Yes made use of this recently good deal. One warning with sendle though if things go wrong - They HAVE NO CONTACT NUMBER!

    • +11

And things go wrong. Parcels don't move for over a week - 'we didn't know it was there' even though their system very clearly states parcel has been lodged…

      • Tbf this happens with auspost too. And every non premium shipping company.

      • +1

All the time, they don't pick up for days on end, some of the links on ebay to resolve issues just break to 404, and customer service chat is hybrid, making you answer a bunch of idiotic questions for the pleasure of waiting an extended period for chat support, solutions involve you paying again and waiting for a refund 6 weeks. Truly a sh!those service

    • +6

Agreed, I had used Sendle twice and both times I had to submit a late parcel enquiry. At least the buyers were patient while I communicated with them saying there was in delay.
It’s really a hit and miss

    • +3

They used to be really good in the early days, but the quality of service has dropped a lot. It can also depend on who the local agent is - I’ve had Couriers Please before and they were great, now I get Fastway/Aramex and they’re not as good.

      • Totally opposite experience for me - CouriersPlease are thieving liars while Aramex got something to Bendigo in a couple days last year.

      • Sendle use Couriers Please a LOT!
The driver that rocks up to pick up your package or deliver your package will akmost always be (in my experience) a Couriers Please driver

    • +4

If you leave them a message, they usually reply back the same day within few hours. I have moved over 50 parcels at economical prices. If its not urgent, its OK to send with them. I usually add insurance when its expensive items. Best thing they pick up the parcel from your place saving you time. Only issue is thier tracking sux. But if its aramex picking up the parcel, you can track directly on aramex site.

      • +2

eBay no longer has insurance option for Sendle (max limit now is $300). Some of them do not pick up on the day booked (wasted my whole day waiting for them). Couriers answered when I asked them was that they pick up if they happen to deliver in the area that day, otherwise they are too busy!

        • +4

I've had CouriersPlease not pick up two mornings in a row, and I couldn't remove the consignment's auto-generated tracking number from eBay after switching to AusPost. They also diverted a Perth-bound parcel to Adelaide and "lost" it for weeks; the buyer had to deal with this.
After a string of non-deliveries/pickups over 2 years - drivers lie about attempting - I'm through with Sendle.

          • +4

@Techie4066: This, drivers basically too lazy or don't think it's worth picking up your parcel, they just mark it as "no answer", except you have been home all day and have a camera set up. My local guy lied 4 days in a row, then I called and complained and told them I had a camera and have been home and the pr!ck doesnt come, and they sent someone 24 hrs later. Somehow they can get away with it, probably because they can't get enough drovers in the first place

            • @Jackson: Crazy but that's the norm. What is it with CouriersPlease? Their morale/workplace culture must be totally miserable. I bet they have years-old parcels lying around, they should be shut down.

              • +1

@Techie4066: Should mention I don't know if mine were couriers please or fastaway, I have had more issues with the LATTER. Annoyingly I only live 2 streets away from a pick up and drop off point, I don't know if that would alleviate the issue, they may no show there too.

      • Do they ring the bell and you pass the parcel or you leave somewhere safe?

The first time I tried to use them, they didn't pickup for 2 days. Customer service suggested to leave somewhere safe.. but i was very hesitant so canceled the thing altogether.

        • It depends on the pickup courier and the person who picks up. In my case it was always aramex an the guys always rang the bell to pick up the parcel. I had also left it out near the door once and they had picked it up. You can actually leave specific information on where to find you parcel when booking your pickup.

      • you can do the same with couriers please, under the barcode is a long cpa number which you can use to track on their website. Sendles tracking is delayed while couriers please are instant

        • Nice. Thanks.

  • +19

Sendle sounds great, until you use it.

    • +7

Totally agree. Got sucked into this deal and the tracking on two items, one to Perth from Canberra and one to QLD has been woeful. This won't end well with my ebay feedback.

  • +5

Rubbish service! Lost a package I sent which obviously triggered a charge back because they themselves didn’t know where on the planet it was!

    • Did they cover you for financial loss? or you were the buyer?

      • Not yet as they are still “investigating” if I hear anything soon I’ll get back to you.

  • +4

Sendle can be fast or slow depending upon postcode. Hit and miss service really. You can't talk to them till last day of the delivery date, which is slowest ever.

