[QLD] Ozito PXC 2x4.0Ah 18V Batteries with 2x Fast Chargers $99.98 @ Bunnings, Maroochydore

720

Saw this deal today at Bunnings Maroochydore, not sure if it's Australia wide or not? Picked up a pack because I missed the arguably better deal recently (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/725853) with the dual charger. This has 2x individual compact fast chargers instead. Still a bloody good deal I think.

NOTE: This is not the same deal posted recently and linked above with the dual charger. This has 2 individual fast chargers rather than the dual charger.

Stock check here (thanks to @whitelie): https://nrby.in/bunnings/0290057

Nice one, I grabbed this last time it came out. Might grab another just for the batteries as one charger seems to be enough.

Stock checker says there's heaps around

    • Is the checker correct? I run through the site, which says it’s oos.

      • +1

It shows up in Powerpass at my local as being in store but the Bunnings website can't find it. They may have only just come in, I didn't see any at my local yesterday

        • +2

Cheers mate. I just went to my local Bunnings and they have them in stock. The stock checker is pretty accurate!

      • +1

Can you please share the website link or product id for this promotion?
I couldn't find it on their website.

Now you just need a Ozito outboard motor to get you home on the not-so-SunnyCoast

We haven't had a summer in 2 years. It's ridiculous. I've got mates who've lived here for 20+ years and they've never seen anything like it :(

Possibly matching the Aldi battery sale next weekend:

    • 8ah battery with 21700 cells and 1 year warranty, great deal!

  • FYI, saw the same deal at Munno Para Bunnings, SA, yesterday. Seemed to be a big supply at hand.

    • +2

That's the other pack (the deal is linked in the OP).
This one has two separate chargers

      • Oh, right you are, my bad!

      • +1

Would the only benefit of this deal over the one online be having a more compact charger/having a charger set up in two places instead of one?

        • +2

I've never needed to charge more than one battery at a time. I think the dual charger is better but there's no stock left of that kit.
I got this deal about 6 months or so ago. Still have one charger in the box as I haven't needed it

    • Thanks for the link, but unfortunately it looks like out of stock for all stores around Melbourne.

      • +1

You're probably referring to the deal I linked to with the dual charger. This is a brand new promotion as far as I can tell so it should roll out to other stores and other comments have eluded to this. There was a huge stack at Maroochydore (maybe 50+ boxes).

        • Yes, you are right, misleaded by Ori0n's link, and your one is in stock, and l lot stock.

    • +1

I couldn't find this particular deal on the website so I just uploaded a photo of the items.

  • Same price at Box Hill and Nunawading.

  • when removing the batteries, are pliers sufficient to remove 18650s or do you need to desolder/unweld stuff?

    • +3

The tabs are spot welded to the battery ends with tiny spots.
I use a screwdriver as I don't have the fancy gear to unweld them.
There is minimal damage to the battery terminals with my technique, but the tabs need to be straightened out if you are replacing the batteries.
If you are just extracting the batteries, then it's too bad.

    • +2

You probably don't want to use pliers. Too easy to short the cells. Better to use one of these type of tools

    • +1

I've heard people talk about this before, and I have to admit I'm clueless. Why would someone want to remove the cells from a battery like this? What's the typical use case?

      • Cheap, decent quality 18650 batteries

        • Right, sorry, I mean, what is the use for 18650 batteries? A quick google tells me that they kind of look like AAs but are actually bigger, so it's not like you could pop them in your existing devices. What do you use them for?

  • Hmm can't add for click n collect?

    • I don't think it's even on the website yet?

  • I have about 20 PXC batteries, half of them still unopened, coz I can't help myself when I see them this cheap.

    Just wondering…should I buy some more….?

LOL, I'd put that money you'd spend on this battery pack towards some counselling instead.

Is it compatible with tools of any other brands?

    • Can likely get 3D printed adapters to use them in other tools

    • +2

I have an adapter that lets the Ozito work with my Milwaukee gear. Ozito batteries are much cheaper than Milwaukee and I have skins from both brands.

      • +1

Where did you get that adapter?

        • Look on ebay, or if you have a 3d printer you might be able to find designs to print out and make your own adapters!

  • Powerpass app will show the stores that have these in stock. Most stores around Brisbane appear to have them in stock

  • Can confirm, picked up two in FNQ.

    • Which store? I’m in Cairns.

  • +2

does Ryobi ever go on sale

  • +1

Has anyone tried these with a 3d printed adapter on ryobi tools?
So much cheaper than the og models. it seems like they should work

    • +5

I purchased two from this guy:

      https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/brisbane-city/power-tools/oz…

Both melted within the first few hours of use. Can't comment on other sellers, but stay away from this guy's version

      • +2

Happy with my Ozito to Milwaukee from these guys:

        https://www.yourtoolbox.com.au/collections/adaptors

      • That doesn't sound great, I'm guessing they used too low wire in it if the adapter got hot enough to melt.
I'd print my own adaptor anyway. There seems to be a couple of models on Thingiverse.

        • I’ve done a bit of research and bought some 16awk 200°C silicone coated wire to make a 3d printed power pack for a 24v soldering iron. The best thing I discovered is you don’t need an anti over discharge board to protect the battery as they have one built in.

    • +2

I use my Bosch batteries with an adapter for Ryobi skins, no issues. Been meaning to get one for the Ozito batteries

    • I picked up a set this morning, and have an adapter printed.
Now I just need a chance to wire up / assemble the adapter, and get some time to try them out.

  • Nice deal. I'd argue that this one might be a more "secure" deal since with the duel charger if the charger stuffs up then you're dead in the water. If one of the single chargers stuffs up you have a backup. And is there a difference between this fast charger and the one that sells for 39.98 (I/N: 6290482)

    • +2

I've got that charger. The ones in this kit are smaller, more compact. I'll take a photo of them side by side.

Edit: Here's a photo of them side by side: https://imgur.com/a/TRkdo3h

      • Thanks for that - bit weird that they have two models for the same thing. They both charge a 4ah battery at the same speed according to the Ozito website. Maybe one is smarter. ??

  • +1

    SINGLE CHARGES:

I kept getting single fast chargers in kits, had half dozen unopened - ended up mounting 4 to a single, cut to size, board and had the wires combined (sparky) into a single plug.

[i use oztio batteries at work..i have heaps of them]

  • +1

Blah. And Dewalt / Bosch / etc are $160+ for a single 5Ah or so.

  • jeez, everytime i don't need more batteries, bunning's keeps coming out with these great deals. sigh. in for 1 again

  • +2

Waiting for some decent Ozito skin deals!

  • wasn't advertised/ticket, but was on front shelf of Ozito area, full shelf (Craigieburn, VIC)

  • they had heaps of boxes of these at Manly West branch

  • Lots at Cannon Hill this am

  • Does anyone have the product ID on their receipts? If so, please upload. Struggling to find it in store at Rydalmere and Carlingford stores

    • I have PXBC-6080 on the box if that helps.

  • Pickup one at Malaga WA. Appear to be standard price on the shelf.

  • Still available at $99. Purchased from Bankstown on Saturday.

They were in the tool section, beside the $129 twin 4Ah kits (with a single charger)
