For those who care, this is a Serie 6 machine and made in China apparently. It has pretty solid ratings/reviews though

Thank you. I was thinking about buying it. Changed my mind.

  • I uses to work a retailer that sold Bosch machines. The rep swore the exact same machine that makes the motor in Germany is also sitting in their China factory…as for the other parts…?

    • -1

That may well be the case, and they both get a 2 year manufacturer warranty, but you also get a 10 year warranty on the German motor.

      • +1

10 year warranty on motor is irrespective of where it is made.

        • I stand corrected then. It used to be the case that Serie 8 (made in Germany) had the 10 year motor warranty, Serie 4 & 6 (not made in Germany) did not.

2 Years manufacturer's warranty. 10 years parts warranty on EcoSilence Drive™ Motor.

SNSOCT brings it down to $798

  • Half priced compared to the ones the at made in Germany…. Do they really worth that much difference I wonder

  • Its a bit odd. The Bottom range is made in Poland, Middle in China, Upper mid and top in Germany. And looking at stock levels they are looking to clear this model by the looks.

  • Thanks OP. Our 16 year old Siemens 14.44 (err Bosch) didn’t survive a water pump change today, was getting F18 errors each load and the "cure" - wasn't. 4 boys, 1-2 washes per day, so it did somewhere around 8,000 washes.

Negotiated $903 at Winning Appliances, arriving Monday and they take the old one away.

n=1 for made in Germany longevity…

  • Thanks for the find OP.

  • My local TGG was able to match the couponed eBay price, and provide next-day delivery with removal of the old machine etc. (The eBay store was suggesting delivery between 9-16 November with basic drop-off only.)

TGG sale price ends tomorrow (Wednesday), might be something as good/better for Black Friday coming up, but I needed a machine now!

PS: I called Appliances Online to see if they'd price match TGG, and they declined. Best they could do was something in the 9s. Let's see what Black Friday yields.

    • did you have to go into the store for the price match or were you able to do it online/over the phone?

      • I went into the store, I wanted to see the machine first. I mentioned the eBay deal to the salesman not expecting any luck, he seemed pretty senior and was able to do it without any fuss.

        • Thanks for the info. Don't think I'll be able to go into a store until Thursday so might have to hope for a Black Friday deal, or just order on eBay.

          • @kdsauer: The eBay deal is a good one, especially if you can pay with some discounted GCs or get cashback, it just wasn't right for me this time. I know I could have saved a few bucks going the eBay route.