    • Snake isn't a delivery company, the courier they provide for your specific parcel will determine the speed.

Sendle simply checks a few courier prices, adds some profit for sendle and offers you the cheapest

  • Only main issue I've had with sendle is time it takes to go to Sydney to Perth - might've had something to do with the wall use of a 3rd party contractor but ymmv

    • Australia post is also woefully slow when shipping to Perth from my experience

      • +1

Based on my experience, sending anything from Sydney to WA or Tasmania takes a long time.

Edit: by "a long time", I mean a couple of weeks.

  • I have been using sendle no problem. The only time that they messed up it’s when I sent a tablet. It got totally smashed. I was refunded so ended up better as my eBay fees were refunded.
Now if I send tablets I pack them in hard boxes. Otherwise always great service.

    • Now if I send tablets I pack them in hard boxes

How did you send the first one?

      • It was in its original box and one of the bubble bags.

    • +1

      It got totally smashed.

And that is exactly why not to use them. CouriersPlease is the worst offender for throwing parcels.

  • +5

Their website says they have "Door to door tracking". Which was complete lies on a package I sent. They used Aramax for the pickup and then Aramax handed it over to another party for the final leg delivery which wasn't tracked. This can cause huge issues when selling on ebay as the buyer can claim the item never arrived. Ebay will then side with the buyer as the tracking would be incomplete.

They also deliberately don't list a customer service number as they would be inundated with their shoddy service.

  • -2

Im shocked that one no by now didn't expose ebay for all their scams and schemes, especially for bidding bots of their own. Higher sale price, higher fee, higher profit. Not gonna go into, at all, at all regarding GST collected for export/import fees that end up, ummm, yeah.

    • +2

I’m trying to make sense of your post. I’m sure there’s a message in there somewhere but you’ve hidden it well. :-/

      • -2

Yeah, it's called, nothing shady here until the sh hits the fan. Do what you do best, just buy 👍

Oh just saw now few typos, multitasking.

  • +9

I wouldn't bother with Sendle. Used them once and they never collected the parcel from my house, no reply via email in regard to the issue. I wouldn't use them, even if free.

  • +2

I’ve used Sendle dozens of times,
I think maybe 2-3 times was very late. On the other hand, I’ve had a couple of times where the package was collected and delivered the same day.
    Never lost an item.
Sometimes they do miss picking up the item but it automatically reschedules for the next day so not too bad.
Overall pretty decent in my experience.

    • This has been my experience as well so far, fingers crossed.

  • +6

I really wanted to like Sendle, but had the same experience as all of the above. Lost parcels sent to the wrong state, no show at pickups. Gave them chance after chance.
Sorry Sendle you deserve to disappear.

  • +5

    Sendle is the worst

  • +4

Actually Sendle is worse than the worst. Avoid.
(or maybe its just my part of Sydney).

  • +3

Bought from a seller who used sendle - 18 days from qld to nsw

  • What GPU you did you send? Anything more than something worth $100 you shouldn’t use Sendle! Use tnt, FedEx, StarTrack or a truck to truck sender.

    • 1650 Super. Buyer paid on the 11th, order picked up on the 12th and eBay says that it was delivered on the 13th. Melb-Syd. Ive used Sendle over 20 times and never had an issue. Maybe the odd extra day to pickup, but overall, no worries.

      • Same city generally ok with sendle.

  • +6

I've seen so many horror stories on Sendle but have used them about 30 times in the last 12 months and they've been amazing. 100% delivery on time rate for me, from Perth.
I was very cautious and hesitant but so glad I gave them a chance, have saved hundreds of dollars vs AusPost

  • +4

Sendle used to be a great alternative to Aus Post but the service from their agents (courier please or Aramax) has gone downhill substantially recently. Parcels not being collected on numerous occasions(the agent would mark it as "parcel not ready" when im home all day waiting for the pick-up driver to show up).
I completely abandoned them after their agent failed to turn up twice in a row on the last booking. Their fees are not that competitive anyway in recent days. Avoid them at all cost especially when they consign your parcel via Aramex, read the reviews online and you will know why!

    • +1

In my experience, the sometimes lower price of Sendle hides the real cost of using Sendle.

That, say, $5 "saved" (either as a merchant or consumer) on a consignment is quickly eroded with trips to depots, waiting on-hold multiple times for 30-40mins, completing claim forms etc.

