No buy 2 discount, but seems lowest price according to camel. https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B07X4HRP3X

I actually prefer this set with extra size 15 socket and less philips bits but more ball end allen bits. An extra bit/wrench holder and comes with a storage bag.

Hope this helps you guys. Enjoy!

  • is it 38 or 39 pieces, very confusing title

    • +3

copied from amazon page, you are welcomed to count

      • +1

IDK why you got the neg votes. Your response is succinct but not rude. Some people are getting a little too twitchy on the cancel trigger…

        • +1

          fixed it don't worry.

    • +2

The 39th is either the bag, the little tool holder or the tyre levers.

      • +1

The tyre levers, I just counted.

  • +1

    nice set

  • +3

It is a "cycling" set, but most bits are useless for a bicycle mechanic and many necessary ones are missing.

    • +3

In the words of a famous xenophobe: please explain?

      • +9

It's just a generic ratchet set.

It lacks any bike-specific tools such as chain whip, casette lock nut tool, spoke tool, BB tool, pedal wrench, etc.

The ratchet also has no torque feature, which is required for any carbon parts.

        • Oh, I am not even talking about that… But yes you are right as well.

      • +2

We are talking about modern bike right?
        1. You hardly ever need flat bits and yet there are some there (one?) there is always a flat one around the house nanyway - useless.
        2. You hardly need philips heads but there are 11 (!) there - useless.
        3. You don't need socket heads but there are 7 there - uselss.
        4. What you do need is allen keys - there are some, but no small or big ones. (Nothing less than 3 and nothing bigger than 8 mm).
        5. You need torx - there are 11 there, which is a good number, no small ones however, no t27.

        • +1

11?! philips? I count 4, you sure you looking at the right set?

          • -2

@Fatboy43C: Yes, 6 silver 5 gold. No way to attach screenshots here.

            • +1

@Musiclover: mate click the picture on the right and count. you are talking about the other set which is not working https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/731740

you probably didn't read this post lol.

              • -1

@Fatboy43C: Yes, I click your link and count. Bottom right 6 silver and 3 gold philips bits. Second from the bottom - 2 gold ones on the right.

Also, clarification to my post above - they do not include smaller that 3mm and bigger than 8mm allens and you need those.

                • @Musiclover: you win i'm done….

                • @Musiclover: try again with this set says bicycle on it https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07X4HRP3X

and start again from the beginning of the post

                  • -2

@Fatboy43C: OK, now you fixed the link, thanks. Ok, this one has 4 useless philips bits and 5 rounded allen keys which round the bolt heads. My comments about lack of sizing for torx and allen is still relevant , and still useless sockets present.

                    • +1

@Musiclover: It's okay, you are absolutely right. Only trying to help.

                      • @Fatboy43C: Same here, only trying to help. This might look like a nice set to me 10 years ago, but now since I have cycling mechanics experience I just see how useless it is.

                        • @Musiclover: i agree. maybe for average joe like me, mum and dad and kids, you still think this is not good set? now you making me worry, maybe i need to cancel the order LOL

                          • @Fatboy43C: It depends on what you need. Theoretically, Wera should have good steel and tolereances which would allow the bits to last longer and damage bolts less. On the other hand, you will often experience the problem of not having the bits that you need and paying for the bits that you do not need. It depends on what you already have at home as well.
I would either get a cycling tool set from a manufacturer who knows bicycles, or get just the torx and allen set from Wera… Another good way to approach this is to have a look at your bicycle and all its bolts, and try to find the set that works with all of them.

I prefer to have the bits rather than the keys, because this way I can use them in torque wrenches with adaptors.

        • what is torx for on bicycles? not aware

        • You are looking at the wrong set. This set DOES have a T27 torx bit. It also has small hex bits - 2 mm and 2.5 mm. I have this set for working on bikes, and I've found it useful.

  • this is a set that can be used for most cycle stuff not a set designed to cover cyle stuff

  • Amazon is still gltiched, cannot pruchase anything wera or knipex.

  • So odd. I want my 12% discount 😂. Amazon is playing us.

