I just noticed a 39$ (26%) ShopBack cashback notification on the app after purchasing the already reduced Vodafone $250 Vodafone prepaid plan, which is currently for 150$.
seems to be an excellent deal for a 12-month prepaid plan, bringing the cost to 111$ if cashback is approved

150GB total data
365-day expiry.
5G access is available
$5 off with every Automatic Recharge
Unlimited standard national calls and text
Standard international texts
50 Free international texts.

For those who need international calls like me, they have an add-on for 5$

previously while on Vodafone, received SMS free of cost while on international roaming (can confirm Singapore, NZ, Srilanka, India), was useful for the OTP.

  • As per Shopback DON'Ts

Prepaid 365 Plus plan, prepaid SIMs with multiple pre-loaded recharges, or any other plan not listed in the schedule on this page.

The Vodafone $250 Prepaid Plus Starter Pack isn't eligible for cashback.

    • yea @RichardL, i thought so too, I was surprised to see the app tracked the purchase!!

      • +3

It might track, but might not be confirmed/approved.

        Maybe @gotyourback can confirm?

      • +4

Read the t&c, the tracked purchase means nothing. They won't pay you, it will get rejected eventually

  • Can I activate it after 6 months?

    • can be activated anytime with-in 6 months.

  • I bought one of these nearly a year ago, can you just add this back on or do you need to port out and back in again?

    • +1

No rewards for loyalty ;) you got yo port out and in .. I know it's stupid these companies make us do it.!!

      • Are u sure? I thought you could just use this as recharge too as the Vodafone rep once told me.

  • Goes on special for $125 at Woolies often enough for an easy buy

  • To receive sms whilst overseas, do we need to add $5/day for international roaming ?

    • nope its free

  • +1

Hey mates @knkinfy @RichardL that is the case that sometimes purchases can track but then later be rejected if they aren't in line with the store's T's and C's, but I'm checking in with Vodafone on this one to see if I can get some clarity so I can be 100% sure. I'd hold off in the meantime if you're banking on the Cashback, as I'm not 100% sure this one's valid under their terms.

    • Hey all, att @knkinfo, they've come back to me to let me know that yeah this plan isn't considered valid with Voda so is likely to be invalidated, even after tracking :( Sorry to disappoint!

      • Damn.. Thanks for letting know mate.. now i atleast know how it works..

  • I have the same issue.

It is disgusting and unethical that Vodafone and Shopback rejected the cashback transaction 4+ month after. I am still with Vodafone and never cancelled the product since my purchase. I used Shopback app to make the purchase in order to make sure there is no issue with the webpage. The reasons listed in the app are all false.

If anyone has the same issue, I recommend that should all lodge a complaint with ACCC for this kind of misleading behaviour. I would not have joined Vodafone if there weren't any Shopback deal.

Here is the link to report to ACCC.

The more Ozbargainers make a formal complain, the more likely Vodafone and Shopback will honour their promises and won't play us up again.
