Not the brushless one I presume

The first thing you need to do with an Ozito saw is buy a decent blade.

That goes with any circular saw around $100

  • Is this available at other bunnings?

    • Prices seem to be varying; manager's special?

I've got the 165mm and even with a 4ah battery its pretty terrible. Thats advertised to be able to do 54mm depth but after a few cm it shuts down.

Depends on what wood and how fast you try and cut. I have the same 165mm with 4Ah and cut a 50mm thick treated pine sleeper lengthways just fine. Also trimmed the overhang off the dining room table which was about 40mm thick x 6m total cut length.

Cutting a 18mm merbau decking board length ways was slightly annoying. Push too fast and it stopped, still was easier than bringing out the corded circular saw.

    • Change the blade. I use one of these and it makes a world of difference. I was cross cutting a variety of pine and also hardwood boards + hardwood sleepers and the blade that came with it was horrible.
After changing to the super thin diablo blade, never had an issue at all.

Gutless piece of sheet. I saw this and kept walking given my terrible experience with it - like ZuluOz said

  • I have the ryobi brushless one plus hp.
Wasn't exactly cheap but its acceptable. Anything less probably would be useless

  • Avoid ozito. I have to say it is just a slice better than rubbish.

  • Yep i agree rubbish trying to cut 50mm treated pine sleepers.

call me crazy but give me a corded circular saw, for the casual DIY'er.

This is terrible guys. In every aspect

Kept getting stuck on 35mm pine blocks and sometimes the blade kept biting into the cover and stopping

$100 Makita runs through super thick blocks like butter

      You mean this?

      • $146 for that one.

That’s why I’m asking, I can’t see any for $100, would love to know!