    • i know right, but i think the extra $20 with this set, the extra ball head allens hex plus (i am assuming) , tool bag, probably worth it.

    • This set had the 12% discount back in August. I bought it for $103 back then.

      • you like this set?

        • Yes, it's obviously not a complete tool kit for working on bicycles. I already had bike-specific tools (pedal wrench, bottom bracket tools, chain whip, crank remover tool, etc.). This was to supplement them and replace some crappy hex keys I was using previously. I'm impressed with the quality and prefer using them to the hex keys I already had.

This has a few bits and sockets that the Tool-Check PLUS doesn't have, which are useful for working on bikes: 2 mm and 2.5 mm hex bits, T27 torx bit (for disc brakes), and 15 mm socket.

  • Good deal, I went with the 39-price kit and the separate 10-piece bike kit. With the 12% discount, it comes to $118.41 and you don't have to separate up bits and ratchets and get an extra extension bit too.

    • i wish i can do that but the glitch is not fixed yet? how did you put the order through? i tried all day yesterday with the $88 set, no luck

      • Strange, I just put both in a basket and proceeded to the checkout and the discount applied.

        • discount works before final check out, but once check out no confirmation emails nor show up in orders. been glitched since early morning yesterday. you must be lucky before the glitch

  • I just want to purchase a Wera metric Hex plus set 😭

    • yeh i missed out on the long set bought the $26 short set

I’ve commented here but I’ll repost here since I think it may be helpful:

(Comparison between this and the Tool Check set)

Having ordered both, I can shed some light:
    - Very similar kits, with the exceptions of the extra case, tyre levers and some different bits: the kit with the case has hex bits while the other one doesn’t (check out the part list to compare them). Edit: and a different socket as well. Also ignore the pictured gold bits that I saw mentioned earlier, mine didn’t come with any gold bits, I wasn’t too fussed.
    - The soft case is very nice/handy and you get the extra plastic holder, both of which are reasons enough to pay a bit extra for since you can’t get them by themselves cheaply.
    - This is important: with the Bicycle set (kit with the case), DO NOT order from Amazon AU if you want the tyre levers, order from Amazon UK seller instead (in this instance you’d get it from Amazon UK anyway since it’s cheaper). The AU kit does not come with tyre levers despite the image showing it. The 3 kits I got from AU does not come with tyre levers (1 initial order + 2 replacements after I contacted CS). Reps chalked it up to listing error but they still haven’t changed the listing. I ended up getting it from UK and got the correct set first time. The tyre levers are ~$30 by themselves.
    - Minor difference: the hard plastic case (the actual thing that flips open): AU version has the button release while UK one doesn’t. Initially the AU version seems nicer but I ended up keeping the UK since the AU mechanism seems like it will fail easier later down the track, you also get more space between the bits and sockets thanks to the absence of the release button.

    • thank you for this, im keeping this UK bicycle set

      • I think the more expensive link above is ratcheting so probably worth it.

        • +1

yeh i saw that one, haven't tested, price is the fair, considering rachet driver itself is like $35? taking out the non-ratchet and replace with ratchet one

  • It's not a torque wrench in the set right?

  • About orders not coming through — spoke to Amazon support yesterday, was told "We are aware, the issue is escalated, the order you've put should be fine, you will
    receive confirmation later".
    Hope so…

    • If true, some of us have ordered way too many sets of tools then.

      • Absolutely, I ordered about four times now expecting it might go through

      • I hope this isn’t true. Not sure I want to receive 7 sets of ratchet spanners…

  • +1

I've been on Amazon Support. They are checking the order status and we error-checked it for a bit, they are due to ring me back with an update.

Warning!!! Woke up this morning with thousands of $$ of Wera purchase from amazon. All multiples that failed to go through at time of purchase. Managed to cancell all.

  • They never got back to me regarding my support request but they did cancel all my order this morning 😢

    • They seem to have honoured it! I had to cancel a second one but all good!

  • Did anyone get this kit?

I'm thinking this one over the Tool Check Plus that's been ghosted recently too.

Either that or this kit, particularly for a compact motorcycle tool kit.