I just don't understand why companies risk their reputation to use Sendle and their partners (eg CouriersPlease). It's been ten days (and counting) since I purchased a couple of boxes of wine from this deal and the latest update in the tracking app is, and I quote verbatim, "Der Versand kam in einem Hub oder Sortierzentrum an". 🤣

  • I sell a lot of stuff on eBay but I will only send via Sendle if receiver lives in a metro area. Also if you can drop off stuff near a drop-off point do that, as their pickup service is unreliable.

  • +2

I had fantastic experience with Sendle, some years ago.
I was getting 'Express Post next-day' level service from SYD - MEL even.

However, when things went bad, ie. slow or missing parcels,…
    …the items were really lost.
Something that should have been 3+ days, … took 3+ weeks.
Their tracking did not show the items were.

Worst of them, was sending an item 15 km inside Sydney itself,
between Eastwood and Artarmon, and the small 300-gram item took 10+ days to arrive.

    Overlooking these 3-4 poor situations,
I've had over 95% of great experiences with Sendle,
but I do admit, the more popular they got, the worst their service levels became.

  • -1

I think you guys are being a bit rough on Sendle - they don't deliver it, they're just an agent. Deliveries are fulfilled by either Couriers Please or Fastway/Aramex (which is clearly marked on the postage label you print…) so if something goes wrong, try to be a bit more understanding with Sendle.

I've had nothing but good experiences and I've been using them since 2015. I sold something on Ebay recently and the delivery was allocated to Couriers Please who seem to have great difficulty understanding what a shared driveway is and won't drive down it to deliver the parcel (instead leaving a card in the letter box). The receiver even contacted Couriers Please to provide detailed instructions (not that it's hard - it's a property where four houses share the driveway and each house has a mail box at the front of the driveway/street and down the driveway/street. Couriers Please attempted delivery 3 times with the failure being that they couldn't find the house and they then returned the package to me. I raised this with Sendle as I've essentially lost the postage fee and Sendle offered to rebook the delivery for free. Can't complain with that…

    • +4

      they're just an agent

They're responsible for choosing their contractors, are they not? And do you think they'd run their delivery business blindly without analytics?

Couriers Please attempted delivery 3 times

I really don't think you can be sure of that with CouriersPlease.

    • +2

I think you guys are being a bit rough on Sendle

I know that I am not.

  • -2

Sendle is the best. But always compare with Australia post just incase.

  • Claim your free 250g postage label!Claim your free 250g postage label!
Enjoy big cost savings & your first Sendle 250g delivery on us*.

    Hmm i got that

  • +2

I had sendle confirm compensation for a lost parcel so I refunded buyer immediately. Then within the time it took to process the refund they found the item and cancelled the refund. Buyer was dodgy enough to not assist and ebay wiped their hands of it.
Take away for me is never use sendle again. Aus Post all the way.
Am currently waiting for couriers please to deliver something I bought where seller took the bait and went the sendle option. Redelivery attempts have not been at time agreed so still waiting. If only they used Aus Pist.

  • +2

My experiences with Sendle aren't nearly as bad as some in this thread had it.

    Some recent examples from this:
    10/10 Package from Sydney>Melbourne - delivered in 2 days
25/9 Package from Sydney>Sydney - delivered next business day
    25/9 Package from Sydney>Melbourne - delivered in 2 days
14/9 Package from Sydney>Sydney - delivered next business day
7/9 Package from Sydney>Melbourne - delivered next business day
    2/9 Package from Sydney>Melbourne - delivered in 3 days.

I didn't have any damage on those parcels as I sent them double boxed (original packaging, then bubblewrap, then a larger box) but there were many examples were signature on delivery was required but the delivery driver just left it unattended.

    • +1

but there were many examples were signature on delivery was required but the delivery driver just left it unattended.

^This. When I complained to Sendle, they either gave me the canned response that they will pass on the feedback (but nothing ever improve) and/or tell me their couriers exercise their own “discretion” regardless of the delivery instruction… and I did lose a parcel that way. They marked it ATL delivered, but the receiver said they never got it. It was a 4 digit value item clearly instructed in capitals “SIGNATURE ON DELIVERY”!

  • +3

Extremely poor service. Have lost 2/3 deliveries sent via sendle.

  • +5

I see a mention of Sendle and shudder. The last consignment to me from these clowns was a dodgy carded delivery.

