Great show. I paid $200+ for the tickets. Well worth it.

    • +2

Same, and for this I am going again

  • +4

All of the tickets for just $70!?

    • Been spendin' most their lives, livin' in the scalper's paradise.

  • +12

I'd like to be in the room when this happens

  • +4

has anyone won the $10 tickets? entered weekly but no luck so far

    • +1

Nup.. Deleted the app and unsubscribed a few weeks back after about 8 weeks of trying.

    • Same. Not sure how many tickets are allocated to the lottery. Way harder to win than in other shows. Seems like a ploy to promote the show for free.

I do know one person who has won.

    • I've won and my mum has won too!

    • I won two tickets. My friend also did. You may need to ask your mates to help you.

    • I've won in October and i've been trying since January

    • I recently won the Friday $40 Harry Potter ones. Great seats too

  • Thanks! got 2 tix. excellent seats.

    • +1

      Which stand would you recommend?

Thanks OP, looking forward to watching it

      • im not the best person to answer that. In my rush i chose some reasonable seats in stalls instead of better ones. but can't complain too much

  • +1

God damn it. Paid $300 for tickets just two weeks ago

    • +12

Burr Sir did tell you to wait for it😝

  • -4

Useful for those who haven't caught covid yet and want to get it out of the way.

    • +3

We saw Frozen, sitting in a seat with an aisle directly in front of us (so hundreds of people walked past), and I had a drink in an open cup. Did not catch covid.

      Packed theatre is no guarantee.

      • +1

You’re not going to catch covid by drinking it.

  • +1

Great deal, got some amazing tickets!

    • +7

i find it boring also but i don't go bad mouthing it because of the fact I don't like it, I'm sure there are plenty of things you enjoy that others would find boring but wouldn't criticize it, so why do you feel the need to do it?

    Great find OP

  • +1

Absolute bargain, previously $150+ tickets now only $70. Score score score! Great treat for my sister's birthday, thank you!

  • Thanks OP! Just got two tickets near the stage!

  • +1

Done. 7 in a row. dress circle. on my bday. Thanks so much OP

  • Which seats are recommended for best seating experience?

    • +2

Based on reviews of the theatre, Front-Middle seats of Dress circle are best.

      • yeah most of those are already sold.

        • Try Sunday 11/12 at 6.30PM. A few seats in the center on Aisle F in the Dress circle.

          • +1

@ramona: Managed to get centre on Aisle F in the Dress circle on my birthday a few days later! Originally had row E seats a little to the left originally for $250 but timed out and someone else nabbed them, but I might be happier more central one row back even if "only" $200 originally :D

  • Thanks OP! Got 2 $250 tickets for $70 each.

    • which section did you opt for?

      • +1

        Dress Circle!

  • you can enter the $10 ticket lottery weekly on TodayTix

I've entered dozens of times and still haven't won yet. Although I did win the equivalent deal for Harry Potter

Is there an age limit? I want to bring my three year old

    • +4

      I don’t think they’ll get it mate

      • -3

Doesn't matter. Will they get barred?

        • +2

Only if they start screaming and disturbing people around you I guess.

    • +14

For the sake of everyone else trying to watch the show in peace, just get a babysitter.

        • +1

Why risk getting booted in the off chance it happens?

        • +5

The people around you paid $70 a ticket too - I'm sure they'd like to enjoy the show without it being narrated by a toddler. Kids are great, but have you tried to keep a three-year-old quiet for 2+ hours? Good luck.

          Get a babysitter.

    • +3

What a great idea… might as well bring a toddler to club at King's Cross on a sat night.

      • -1

Don't book a ticket mate, if you think Hamilton is like King's cross on a Saturday night lol

    • +1

Said in FAQ not for those under 8 but didnt explicitly say toddlers were banned. However if you bring a toddler to a theater show you are going to get a lot of hate.

  • +1

No deal. Free for Disney+ member!

J/k, just jealous I'm not in Melbourne to see it

  • Thanks OP, always best to wait till these shows go on sale!

  • Would love to take the missus to see it, hopefully can find some cheap flights from Adelaide.

