    Hi again.
Sorry guys, but we've now had to expire this promotion and drop the cashback rate until such time BOOST fixes the issue with the code.
    Apologies for the inconvenience.
    thanks,
    minita

    • Hi again.
BOOST has just confirmed that due to issues beyond their control, this offer will no longer be reactivated this week.
Looking forward to some strong deals over Black Friday hopefully.
      thanks for your understanding,
      minita

      • +1

that's so sad my current is expiring 9 DEC. I was planning to purchase one on the 7th NOV. Now it only worked for less than a day

    • +1

Do recharges via online chat still get the cash back?

  • +4

They will probably upsize the cashback on Black Friday

    • Yeah I am holding for this vs Amaysim

  • Cheers @WatchNerd

  • +6

So approx 11.66gb of data for $11 a month, on Telstra and likely, 5G for the duration of the deal. Great buy!

      https://boost.com.au/blogs/help-topics/5g-trial

      5G Trial Access
From 30 May, we'll be rolling out a 5G access trial for Boost customers.
To be eligble for the trial you need to have an active recharge, a 5G compatible device and be in a 5G coverage area.
The trial will run until 28 November 2022.

      • +2

Yes, good news. But hoping that the Black Friday news that was hinted at on a previous Boost/CR thread will be that the 5G trial will become permanent

  • +3

Damn it. Just got my OzB membership downgraded. Bought this yesterday, as the last day of that promotion, with the vanilla cashback of $35. This new promotion gives you extra 1 week later to activate too. Lost $2 and 1 week of sim plan.

  • +30

    Sup Nerds,
I PAID THE FULL PRICE OF $200 for this last Friday and I REGRET NOTHING.

    • +6

Thanks. You made me feel much better.

    • cool

      • Your profile pic is exactly how I imagine Sinnerator right now

    • +3

But the old deal was still active on Friday.

    • +3

I don't care how much of a discount off a new phone or the size of the vouchers you get from JB Hi-fi when signing up to a 24month & $69/month (or $99/month plan). If you have wifi at home and work, this is more than enough data for most people and even at full price, $200 for a year for Telstra network is heaps better than other plans out there

      • Might be a silly question, but what happens if you do run out of DATA? Do you just buy another 140GB on a deal like this and have it credited to your number??

I am not a heavy data user but just curious as I'm thinking of switching both my number and the wife's over to Boost, but I have a feeling she will burn through the 140GB.

        Thanks for the help 👍

        • If you have a dual sim phone just take advantage of cheap 1 month sim deals posted on here for more data.

    • Next time just go in chat and say you paid $150 last time, they will refund you and possibly give you bonus data. If anything you should be proud as it is kinda hard to pay full price on this!

    • +3

Please hand in your membership and exit quietly by the back door.

    • +1

Seriously, forget about caherwards cashback… how did you paid $200 last friday.. probably forgot to see this deal code https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/732622
      Do your homework…

    • I appreciate your energy

  • +2

The only thing i would point out is, Boost don't support global roaming. Otherwise, they're awesome!

    • +3

      No longer true.

Source: had coverage while overseas just last week.

      • Nope, was OS last week too and did not work. Perhaps you are referring to wifi calling… that works for calls and sms regardless of country (as its just wifi aka internet not cellular4g/5g).

    • They support VoWifi oversea.

      • Sorry, do you need to do anything to activate VoWifi compared to how we use standard wifi?

        • Might be a setting within your sim cellular options that you will have to turn on for VoLTE, but it's prob already on automatically? My partner was still getting calls (and texts) coming through when we were overseas despite her iphone being on airplane mode with only wifi on.

    • +5

Not true. International roaming works. Just connect to wifi or if you have a dual sim slot, pop in a local sim with data n boost works fine. Receiving n calling back to Australia is free n u receive SMS too. Much better than paying for international roaming.

      • what about if you get an esim as second sim?
did this work on an iphone

        • i have an iphone n found a mobile operator (XOX malaysia) you provided esim for prepaid line. activated the esim n turned on the data on the local sim. Boost worked fine and was making n receiving calls just like you were in Australia.

      • -1

Do you need VoWifi capable phone for this to work?

        • Most phones have vowifi enabled now a days, but yes you need vowifi enabled phone for boost to work when roaming.

      • You're literally descirbing a work around becuase boost does not support global roaming (i.e.use a local sim).

      • Boost just told me over chat that wifi calling doesn't work overseas (which doesn't seem to match with all the accounts I've been reading); can I ask when the last time was that you confirmed it working while overseas? I'm hoping to just receive SMS while overseas by connecting to wifi.

