  • Only camo ones left now, at a higher price. Bugger. Missed it by moments.

  • +1

    Price jacked smh

    • My bad, I think the two camos were always $10 more.
So there was actually 14 controllers across 4 different colours at $19.50

  • +1

Showing as $29.90 for me after coupon and only (ugly) camo options left in stock.

  • -2

    Jack lives here

  • Is $30 for the camo still a decent deal?

    • +1

It seems people thought so, it's gone now too

      • Yeah i grabbed one. Hoping it works with my PC and/or TV-steam.

        • +1

It's still decent for $30 imo. Not a big fan of the colour but it's a genuine Sony, you probably would have a hard time finding a used one for that price

          • +3

@FireRunner: I've been waiting for a good controller deal for a long time. They seems so over priced considering what they are. Worth the $30 to find out.
            Thanks for the link.

            • @Geebs: Hey mate, it looks highly likely the controller is fake. You can take the risk or maybe just ask to cancel now and avoid the need to return

              • +1

                @FireRunner: Ahh damn.
It says i have to contact them to cancel the order. If that doesn't work ill use paypal or my bank i suppose.
                Thanks for the message.

edit They cancelled with no worries.

        • +2

Yeah, they do. Been looking to pick up another and missed this by minutes.

Steam has native support, works with anything else I've tried via bluetooth without issue (TV, projector etc) and you can download DS4Windows for everything else on PC (Mapping, customising the lights etc.)

  • +3

    White Camouflage doesn't exist.

All the rest are probably fake too.

    • Urban Camouflage exists, probably just misnamed?

    • +2

White camo does exist but should have black nubs/backside, not light grey, so I'm going with fake also.

      https://www.amazon.com/DualShock-Wireless-Controller-PlaySta…

      • +1

Might just be just the lighting?
I bought a black one. I'll let everyone know if its a fake.
The seller has sold 307 and got 30 positive feedback from them
Seems unlikely that so many would get through without someone recognising a fake

        • +2

Lighting might account for why the colour of the greys in the camo seem off but the backsides are straight up black vs light grey, almost white.

      • +4

What I mean is that the name (White Camouflage) printed on the packaging in that eBay listing is a variation that doesn't exist.

        https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/mOYAAOSwi61ilLXT/s-l1600.jpg

Surely Sony wouldn't make such a mistake?

The one from that Amazon link is called Urban Camouflage if it's V1. Grey Camouflage if it's V2.

        • +1

I don't believe there was ever a White Camouflage. I smell a fake controller. It's probably all counterfeit controllers from this seller. There were a lot of counterfeit Dualshock 4 controllers which looked genuine from unknown sellers on Ebay.

  • +16

These guy are known for selling fake controllers btw https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/706746

    • +2

Yikes. How do they have 100% positive feedback?

    • Thanks, after reading the horror stories from that thread I’ve asked them to cancel and they accepted and got a refund immediately

  • anyone got any leads on best places to get a reasonably priced new or used that are 100% original?

  • Yep. These will all be counterfeit Dualshock 4 controllers which look genuine until you try it. You peoples just all wasted your money.

One great giveaway too of a counterfeit Dualshock 4 Controller is if it comes with a USB cable. Genuine comes with no cable. And some times there will be errors on the packaging.

    • Yeah. I thought it was just a lucky score with the coupon applying to the item. I’m thinking just let it arrive, confirm it’s fake then return and then I’ll leave negative feedback

Edit: bailed after reading comments from their Switch controller deal, they accepted my cancellation request.

    • Also:

They will likely have protective plastic on the touchpad, genuine doesn't come with it. It will feel a lot lighter, and buttons won't press as smoothly.

Best way to check is to open it up and see the battery. If it's generic and less than 800mAH, it's a fake.

  • Fake fake fake. They are all fake. I work in the gaming Industry fwiw.

  • This seller was selling White Camouflage. There is no such colour which Sony made of the genuine Dualshock 4 which I know of. This smells badly of fake and more fake.

  • moist

  • this is 100% FAKE!! arabic writting is a giveaway, bought one like this before.

Here's proof that the White Camouflage is a fake controller.

This web site has a list of every official genuine Dualshock 4 controller ever made by Sony. And there is no White Camouflage on the list. It's totally fake. When it comes to the Camo colours there's only Green Camouflage, Red Camouflage and Blue Camouflage. Nothing else on the Camo colours.

    https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2020/08/guide_all_ps4_contro…

Again no White Camouflage listed on this site. Only Green, Red and Blue Camo. Simply because a White Camo never existed. It's a colour which some counterfeiter decided to design to peddle off as genuine.

    https://www.androidcentral.com/every-color-ps4-controller-yo…

The only white colour PS4 controllers ever released was the Glacier White and the Destiny 2 Limited Edition.

That means also every single other colour which this seller was selling is all 100% fake because it's all the same packaging writing and every thing. Fake controllers every one. I don't think genuine PS4 controllers sold in Australia have Arabic writing on the packaging too.

