Ooo - this actually worked with my Westpac card!

    • Its actually one of the rewards offer in the app.

      • Ahhh - I never check there! Thanks!

  • +1

Was 12 months the last time. I find the selection on deliveroo is much smaller than say uber eats.

    • +4

      Yeah but generally cheaper

    • It is a Mastercard program and the length of the free Deliveroo depends on your card type. Platinum and World cards are eligible for 12 mo. Regular plebs just get 6 mo.

    • Yea, I agree with comment; more restaurant coverage on uber eats on my area (north-inner suburb Melbourne)

  • oh damn, i have a visa combank card. how do i change it over?

    • Same - was told to go into branch & apply.
Had retained the Visa card when they changed to MC, as Japan at that time had problems with Mastercard.

  • +1

Also received it for my Commbank Smart Access account.

  • +1

    Got it. Cheers

Just a tip - I already had a free 6 months on my account (from the last offer), which expired in March - however, I took the code from the URL in the email, applied it as a voucher/coupon - and it's extended my Plus 6 months from today!

    • +1

I just tried this from your comment, it didn't extend my deliveroo plus, just replaced.

I had previous 6 months til March 2023. I added the code, now it goes til 1st May 2023.

If it extended it would have gone til Sept 2023.

So for everyone else who is eligible for another code, SAVE THE CODE until your current deliveroo plus is able to expire to make the most use.

      • I didn't say it added to the previous subscription - I said it added 6 months from today, so yes - it finishes on May 1st, instead of the previous date in March…

        • +1

Thanks, I get what you mean now.

Better tip would be to wait till your deliveroo plus is about to expire then use the code to add on. Otherwise you waste 4 months from the previous code.

      • Except how do we know when this particular deal expires?

        • The previous deal linked in description is still valid, marked as long running deal.

          • @CodeXD: Does that mean theres no end date when we should be overwriting our subscription from the previous deal?

            • @PorkHunt: As in, the deal has been going on for so long that I expect it to be on for a while.

I would say it is safe to wait till closer to March 2023 (if your previous code is for 6 months) before redeeming.

This is all based on previous deal's expiration and that more and more mastercard x deliveroo deals have been popping up. No one can say anything for certain unless they work for mastercard or deliveroo and have insider knowledge.

    • How do you enter the code?

  • I received a 12 months offer. I didn't sign up yet as unsure if it was legit. lol

  • +2

As usual the CBA Diamond cards aren't eligible for this offer…

    • +2

I got 6mo Uber One membership for free.

      • Same!

      • +1

Where did you find the offer? I cant find it in the rewards section of the commbank app

  • +7

Signed up under the free Mastercard trial, yet to use it still. The free delivery is still paltry considering the baked in fees on menu items and "service fee". I'm surprised people pay for this.

    • +4

You need to learn how to stack. For example, this deal purchased with 20% off gift cards would have meant ridiculously cheap food.

      • +2

It all depends. Not much use for me.
Few stores are on Deliveroo in my area.

That 40% off Deal was not available for delivery where I am. No available stores.
Normally get up to 45% discount at PappaRich through EatClub - 2 stores within 4km. With no increased menu pricing!

Wasn't going to buy up on gift cards, for a service I rarely use. (Only used once! Got free delivery with Deliveroo Plus MC Deal & $15 off first purchase.)

Prices were much more expensive than store prices & menu limited, so wouldn't normally bother!! Would rather support small restaurants directly.

But likely good for regular users

  • Got 6 months nice

  • +1

Do you have to cancel it before it expires so they don't bill you or it will cancel automatically?

    • +2

you have to cancel in 5 months

  • Thanks OP!

  • finally something that works that doesnt need a credit card

  • Thanks OP. Reminder set to Cancel it 2 days before Payment

  • How do you get Mastercard debit cards?

I have 3 CBA debit cards and they are all Visa..

  • Worked well, thank you. I wonder if anyone knows, does Mastercard need to be utilised for payment always? Or can we use other payment methods like Visa or Paypal after we have signed up. Thanks.

    • +1

You can use other payment methods for the food orders, you don't need to use the Mastercard used to sign up for this deal.

      • +1

        Thank you so much. Gratitude.

  • Apparently Deliveroo isn't a thing in my town. Damn.

  • Got a 12 month from my Coles MC, sweet f-all places that deliver to me though 😴

  • Worked with my westpac MasterCard thanks

  • Thank you worked for Coles mastercard. Gave me 12 months.

    Any for Doordash and/or UberEats?

  • FYI - If its anything like the previous Mastercard Deliveroo offer, they will remove subscription if you cancel the sub too early. Happened to myself, and saw someone else in the previous thread say the same thing.

