"AERO ITX cards will fit into virtually any case."
"Virtually" so I can go order any AERO ITX and it"ll virtually be out there for me?

  • Will this work with an Optiplex 7060 SFF?

    • +4

If you put it in sideways maybe. If you mean will a full height card fit into a low profile case, no.

  • I have a Asus Geforce GTX1070 ti currently installed on my PC. Is it worth the upgrade ?

    • +3

Unless you really want low FPS RT, this is not an upgrade.

    • Nope. The 1070 ti even destroys the 3050 ti (a laptop gpu). Not only is it wasting money but u will get worse performance than u already have

      • Why would you compare a laptop and desktop GPU?

The 3050 and 1070 Ti have roughly the same performance, although the 3050 has DLSS, etc…

        • Because the 3050 ti even though a laptop gpu is more powerful than the 3050 desktop version, it gets higher frame rates, has more cuda, tensor and ray tracing cores.

          • @LuslecGrace: Desktop GPUs always outperform laptop variants, due to more VRAM and higher power limits, even if the desktop variant was slightly cutdown. To claim otherwise without looking at benchmarks is just bizarre.

has more cuda, tensor and ray tracing cores

This is just straight up wrong, they have the same. 2560, 80 and 20 respectively. The 3050 deskptop has 48 ROPs and 8gb of VRAM but the 3050 Ti laptop only has 32 ROPs and 4gb of VRAM.

            it gets higher frame rates

Also wrong. The 3050 ti laptop is 9% faster than the 3050 laptop, the 3050 desktop is 23% faster than the 3050 laptop. That's only at 1080p, the 3050 desktop would pull even further ahead at 1440p due to having 8gb of VRAM.

@iseeyou1312: I did look at a lot of benchmarks and spec comparision. I either was looking at the wrong one or the sites weren't reliable. Apologies

              • @LuslecGrace: It's possible you were looking at the 3050 laptop, which seems the most likely scenario. You can always check out the VRAM to easily tell them apart.

    • Only if you're interested in roughly the same performance plus DLSS.

      • +1

        awesome, thats a helpful graph

  • +3

Awh look at it.. it’s cute!

  • Or you can get an RX 6600 for 329.

    • Its not about the price but the form factor. This is ITX, the 6600 is matx and atx (if ur not somehow referring to a 6600 that is ITX and i have never seen it)

      • +2

There's this one for nearly the same price. Both "deals" are bad imo.

        • +1

Damn! I searched for it for some time just for fun but for some reason all i found was the XT version haha. Thanks for that mate (excuse my ignorance)

        • +1

I'm not seeing a cheaper 3050 available (or in ozb history).

Anyway, I post this one so that when you get system builds with a 3050 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/730552), the lowest recent prices can be compared not the $400 the seller links as cheapest.

          • +1

@iamherenow: Agree haven't seen them down this low in a while, cheapest ever for a 3050 was $320 for the asus phoenix from bpctech (26/06/2022)

rx6600 blows this out of the water and cheaper. Also I hate this form factor. Most good ITX cases can support full size graphics card if they can fit a tall boy like this anyway.

  • If you're after really small, why not just run a iGPU 5600G or 5700G
