  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.
  • Cashback is ineligible on prepaid phones, recharges, and any plans or products not specifically listed in the cashback table of rates.
  • You must return and click through from Cashrewards every time you make a new transaction/purchase.

  • Thank you heaps for this :)

    • Glad It was useful to you!

  • So you can purchase 6x $20 sims and still get 100.% cash back on all orders as long as separate orders?

    • +1

If the Boost order system lets you, yea. Normally stops at 3 for me.

    • +1

SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.

      • +1

That's where they get ya. Pass for me

    • It says you need to activate in 1 month time, how can you use 6 numbers?

      • 6 different numbers

        • -1

          thats Krazy~ with K not C @krazy

  • +3

    The bet is getting bigger.

    • Fingers crossed

    • my cashbacks of purchases in August are approved

      • Same, came through today.

  • If I need a sim sooner, can I pick up a sim from the store and use that to activate this account?

    • +1

It is risky for cashback. Coles sells the $30 SP for $10.

  • +1

I need the yearly $200 ones..

    • +2

      Me too at $140

  • +4

    Still no eSIM on Boost

    • We don't have esim capability yet but it is a top priority for us, we are working really hard to offer it as soon as possible for both existing customers and new customers!

  • can u use boost to get out of telstra and get back in for the jb hifi deals?

    • Past comments suggest porting to a different network has less complications.

  • Been a while since I've used it, how long does cashback take to approve for Boost deals these days? Around 3 months?

    • Yes, around 3 months according to the Cashrewards site.

    • +1

Cashback from my purchases in mid-September was approved in the last week or so

  • That's just the first month free, but with extra steps.

Not as good as Coles one, it was $15 dollars a few days ago, I would wait for the special again from Coles.

  • +2

FYI: CR offer expires: Nov 8, 2022, 11:59:00 PM

  • do ppl just get these and then migrate to new sim after 1 month for free service?

    • +6

      Yes
Or if you have a dual sim phone, and if you don't make calls/SMS a lot (i.e. mainly receiving calls, SMS and using data)
a better option would be a $9 ($30) sim from Vodafone, opt in for the 180 days plan (keep your old number),
      or
$5 ALDI mobile 365 days plan
then activate a 2nd sim card for data usage every month (new number).
your average cost would be $1.50/m or $0.42/m

      • If you wanted to stay with Boost, do you swap out to another provider and swap back in when a new deal gets listed the month after?

        New to this.

        • +3

From my 10+ years of sim hopping, the best move is don't stay with 1 particular network if you want to keep your number.

Firstly you need to find out which network your mobile service provider is actually using.
For example ALDI is telstra, Boost is telstra, Woolworth's is telstra, Amaysim is optus, Coles is optus, Kogan is Vodafone etc.
It's the best to hop from one network to another, i.e. Don't hop from ALDI to Boost, or Amaysim to Coles as they both use the same network.

Secondly, don't hop back to the same network in less than 28 days.
i.e. Don't hop from Boost (Telstra) to Kogan (Vodafone) on 1/Nov then hop to ALDI (telstra) on 14/Nov.
You may hop from Boost (Telstra) to Kogan (Vodafone) on 1/Nov then hop back to Boost (telstra) on 28/Nov

The above two rules are there to avoid all sorts of funny errors when you register & transfer your old number to your new mobile service provider.
Otherwise, it may take up to 3 days for a technician to fix the error for you.
Most of the time no one really knows why and what the error is. It's painful to contact CS 100million times.

For the past few months, I was hopping between Boost ($3 profit) and Kogan ($2.90 cost)

      • What's the $30 180 plan?.I can't see it on their site

    • +2

I am using a sim card modem at home, I buy these sim cards for home Wifi, used to buy a lot of kogan ones, yes I will need to change the card whenever the data finishes and end up getting a lot of junk numbers

      • forgot to say, I usually finish one card per week, 4 ppl at home normally, when my mum visited and stayed in our house for two and a half month, we used one card every few days, that was the time when these boost deals just came up, which was great

  • How soon does the cash back pop up in your account?

  • can i get 2 and get 2 cashback? or only 1 will be eligible ?

    • +1

One click one SIM one cashback.

      • @Neoika - reckon they can deny your 2nd click, 2nd SIM, and your 2nd cashback by saying your CR already has 1 cashback??

        • +1

I stick to one sim per offer and it has worked good so far. I have seen others push their luck and are unable to activate.

  • If we are already with boost, can we buy this and activate the same number again?

    • Computer says no.