I was literally 3m from the front door, lying on the lounge, and heard the front cast iron gate squeak open and closed in quick succession.

I got up and opened the front door and there was a Sendle/CouriersPlease card tucked into the screen door. My parcel would apparently be available for pick up the next day AT A CONVENIENCE STORE THAT HAD BEEN CLOSED FOR ALMOST 18 MONTHS.

    FriendsDontLetFriendsUseSendle

    FriendsDontLetFriendsUseCouriersPlease

  • +5

Used sendle twice. Once for a delivery, which turned up, but took a week and a half. Once for a pickup, they attempted pickup 3 times apparently, then cancelled the job. I was home the whole time, never saw or heard from anyone. Then I got to chase them up to refund that pickup job.

  • -4

sendle is whatever, the alt is auspost which is much worse. So…..

    • +2

AusPost is not "much worse". They are the only one's looking after people in regional areas. Without AusPost, a quarter of Australia would be either without mail or pushed in the rear end in fees to get mail.

      • ^This, I agree with.

  • +2

When something goes wrong, and eventually it will if you keep using Sendle, you will experience first hand how "great" their customer service is.

  • +3

    DO NOT USE SENDLE.

Unless you want to wait a week for them to pick up the item, and have no phone number to call when they simply don’t turn up multiple times.

  • I wish they had a sister company called Receivele too because current you Sendle but the poor buyer never receivle.

  • +3

Sendle is the most BS company I have to deal with ever in my experience,
Not sure if it's just me,
I sent my parcel out of 1st Oct and now it's 17th Oct, still shows the parcel as Picked Up and I can't lodge an enquiry with them until tomorrow.
    SYD-MEL just saying,
I've had 3$ Auspost letter with tracking posted a week after SYD-PER and delivered already,
I don't even what to know what's going on just avoid,
Poor buyer and I had to assure them so many times because I actually posted the item and not a scam.
    F**K CouriersPlease, dogsh*t company.

    • FYI. There’s a Help link at the lower right corner where you can submit an enquiry.

  • +1

Buyer hadn't received package for a month. He lodged query with sendle, sendle said 'after a thorough investigation we have determined that your package is lost'. Buyer opened ebay refund claim, I refunded. I lodged claim with sendle, sendle did an investigation, found my parcel, forwarded it on to buyer and cancelled my claim!
I argued, now they have refunded my postage costs and are sending me the package (they lied and said I had already received it).

I doubt I will get my parcel and when this is realised, I highly doubt I will be successful in getting the rest of the refund I am owed.

    THE WORST.

  • I bought some greeting cards yesterday from a seller in Central Coast, NSW. Collected today by Sendle with CouriersPlease. Estimated delivery to Perth is 31 Oct. If I was a seller, I wouldn't risk using Sendle from the negative feedbacks.

  • Seemed to get charged $0 recently for printing a sendle label from eBay selling something recently, not bad (hopefully they don't charge you at the end of the month). Shouldn't be selling fees anyway with the recent promo.

  • Any eBay seller who thinks they are saving some shipping cost by using Sendle, think it twice! Just one parcel being lost by their agent is going to wipe out all of your savings! Let alone to deal with constant headaches of parcel not being collected, lengthy shipping time and no online chat or phone number to call when something goes wrong! All of the customers that I have dealt with hate Sendle. They had been reliable in the last but not any more!

  • Sent something on 18th, still not showing as delivered.
Dropped off to newsagency Via eBay/sendle. Hmm.
    Should have been by yesterday.

  • I booked for pick up today, stayed at home whole day and no one showed up.

    • Australia Post are lazy half the time too, just put the slip in the mailbox instead of ringing the doorbell. Annoying af especially if you are staying home, and have to pick it up the next day

  • Can someone help with this? I just sold a small item on eBay and looking for an alternative to AusPost. I am an eBay Plus Member.

Do I need to supply my own box to use the Sendle service or does the driver provide one?
How do I know if the box / envelope I have is the right size?
Do I have to print the label from the Sendle website?

    • +1

      Just register for sendle, free
Inside you have tab to link your ebay. Do it.
There you will see your sold item.
      Click send.
Tell them the size or you can pick some common ones.
      Fill in all details
      They give you label, print.
Yes pack yourself ie box etc
      Stick the label.
      Wait for pickup
