Maybe you should put travel period is in 2013 in the post?

    • +1

There are some periods for early July to late August 2012, but yes, most are for 2013

  • i can see flights for June next year but wont let me book, anyone else able to book for June nextyear ?

    • I can't either, best I can get is May 25th…thinking I should go to bed and hope it's fixed in the morning, and then hope my flight hasn't gone!

      • +1

u pick the latest date in the calendar and change it in the page after

        • Worked perfectly, $250 for Perth-GoldCoast-Whitsundays-Brisbane-Perth…great deal.

        • Cant book a june 2013 pnewat fIght from per to sin :(

  • +50

Travel period is May to June NEXT YEAR… I can't even plan what I want to eat for dinner tomorrow..

    • +16

Mi Goreng. And every night after. By June you can afford a nice holiday. :p

    • the question is, will jetstar still be around next year? look like qantas wont be ;)

    • +8

Not a bad thing though. Did a trip on Air Asia last year where I booked 10 months ahead. By the time the holiday had come, I'd stalked awesome deals on 5 star hotels and paid everything off so that when the holiday came, I had spending money saved and nothing to pay out on the CC.

It's kind of like holidaying by layby.

FYI This includes 60% off one way international flights as well !! So the return ticket is not on sale. Can't decide if I should go to Bali or Honolulu

    • It shows up as sale for the return leg?

      • E.g. Syd <-> Osaka is discounted both ways, though the sale menu only shows Syd -> Osaka one-way.

  • Is $718 return to Hawaii cheap?

    • Not too bad if you travel light. Add checked baggage onto that. Hawaiian gives you 2 x 32kg which is handy if you are a shopper.

    • +3

Yes but do you want to fly over the Pacific Ocean in a small plane?

Went to Honolulu last year in May and it was $1,500 per person return with Hawaiian Airlines (booked ~8 months in advance). I'm pretty sure prices have come down a bit since then though

      • For $1500, I got return flights and 3 inter-island flights. Think the Honolulu leg was ~$1100, but have seen cheaper. Didn't plan on going when there was a deal earlier in ~Feb on OzB. Doh!

    • you will not get cheaper than $718 guaranteed. i flew jetstar this year to honolulu. it is not too bad. yes it is not as good as hawaiin air or qantas but you are saving approx. $500. i took a sleeping pill anyway and it was one of the best flights i've been on.

As usual though, they cut out school holiday periods, whereas Air Asia don't. You suck Jetstar.

    • +7

isn't that just a commercial reality that you don't sell your product cheaply during the period that it is most in demand. In fact, they need periods of good margin sales in order to be able to offer the low margin sales like this one. That's the way the world works.

      • -4

Air asia don't block those periods, and it sucks for teachers and people with school age kids. So I stand by my statement that jetstar sucks

        • noob

        • +1

ppl with school aged kids get all the tax cuts to make up for it anyway

  • +1

:) thank you! thats all my birthday/ wedding presents done for next year! all without leaving bed :)

  • Dammit… planning on going to Fiji next year in late June. At least with this sale I can fly to Fiji… will have to wait for a sale to fly back lol

  • Trying to book Syd - Mel return fly in early June. It shows $19 per fly on the select date page, but when I am continue to select flight page, shows me all normal price.

  • I go to select June next year but all dates are blanked out and can't select June dates

    • Type it into the date box rather than use the calendar. It will work.

  • yeah, it seems the website, showed an error. keeps showing the normal prices!!

  • I can view all flights up until June 2013, and select it, however when i click next where you are meant to choose luggage size etc, i get not available…

does it mean its sold out or buggy site?

    • buggy site. It wouldn't work in IE for me

  • This sale seems a bit too desperate if you ask me.

The travel dates are simply too far out — really, who plans domestic flights now for 2013?

What happens if Qantas goes but — as has been thrown about in media lately — before then?

    • "who plans domestic flights now for 2013?"

      I do.
My daughter is at Uni in Bleak City and we fly her back if we can find cheap semester flights(we pay either way) and we also grab a pair of airfares to anywhere return and then we just work towards being free for that particular time :D
I work for myself and can change my schedule to suit, I guess it's harder to do if your a wage/salary slave with annual leave and little else…still that's life!

Thxs to OP for the link…somewhere here we come!

    • I dont think the government would let them go bust.

  • Just got return flight SYD-LST for $39 each way over the Queens Birthday long weekend. About $10 cheaper than usual, but still good. Just have to remember to get accommodation sorted sometime next year! :o

  • +1

not gonna rush into booking these tickets, i reckon we'll see this kind low fares more often as the crude oil price has dropped 20% in 2 months.

    • I hope you are right. By the time work approved by time off for May 2013 the Cairns Adelaide flights had all gone :(

  • Booked tickets last minute before I had to pop out. GOt caught out booking with the girlfriend over the phone, we both tried booking perth to melb on each of our ends. Got to the end purchase, mine stufed up, went back and realised my fare had disappeared because she'd takent he last $89 seat and so the next one was the $199 :( . Although I am not sure if when you select two adults at once it would have got around this. BEcuase previously for perth to sydney there were two adults at $89… not sure if buying it seperately it phases out the seats temporarily so a second person pays more? Could be pure speculation and in fact she really did by chance get the last seat.

Anyway that aside $89 WAS the special for perth-melb for her, and i think we are taking melb - syd for $20? or $29… followed by $89 back from syd to perth… how is that for prices as I have not really flown domestic budget (well domestic in general) before?

On top of this it is about $18 for 20kg luggage add ons, $5 for seat choice, which I guess even air asia has.

My last complaint is the money gouging/plain dishonesty in payment - every credit card but a 'jetstar' mastercard incurs a $8.50 transaction fee. COMON, we pay at all sorts of businesses day and night, really $8.50? Just add it to the ticket fare than use unscrupulous add on prices.

What's more of a kick in the gutt - when my first attempt to book seperately our tickets had failed, and I had to go out, prior to the sale ending I told her to just book for both of us. Doing both passengers in one transaction etc , and going to pay in one hit, it charges $8.50 PER PASSENGER. Blatantly not a processing fee if the same credit card payment incurs two fees.

Other than that no fault. THe $199 instead of $89 ticket sure spoilt the mood though, luckily it was just me on that one journey, or I assume we'd be paying normal prices (what's the normal pricing around end of may?)

    • The cc fee used to be $5 or $6 i think few years back. But now they've jacked it up to $8.50! Damn… But lucky they still got the free DD option, which is what I always used anyway. Only problem is that if they go belly-up, I cant get a refund from my bank. :(

  • Got 3 adults, 1 child and 1 infant Syd - Goldcoast return in Nov for $360..

    comes to $45 one way.
    Pretty good deal me thinks.
