[NSW] Herman Miller Aeron Chair Size B $2440 (after $150 Discount) + SYD Metro Delivery Only ($0 SYD C&C) @ Sit Back & Relax

3013

Apparently everyone hated it when I posted a deal for $2170 for an Aeron just days before it was raised to $2590. You all cried that it wasn't a proper deal because it was the normal price:

Well, now I have a proper "deal" for you. Instead of getting it for $2170 like I posted, you can now get it for $2440 (after a generous $150 discount).

    • I got my chair from that deal. Great purchase considering I used it for like 50% of my day.

      • +3

Get better value, sleep it in, claim 100% of your day to get your moneys worth!!

  • +9

Would have been a bargain if minimum wage is $213.80 an hour..

  • +18

OP really should sit back and relax.

    • +2

      lol.

    • +8

They're gonna need to sit down when they see the feedback from here…ridiculous price, as others indicate this has inflated significantly with no reasonable or logical explanation.

  • +9

Damn you had a steal price at $2170 on your previous deal. I got one for $1.9k a year ago but returned it because it hurt my back lol. Definitely worth checking it out before buying as the refund was a painful process and took me a month and a half to process

  • +10

I love my Aeron which I have had for many years but ffs over$2k is nuts.

  • +12

Hope they would offer 95% cashback, similar to cash back on VPNs

    • +12

Imagine if it didn't track lol.

      • +3

You mean if the cashback company just sits on it!

  • +9

I needed a good laugh today.

    Thanks OP

  • +14

That's a completely reasonable price jack on an already massively overpriced chair

  • I'll give you $150 before discount

  • +2

Must be a pricing error. I think its missing a couple of zeros. 244000? Please fix otherwise I won't be able to 'Sit Back & Relax'.

    • Must be wrong currency…. !!

  • +3

Great chair, I bought the Aeron from Living Edge at the start of Covid in 2020 for $1700 and I thought that was expensive. The inflation is real on these!!! Although I think it is really the strong USD that is driving up the price than actual inflation.

    • Strong USD to weak AUD?

  • +2

I think unless my workplace is paying for this, or this was some sort of instant tax write off if I had my own business, I couldn't consider a Herman Miller a bargain any more, unless its something like 25% less than retail.. Seems like most Herman Miller posts are now just a place you go to say how much you bought yours for and how much less that price was than the current price?

  • +3

Jesus im sorry but this chair is NOT worth this much when arguably more comfortable chairs like the Steelcase Gesture and Haworth Fern are less than half the price. These dealers are just throwing in all kinds of upcharges that no other furniture company is doing, at least to this level. Even the Human Scale Liberty is better value.

    • Where can I get a Gesture for $1,200? Genuine question.

      • +1

They have occasional discounts (look out for the Black Friday sale I guess, but even at $1400 its a far better value proposition than whatever they're charging for the Aeron). The Fern is like under $1k at OW.

        • I read some reviews on the OW Fern on OW's own website. It lacks the lumbar support and some of the other features of the 'genuine' Fern models, apparently.

Gesture with a headrest is $2,100; $1,800 without, on their website. Hopefully BF deals are good. :) Thanks for the reply.

          • +1

@Frunk: Between you and me, the additional lumbar isn't that great (the chair is unique in that it already had inbuilt lumbar) - so save your costs and get try it without the lumbar (I think OW has a return policy? Not sure).

I don't personally like headrests myself, so up to you if you want to spend the extra for Gesture or Fern or whatever.

Amazing Chair, I bought mine for $27.50 back in 1996 and its still as new, well worth the investment

  • Thanks op bought three, feeling generous anyone else want one ?

    • +1

Only if you can drop to my place between 8.00am and 8.15am tomorrow morning

  • +3

    it is a great chair.
I bought one 10 years ago for $900, and now I am still sitting on it, no fault parts,no loosen mesh, everything still working properly like it was on day one.

    • Same - bought at around the same time. The best part is I can sell it to recoup all my cost.

      • +1

We live in an insane world where you can buy a chair, use it heavily for 10 years, sell it for what you paid for it.

        • Money is worth 1/2 what is was 10 years ago? Buy a house, use it heavily for 10 years, sell it for double.

          • @Top G: Not every house double in price in the past 10 years though.

    • About 14-15 years on mine, still going great. I would not pay the proce asked in the OPs post though.