  • Does anyone know if drivers prefer short or longer distance deliveries? I usually avoid ordering from restaurants which are far away thinking that drivers don't like long drives but I could be wrong.

    • I drive for Uber Eats - as long as you're within 10km of the CBD I don't mind. Shorter is better when chasing down quest numbers (extra money for completing X amount of trips in a night).

I'll take a long drive to a house over a short drive to an apartment in the CBD any day (finding a park is ALWAYS a nightmare, if you want to help a driver tell them where they can easily park and meet them on the street/in your lobby - finding a park, getting lift access and finding your apartment is the biggest source of time loss for a driver).

  • Call me cheap but I usually don't order over $20. so no use to me.

  • +2

This is an absolute waste of time.
I have ordered food from 2 different locations and neither of them turned up.
The rider that had the foorcwas rude and arrogant and made no attempt to deliver the foof at all.

I will never use them again!!!

    • Ordered KFC 2 hours ago and still saying preparing the food in app, guess won’t be using deliveroo again haha

      • Yep, that's their usual trick. In reality the food was made 5 mins after KFC received the order and has been sitting on the counter for the past 2 hours waiting for a driver to accept the job. The other thing I absolutely hate about this company as they will revise the ETA to a later time every 5-10 mins and then when the order finally arrives you get a little pop-up saying it's been delivered on time (despite the 12 prior revisions of the ETA).

  • Cheers mate. I got it. Sometimes they send good offers

  • Any ideas why in my area deliveroo has only about 12 places to order from whereas menulog has over 100?
Many of the others are listed, they just always say "closed" in deliveroo.
I contacted deliveroo & they just gave a generic reply that they regularly add new ones - keep looking.

  • This offer isn't great to be honest. Sure the deliveries are relatively cheaper - but waiting 1-2 hrs and receiving cold food isn't worth it in my opinion. Better off picking up the food yourself or using one of the more reliable delivery companies.

  • I got this offer for 12 months via CommBank. I've got a Platinum Debit Card.

We have today made the sad announcement that we are leaving Australia. This has been a difficult decision to make. We have enjoyed serving you the amazing food that Australia is known for, working with thousands of brilliant restaurants and riders.

Deliveroo, like all other companies, is now doing business in challenging economic conditions, which requires us to take difficult decisions. We always aim to deliver the best possible service for our consumers wherever we operate, and if we cannot do that we will be prepared to review our position.

In Australia, we have concluded that achieving a sustainable position of leadership in the market is not possible without a disproportionate level of investment which would have highly uncertain returns.

On the basis of this decision, Deliveroo Australia has been placed into administration. The director of Deliveroo Australia has appointed Michael Korda, Andrew Knight and Craig Shepard of KordaMentha as voluntary administrators. To find out more, including information for creditors, please visit click here. You will receive further communications from the Administrators shortly.

    What this means for you

Deliveroo Australia has ceased operations, meaning you can no longer place orders on Deliveroo in Australia.

You will still be able to access your customer account for up to 6 months from this date onwards. After this period your customer account will be closed. Within this period while your account is open, you can download your customer information.

Thank you for ordering with Deliveroo.

For any further information, please visit the administrators’ website at: https://kordamentha.com/creditors

We want to thank you again for using Deliveroo.

    The Deliveroo Team

    • I didnt want to believe you… but then I tried to search for restaurants and

      There's a problem
We're really sorry. We're working to fix it as soon as possible. Please try again later.

    • well my free deliveroo+ (that I never used) is no more - wonder how much CBA / Mastercard paid for this promo

  • +1

Kind of useless now knowing they've gone bust.

  • +1

    Got the same email

  • +1

    Well…. shi!t

  • Well at least I used the free delivery for over $20 a few times. Last time was on Sunday watching the world cup final.

  • +1

What happens to the unused gift card balance? Do I lose it all?

    • Yep cause they are in administration.

  • +2

Lol, got the free 1 year Deliveroo+ and never got to use it.

    • +1

Yeah same. Time to cancel the cancel reminder and cancel the membership.

  • I managed to get my meal delivered with a $15 discount but it took an hour and a half to arrive.
Vale deliveroo. I just deleted my account, it said they’ll permanently delete my data in a month.Hopefully they don’t get hacked in the meantime.

  • +1

Ok dumb question but where did you all find the option to cancel Deliveroo plus? Half the stuff in tha website do not work. I am guessing it does not matter anyway but still being careful

    • Not sure about today but yesterday I managed to get into my account/subscription and it had a delete account permanently button

  • DO any1 know how to cancel the membership now?