        • +1

Last month, used it in Vietnam. Connected to the hotel wifi n was able to make calls to Australia n receive calls n SMS. Calls to other location doesn’t work though. Haven’t tried to send SMS.
          Iphone n boost $200 plan.

          • @shanlee: Thanks - I'll give it a go and fingers crossed it works.

  • I was going to say "dupe" but the other bargain is $35

  • Is there a way to do this if I'm already with Boost? Do I need to port off to somewhere else then back on?

    • +3

Past comments said you just gotta hop onto the Boost live chat and ask them to transfer the credit to your account

      • Oh nice, thanks for that

      • Hi Bargainsgrabber if one hop onto the Boost live chat n get them to transfer the credit, so they still get cashback?

        • Hey mate, I’m not too sure on this as I haven’t tested it before. 2 of my $30 SIMs that I ordered few months ago were approved even though I haven’t used it yet

  • Remember if you prefer Vodafone (I must be one of 10 who get shit Telstra and Optus coverage), it is currently $92.60 for 13 months of 140GB using the $2.60 e-sim and then this recharge (vouchers expire 30/11): https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-mobile-prepaid-voucher-co…

    • Except that Kogan doesn't support VOLTE :(

      • Although unlike the Telstra 3G network, the Vodafone 3G network isn't over capacity and works fine for voice calls. And you don't need VoLTE for HD calling.

  • +1

    Good deal.

    Wish it applied to recharges.

  • +1

For anyone that ordered last week, has your SIM shipped? I ordered Wednesday and no updates since…

    • +1

it took 2 weeks for mine to come.

    • Same here. Only received order confirmation email on the 26th Oct but no further updates since.

      • I ordered mine on the 26th. No further emails. Received mine today. Postie decided no signature was required I guess as it was in my letter box.

        • +1

Just received mine as well. I guess Boost don't bother with dispatched email notification anymore.

    • Thanks to this thread, I almost forgot about the order I made last week..

    • +1

      Received yesterday. QLD

    • +1

Ordered last Thursday. Got no updates about dispatch at all and received them yesterday.

  • I don’t see the voucher code in cash rewards. Code might make it invalid for cashback.

    • I just clicked on the link in OP and I can see the voucher code listed on CR

      • It’s not in the app.

  • Does this work on recharge?

  • +1

Better reception from Boost vs 10% off woolies every month from Woolworths mobile, tough choice!

    • +1

Switch one of your insurance policies to Woolworths to keep your 10% discount.

      • Woolworths gets very average insurance reviews. You might save on shopping but lose out on your insurance claim!

Anyone getting an error after entering BOOST170? The promo code BOOST170 doesn't seem to be valid or has expired

  • +1

Is it pretty strict that needs to be activated within 30 days? Was hoping to buy for use in Feb

    • +1

Following. Mine expires 20 Dec. Hoping to delay activation by a few weeks more

  • BOOST170 code is not working - say its either invalid or expired?

  • +4

    Hi.
We've just contacted BOOST about the code not working.
Will update when we know more, and apologies on their behalf as it's meant to expire Nov 8.
    Thanks,
    minita

  • Same here. BOOST 170 not working

  • Final day on my 28 day boost sl*t
Need to port out with someone else today.
(Side note, any Woolies/coles sim deals this week?)

When does this expire? Worth the gamble waiting for Black Friday?

    Edit: nov 8

    • Just jump on chat mate. Say your family bought the 140gb for $150 and how can you get that deal as an existing customer. They will ask you to buy full price from the store, then they will refund you the money and add bonus data.

  • Does anyone know if Boost has international roaming by any chance? May need it for OTP sms etc when traveling.

  • My current plan expires on 17th Dec.. so I will need to buy this after 17th Nov so that I don't have to activate it before my plan expiry unless they extend the activation date. How do we know if they extend it?

  • What do you do after 12 months? I'm with boost, not sure if it's worth porting out then back again

    • Just jump on chat mate. Say your family bought the 140gb for $150 and how can you get that deal as an existing customer. They will ask you to buy full price from the store, then they will refund you the money and add bonus data.

      • Awesome thanks will give it a go

      • No luck, i am jumping to woolies mobile

  • Anyone know if you can redeem this as an existing customer? I think people said it was possible via live chat, but i guess you might not get the cashback in that case?

    • Did you try with promo, it's not working

  • It says activate within 30 days. My Boost plan is expiring in Feb 2023. I guess buying it now is not a good idea.

  • +2

It's seem promo code BOOST170 expired, I have tried It's not working anymore. If anyone know other way. Please share your thoughts. This is my first post. Thanks for everyone here.

    • +1
