which has bene great. Moving that puppy upstairs for the wife if a sub $6k 77' G2 comes along post black friday.

Not sure prices will get as low as they previously did, I got my folks a 77 G1 for $4790 when JB was having a crazy sale a few months back but I don't think the stock is there for new models + the whole general inflation issue.

      • We wish 77 G2 can come down that low post Black Friday.

  • Really good deal on the 55. Haven't seen this or its twin the Sony A80K this cheap…

    • I was offered $2050 for C2 55 few weeks back. Ended up getting C2 65 at $2800.

  • +1

42" so tempting for a monitor, but still a tad too big

    • I've actually found it to be quite nice, but I use the sides as places to store windows I have to look at less. I probably only actively use 70% of the screen but it's like having a giant whiteboard in front of you to see all the info you need at once

      • Viewing distance and desk size?

        • Desk depth is 80cm. Add a bit for viewing distance…

          • @Ibz: At 1m roughly are you straining your neck?

  • Can you use both cash rewards and cash back??

  • -1

    No 65

  • -2

Grabbed 3 of the 82 inches.

    1 for garage
    1 for granny flat
    1 for shed

TikTok lad: Nice tvs ma’am, what do you do for a living?

      • +2

He said only 82" and not 83" TV ;)

  • WHY NO 65!!!!

  • +1

Thanks OP, grabbed a couple 83's for the kids rooms..

  • -1

Damn I got the c1 for 6k thinking the c2 will never hit this low….ffs

  • -2

    Damn, 97" LG C2 not included….Need to upgrade the 83" C1

    • -1

      Get a projector dumbo.

  • My experience so far…

Bought a 55" from the Good Guys a few weeks ago. Still yet to be delivered by Toll. Bunch of a**holes. Lied about attempted delivery while I was home all day. Get played for over a week by Toll. On about 4 consecutive days, they tell me it will come the next day. Never does. Good Guys wouldn't give refund as they're still investigating. Toll finally admits they can't find the TV. Tell me to refer to the Good Guys on what to do next. Last week get an email from a store manager saying they'll look into it. This week comes and I still don't have a tv.

    • +1

I think it's about time you threaten them with the 3 magical letters.

    • +2

Yeah, had much better luck with JB. Ordered Monday, said it will be there Saturday. Got there Saturday.

    • +1

Bought the LG from Good Guys back in July, after a week still no dispatch notification - Called them and within half an hour of hanging up got an email and SMS saying it had been dispatched and to expect delivery next day, if only they had done that at the start

      • +1

        Skills shortage. Need more immigrants.

    • +2

Update: The a**holes actually delivered the 55" C2 today. Still annoyed as I've lost 3 weeks of usage, hours of time spent on the phone/webchats, days waiting for nothing and now this price is cheaper than the last posted deal at The Good Guys.

Hope your experience with Toll goes better.

  • Damn, why do I have to be Overseas

  • Anyone know what the 65" would be worth proportionally with these discounts? If they had it.

  • +2

Managed to get 55'' price down further from $2205 to $1990 by combining the followings: 3% Shopback (make sure you start by activating shopback first, then purchase and add Oct10 promo code, after that submit a $140 storecash when you got the order number). Blackfriday might go as low as $2000 in the same range.

Shopback won't combine with Cashreward cos they are session-based scripts.

    You're welcome.

    • OzB skills to pay the bills

  • +1

FYI, the 83" C1 was $5700 with cash back 5 months ago at Myer
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/699714

A salesman at JB HiFi said the best time of year to buy is during Black Friday

  • Has anyone received the 55” yet ?

    • They just gave me a $20 voucher for delays and offered a full refund. No new delivery date yet.