      • You can't self activate but you can with the help of chatting to the customer service team.

  • Activation was a pain. Online doesnt work, and had to contact them 3 times to get it activated, each attempt/person gave a different response. One of them had me going to a telstra shop to verify ID but telstra rep said not their problem.

    • Does using a previous Boost ID still have this issue? I am a bit worried as I have two numbers already.

      • I have 3 services in one Boost ID, viewable via APP only. Someone mentioned T&Cs says about 35 services allowed in the previous deal. I don't think it should be an issue for 5 services in one ID.

People having issues may not manage them under one ID. The Boost ID seems to be necessarily set up from Telstra before, not by itself. There is no such ID login option on Boost website. Speaking from my exp, not 100% sure.

        • I think you're right because up until recently creating a brand new account/Boost ID for each number worked for me but now it errors on the identification check, so as a result I've been using one pre-existing account for all activations and haven't experienced any issues.

    • Hi! Sorry to hear you've had some issues activating. If you're still experiencing any issues, please contact us at [email protected]

  • I'm about a week into a previous boost deal. Could I buy one of these and do a quick port out then back in in a few weeks time if I want this deal on my existing number?

  • Have they fixed the tracking issue with the CR iPhone app?

    • +1

      Hi,
Yes, it was resolved a week ago by Boost.
      thanks,
      minita

      • hi I had a boost Sim that I tried to activate on day 30 and it wouldn't work later I realise like 7 days later it was because of me needing to sign in on boost ID and from there it would work, but I'm sad that my cashback tracking probably won't go through now and I'll be outta $15 or $20 or whatever it was !!! What can do?

  • I've about 60 days left until my 365-day prepaid Boost plan expires, however I've only got 8gb of the 100gb or so left (not enough). Can someone please tell me what's my best (cheapest) option for getting an extra 10gb or so (if that's even possible) before it expires?

    • Get a Kogan sim, port your number to it, use it for a month/till data is gone, then port back to boost.

Can get Kogan sim for $2.90 or $1 if you have a unidays account.

Topping up your boost account with more data means paying full price for a 28 day recharge/data top up you can buy a recharge like any other prepaid credit, but eww, full price.

I would see if any 365 day boost deals come up on black Friday. You just missed a $133 after cashback promo. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/734108

      • The Kogan $2.90 is now sold out.
The next cheapest is probably $4 Lebara from OW /WW/Coles

        • Geesus just $4 for 3 months and get 8gb x3 in total? Wow sim hopping really worth

          • @CyberMurning: I think it's $4 for 30 days looking at the details in this post.

The $14.90 on the pack is referring to the price per month for the first 3 months. So the second & third month will cost $14.90 each month.

  • I have a spare Boost SIM lying around and just ordered this deal online clicking through Cashrewards.

Question is can I use my other Boost SIM to activate this deal, or is the deal fixed to the SIM that Boost send me in the mail from the online order this time?

    • +1

When you activate you enter the sim number, there is no voucher code so the sim is tied to the deal.

  • +4

Now we wait for the cashback with profit instead ;)

    • Sunday and/or Tuesday?

    • +2

Im waiting too. No profit no buy with boost sims for me

  • im so want to try this (currently with belong, but i like boost feature receiving sms overseas wificalling).
yeah missed out the $133 deal just last week

just want to clarify - if i get this deal for just a month, and there is another good one like $133 deal last week for a year - i can use live chat and get that activated and transferred to my current number, right? as the good deals is always for "new customers" it says

  • wow, cheers! Holiday in few weeks, need some extra data for a week. Will get a random new number from them then enjoy and forget!

  • Thansk OP!

  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.

is that strictly enforced? like after 30 days the sim is useless?

    • For Cash back approval, you need to activate within 30 days.
Also All data offers are valid for new customers only who activate or first recharge by 28 November 2022.

The sim would still be valid but you wont get cashback.

  • anyone can confirm if im with belong and get this for a month, few days before 1 month i can transfer back to belong ? (because both are telstra)

    • Previous comments suggest less complications if you port to a different network.

Also if porting back to Belong use a different email if you want the $20 referral credit.

      • thanks. i may go for 1 year then straight.

        • First thing I would be doing is getting out of Belong if you've got no more referral credits left, $15 per month is not cheap for sim sluts.

Grab one of these which will buy you some time & make porting easier if you're looking for a 1 year plan on a Telstra MVNO.

  • Thanks OP.

Bought it so as to try the 5G service!

  • Updated to $20.55 cashback till 8 Nov.