  • +4

I'm not throwing away this deal
Heyo I'm just like my OzBargainers
    I'm young, scrappy and frugal
And I'm not throwing away this deal

    • -2

      ?

    • +1

I'ma get this bargain to Her Majesty's Theater
I probably shouldn't brag, but dang, I'd be a fool not to take this

  • Damn that truly is a bargain

  • Thanks OP, scored middle seat of H row in the dress circle. A nice weekend activity in the calendar.

  • Thanks! I panicked jumped at the first half decent seats I saw so I got stalls in row L. Hopefully not too off side to miss things!
    Been waiting for cheaper tickets!

  • Just sat down for the show tonight and I'm pretty sure the seat I picked was way better. Definitely take note of what you select and what your ticket says.

    • +1

So you didn't seat on your allocated seat?

  • +1

    Website is struggling

  • Website definitely appears to be down right now.

  • Website is back online - Finally.

  • +2

    Can't make the payment!!!

  • i'm trying to sign up an account but it keeps telling me i have an existing account, i've tried like 3 different emails! anyone facing this issue?

  • I’ve finally made the payment but there was an error sending my ticket to mobile ? Anyone else having issues ?

    • What payment method did you use?

      • Paid on credit card, the payment is in the ticketek order history but it did not send to mobile, and I get this message when I click on Mobile Tickets:

        That was unexpected
If you were in the process of submitting payment, please check your Order History to confirm whether your purchase was successful; otherwise, please go back and try again.

        • Ahhh, this is really frustrating!

        • I have the same issue. Have you resolved this?

  • +1

    same issue, unable to checkout

    That was unexpected
There is a problem with your credit card or the details you have entered.

Please go back, check all the details are correct, and then try again. Your order has not yet been processed.

  • +1

    website down again

  • "Your credit card payment was not successful". Anyone got past this error message?

    • Just bought tickets, didn't get this error

      • Which payment method did you use? Did you do anything special? Teach me your ways!

    • I'm also stuck on this. Still unable to pay, panicking about my seats being taken. I really don't want to throw away my shot!

  • Finally worked.. But seating is worse

  • Anyone has luck redeeming gift vouchers? Same issue as others and saying credit card not accepted

    • Yes - same here. Even if I try to pay 100% using gift vouchers, still tells me my credit card is not accepted (even though no repayment is required on credit card).

    • I'm temporarily giving up, and going to retry later this afternoon. Hopefully still have not-terrible tickets then.

      • Thanks for the input, I’ll try giving their ticketing number a call after work, will update with outcome

        • They have a ticketing number? Their generic line doesn't allow bookings and they only do phone bookings for accessible seats.

          • @griffy: was this 1300 795 012?

            • +1

@rickyricardo6: @rickyricardo6 I didn't know of that one, I called their 13 28 49 number to no luck. Thanks for the number, I'll give that a go now!!

    • +1

UPDATE: gave their phone booking a call (number below), was informed that known issue with gift vouchers atm and happy to reserve seats using my phone number until IT issue resolve ~tonight/tomorrow AM.

      • Is this the 1300 795 012 number? I'm on the call with them right now and have been holding for about 20 minutes now.

        • +1

was cooking while on hold, ~30mins

  • +1

Not a huge fan of this musical, but I'd see it for 70 bucks. If I lived in Melbourne. I kinda want to see the Beetlejuice musical, it may be fundamentally flawed as a musical but it looks like a lot more fun and the songs are catchier.

    • I'd love to see Beetlejuice the musical coming to Australia. Saw it in NYC and it was a lot of fun! Also looking forward to &Juliet opening in Melbourne next year.

  • +2

I tried watching it on Disney+, the lyrics were a bit too fast to follow.
Do you need a knowledge of American history or just watching it live makes it a much better experience?

    • No prior knowledge needed (coming from someone who watched it live in August)

    • +1

I found the same thing with the lyrics when I watched it online.

Whenever I book my Covid vaccinations I sing to myself “ I am not throwing away my shot”.

  • Some of the seating are said to have restricted viewing. How bad can they get? Is it still worth it?