So peoples who purchased this. It's sad news to hear but these will be completely fake there's no question about it. The lesson to learn is be weary of ridiculously cheap Dualshock 4 controllers off ebay even if it looks real at first.

How this seller got a 100% feedback rating when flogging off a counterfeit Dualshock 4 controller.

    • They’re priced at $70 to $80. I thought it was genuine going off that price and it was by some luck the eBay $50 off coupon applied.
Glad the ozbargain detectives were able to spot the fake. At least two of us were able to get our orders canceled
And yeah, the 100% feedback threw me off. They must be able to get eBay to remove any negative feedback. It would be impossible to have sold hundreds of fake controllers and not a single negative feedback

      • A seller trying to flog off fake Dualshock 4 controllers at near retail price to try make it look genuine. That's a good one.

    • Just for the record white camouflage (urban camouflage officially) did exist but doesn't appear on that pushsquare list. Thought I was going crazy because it was one of my first controllers but here's proof from PS that it did exist - https://twitter.com/playstation/status/506123659837464576

Then wouldn't it say Urban Camouflage on the product box, and not White Camouflage. It's still totally fake. Sony never manufactured a product called Dualshock 4 White Camouflage. Sony would never made the mistake of accidentally calling the Urban Camouflage as White Camouflage on the product box. Only a counterfeit maker would do that.

Also every inducation that i can see is that the Urban Camouflage was a Dualshock 4 v1 controller with the v1 product box (both blue on top and bottom) as seen in this pic. http://assets.vg247.com/current//2014/06/DualShock_4_urban_c…

Urban Camouflage for what i see was released in 2014 as a v1 controller. It must have been an extremely limited run because none of the sites i saw even listed Urban Camo.

However this seller has that White Camouflage (which product name never seems to have existed) has it as a version 2 controller box with the white on top and blue at the bottom. That never existed for the Urban Camo being only a version 1 controller from 2014.

Oh and also genuine Dualshock 4 version 2 product boxes don't have an upside down recyclable logo molded onto the product plastic. If it does like shown on the pictures from this seller it's not a genuine PS4 controller. The counterfeiter which made these counterfeit controllers sourced some molded plastic from some third party company. You see you can clearly see this pic of the official Dualshock 4 version 2 product box there's no recyclable logo on the front plastic. It's the second picture on this web page. https://www.mightyape.com.au/product/playstation-4-dual-shoc…

That's my bit of detective work. There was no White Camouflage ever existed and the Urban Camouflage came in a version 1 controller box. Not a version 2 box. There's no molded recyclable logo on the product plastic on the front of the product packaging with either the (real genuine) version 1 or version 2 controller product boxes. Sony never made sloppy Dualshock 4 product packaging. So for what i've researched all these controllers from this deal were all totally fake.

Sorry peoples, in my opinion you were scammed with counterfeit controllers if you purchased this. Let's hope the seller refunds every body.

        • +1

Oh no I’m totally in agreement that it’s fake just being a stickler haha

  • Didnt want to take a risk so I requested a cancellation yesterday, they accepted and refunded me immediately.

    • They possibly know that it's counterfeit so they don't want the attention by knowledgeable people reporting it to ebay. Much easier just to immediately refund and wait for unknowledgeable people to buy it. The knowledgeable people can easily recognise a counterfeit PS4 controller from ebay listings. The seller possibly also knows about this deal thread too.

  • Just received a unprompted refund on my purchase of the urban Camo controller, not sure if it was they were out of stock , or went oh crap to many sales we will get some much negative feed back

  • Purchased a Wave Blue. Received a refund from the seller last night along with a message about a technical issue with stock levels not reflecting the actual stock levels.

Maybe I dodged a bullet here.

    • Yeah. You didn't end up receiving a counterfeit controller which is always a good thing. And you did end up trying to get one of the most rarest and expensive PS4 controllers a Wave Blue. But of course this one had no chance at all of being genuine. It's so extremely rare world wide. And all the sudden some unknown seller tries to sell a bunch of them supposedly genuine via ebay?. Every single one of them is a counterfeit.

On another note. Genuine Wave Blue PS4 controllers are just about impossible to find new or even ex demo in Australia. So it's no surprise that this isn't genuine. I even had troubles trying to source a new PS4 Wave Blue controller last year and at the end i couldn't find. It is quite rare and expensive and it has been for a long time. A few sellers from overseas on ebay are selling new Wave Blue for a few hundred bucks each. But you know these ones are actually genuine. Ultra rare and expensive controller. For example and this is from Japan and only one unit available. You need a deep pocket to afford to buy. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/265717239840?epid=12012048035&ha…

Also the Urban Camouflage (that so called White Camouflage on that counterfeit box) is another extremely rare and expensive PS4 controller if it's genuine. It's so rare that i had not even heard of that controller until i was told about it through this deal thread.

When it comes to PS4 controllers you need to be careful as there's so many counterfeits out there. Ebay is full of counterfeit PS4 controllers. When you suddenly see an extremely rare PS4 controller suddenly come up for sale with a bunch of them available it's a blatant counterfeit.

      • Thank you. I did not know that Wave Blue was rare and coveted.
