  • Dose it comes with a tripod like the one on Amazon ? Photo only shows a webcam

    • +3

I got one a few years back and it did

    • I wondered that when I bought mine recently from amazon. Its a toy of a tripod anyway.

    • +1

      Tripod is small…

      • Its for your desk what do you expect….

Great webcam which also has a decent microphone. I got one to use for work during COVID lockdowns at more than twice this price and it’s been fantastic.

Agree. The only annoying thing is I think Teams compresses the video a fair bit so the quality isn't the same as what you see when opening the camera app on the PC/mac

      • Yes, it's a two-edge sword - you lose some clarity and resolution, but at least the video stream still works on less bandwidth. You could argue that it would be nice to have control to tweak it up a bit but that defeats the purpose, because it's not always you who has the dodgy connection, it can be the person on the other end of the call and Microsoft are trying to cater to the lowest common denominator.

      • Oh legit, Teams does that? That's damn annoying!

  • Thanks mate!

Too bad it Doesn’t come with a privacy cover

Find us a privacy cover deal

      privacy cover

Given the recent Optus and Medibank incidents, might have to take out a separate cover to protect privacy

      • Dang! Might as well use post it to cover it to save money

    • +1

Just dont keep it on in the bedroom.
You might be suprised later when the cheques start pouring in from your suprise onlyfans page

    • I bought one off Aliexpress for $2. Works great.

    • I got this one a while back: https://amzn.asia/d/cuoVmeQ

A little bit pricier than the others, but it's a nicer design I think :)

unplug it if you're that concerned geez…

    This is super old no?

C922 was released in 2016 and is the replacement of the 2012 C920, both are pretty much identical and still modern. If it isn't broke don't fix it.

      • Bought a C920 nearly 10 years ago to upgrade a QuickCam for $69 at JB. One of the few tech products that doesn't seem to age.

Wish Windows had native support for phone cameras like Continuity Camera on Mac

    How wide is the angle?
I ask as I often have a few people sharing the monitor and webcam in a conference call.

    • +1

Certainly wide enough that my wife & I sit side by side comfortably for our care team meetings… I really like this web cam… Have had ours over 12 months & no issues

  • This or Brio 500? - Any suggestions!

    • +2

Brio is obviously the better camera. This is like asking if it is better to buy a Samsung A53 or go for the S22 Ultra.

  • I've been trying to deal with these idiots for months in regard to the $80 store credit from end of finanical year. Store credit is completley unredeemable on their website as their gift card system has not worked for months.

  • Good webcam, only issue is it picks up the sound of a flee farting from 30 feet.

    • "This'll catch a flea farting off a dog's back at five hundred yards, Tannen, and it's pointed straight at your head!"

  • 502 error

Just purchased this recently after comparing webcams in similar price range. It sold me on the 60fps

Cheers, just bought one of those for our office. Havent heard of the brand before but looks decent!

    • +1

Thanks for this, just purchased it. Looks really good!

    • If you have another webcam to compare it to, I'm interested in knowing how the actual picture would compare? I have a Logitech C920 or C920 Pro - I'm not sure, but it's basically the old but very similar version of the C922 - and I'm curious how this compares to namebrand webcams like this Logitech one.

If the picture is good, the price is great. And I'm particularly interested in the 1080p at 60fps. I doubt I'd use the 2K 30fps.

      • I don't have any real life comparisons but I did come across this review which contributed heavily to making the purchase decision

I ordered a Razer Kiyo X for $59 just going to use it for Teams meetings, 1080p/30fps

Fb marketplace is flooded with these fyi. A few under $50 too

  • I'm thinking of buying it but I never do video chat from computer

  • Anyone know if you can still get Cashback if pay by gift card ?

  • +1

Solid webcam, very clear and the microphone is surprisingly good (I use it alongside RTX voice with background noise filtering. Seems to work a treat). The logitech software which goes with it - Logitech G HUB - has worked fine for me. Plug and play type thing. The resolution and fps increase are probably a touch overkill for calls, especially when you take compression in teams et al into account (Although, I think teams does do 1080p by default as of recently? zoom does 720 by default I am pretty sure). Still really like the clarity and ease of use though.

The two minor (nit-picking really…) issues I have are:
a.) that the usb cable length is a bit short ootb (when I am attaching to my monitor -> PC usb). Tend to rely on the tripod in this instance, which is actually a great addition. Easy to adjust, very portable and has little grips on the legs to prevent slipping. Laptop users won't have any issue

b.) No carry case for transporting, and no dust cover for storage (I use an old headphones case, but you can stick it in a glasses case pretty easily as well). Both are minor gripes though.

My major grip is that I paid $189 for this at OW in a mad afternoon rush at the very start of 2020….but that's on me…

  • Good deal, but I think creative labs webcam is the best value around, easy to buy for under $50

    • the mic on the creative webcam is awful though.

  • "Sorry, we are unable to process your gift card at the moment. Please try again later or visit your nearest store to complete your transaction."

Great, just bought a GC for this.

Somehow was able to get price match at JBHifi ,yay,The guy was not reluctant to match with codes discount but did it finally

  • Amazon where are you?

  • Just asked JB to price match via online chat. They bought it down to $80 cnc. Not bad when it's on their site for $199!

  • Never too keen on Logitech colours. Contrast is all wrong. Adjustable to a point but just not great. Honestly, it depends on what you want it for. Teams/Zoom yeah it's fine. Content creation…meh. I found the Razer Kiyo X to be decently good for cheap webcam. It suffers the same contrast issues that most webcams have thanks to their small sensors. Have 2 of them now. Angle is quite wide, but annoyingly it doesn't swivel. Not a problem for me as I use it on a mic arm and mini ball head but could be annoying if you want more adjustment. Mic quality is decent for what it is but again, it's better to buy a separate mic anyway.