  • I think this one would have to come with a Miss Hermi Miller before I even thought about it.

  • +2

This thing is $1000 5 years ago.
You can sell this thing second-hand for $1000 if not tortured.
    What an INVESTMENT piece!!!
Everyone should buy one of those before it is too late, these will sell at $4000 in 2027.

Trash chairs. Work has them. They were clearing some out a few years ago for few hundred bucks. Couldn’t pay me to sit on one.

A Markus from IKEA is much more comfortable.

    • This is quite an astonishing and intriguing conclusion you have made. Can you elaborate on how the junky looking Markus compares to an ergonomic-centric chair that is built to last 40 years?

By "comfort" do you mean the Markus has a pad instead of mesh, so it feels softer to you?

      • +5

Over engineered by people who must have read a lot books on the theory of ergonomics but have never actually sat in a chair for more than a few hours.

Markus has a much higher back, supporting a lot better.

        • Markus has a much higher back, supporting a lot better.

I think you are insane but hey, good for you and each to their own, you found a chair that you find comfortable for long periods of time and it cost you under $300.

        • +1

sounds like you didn't set your work chair up properly? the whole point of these is to make you sit properly so you don't need the higher back/neck/head support, as you're sitting in a proper neutral position.

          • -1

            @lulzenberg:

            make you sit properly

And that’s what I hate about these so called ergonomic chairs.

A chair should accommodate the person, not the person having to maintain unnatural and uncomfortable positions because some “expert” thinks it’s better for you.

I’ll listen to my body thanks and sit in a manner that doesn’t injure me.

            • +1

@PainToad: if sitting properly is uncomfortable/hurts that's a sign you have bad posture and need to fix it up. i'm sure you won't listen to this as you seem fairly set in your ways, but there is a reason why these "experts" exist.. and slouched shoulders, neck injuries, muscle imbalances/strain and fatigue are just a few of the reasons why.

    • Used them at work also but I wouldn't degrade them as trash but they not that comfortable as ozb claims, just a ok chair.

Only good thing about these is that fully adjustable for most body shapes. Not so value for money for personal use.

  • I'll see your Herman Miller and raise you a KAB.

  • +2

Whats the price in Turkish lira via VPN?

  • +3

    Is this a joke?
I got mine 3 years ago with a bit more than 1K and tbh I don’t think it is $800 better than a ikea chair. It still gave me terrible back pain for sitting 8 hours.

    • -1

It still gave me terrible back pain for sitting 8 hours.

So, is there a better chair out there that allows you to sit for longer than that?

      • +1

The truth is no chair gonna save my back pain no matter how much it costs. I am standing all day now.

    • +3

Perhaps you shouldn't be sitting for that long a stretch?

  • +1

Has COVID-19 virus added $1,000 of extra feature to these chairs?

    • +2

Have you looked at the exchage rate and shipping costs lately?

      • +1

I bet King Charles would be proud to sit on this "throne"…

  • +1

What the actual f is with this pricing? That’s Embody territory.

  • +3

    Save some cash, just stand.

    • How so?

    • It's true.

      • And very aggressive!

  • Thanks OP, grabbed 10

  • +1

So joke posts are allowed as long as the mods find it funny enough?

  • Hold back big discounter

  • OP got a bee in his bonnet about this chair

  • I wouldn't feel comfortable sitting on all that money.

  • +1

    Not a bargain either way.

  • Just got a second hand Haworth Zody with leather seat and arm rests for under $200. Worth it

  • Can only afford tree fiddy

  • Do the specs say it will continue to outperform the stock market as a store of wealth?

  • +1
    • Only that colour though?

  • That's one salty OP.

  • This will be 4k soon haha
    Suppose someone is buying them.

  • About $1000 more than they used to be which was an expensive buy then. Blah blah blah inflation, but not ~50% inflation. That's worse than lettuce and cooking oils.

  • +1

Positive'd due to the passive aggressive comment. Love your work wat

  • Second hand with extra fart seasoning now costs as much as brand new 1 year ago

  • This is too cheap for my bum, don't they have anything more expensive?

  • -1

Not a bargain and anti community post sentiment.

  • I found one of these in hard rubbish. Sold it before the prices skyrocketed though ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • Just went showroom yesterday. there is a black friday sales coming. hold your wallet.
