Boost Mobile: $40 Cashback on $160 12-Month 140GB Plan @ Cashrewards

3350

Hi guys. This deal just got boosted prior to the $160 promo ending on November 15. Hopefully they don't sell out of SIMs, so get in early.

Click out via the offer on the main link of this post as it drives straight to the discounted SIM. If purchasing via the CR mobile app, search for Boost, scroll down to the offer, and tap out from there. Use the app for best results (see italics below). Stay safe, and enjoy :)

Cashback terms:

  • Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. Adding more than one SIM to an order will result in an untracked purchase.
  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.
  • You must return and click through from Cashrewards every time you make a new transaction/purchase.

For tracking success, disable 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, avoid browsers such as Brave, close additional browser tabs, and don't click away to other sites looking for codes etc after clicking from Cashrewards as tracking will be lost. Cashrewards must be your last click before purchase. Use our iOS/Android mobile app for great results. Use our Help Centre & Contact form here for any questions or issues.

International roaming to Tasmania works great

  • Hi team, I was trying to do a purchase on their website via the CR portal, but Boost requires me to provide either AU driver license or AU passport as identity document. But I have none of them.
Was anyone in this situation before? Can I still proceed the process with my own nationality passport?

    • +1

Plenty of details available on the dark web

  • Ordered was holding out till the esim (was going to go with woolworths) but you got me

    Couple questions:

    1. By new customer, does that mean you just can't be a current customer? E.g. I'm currently with Catch Connect but were with Boost prior to catch.
    2. To get the cashback you need to activate within 30 days but bottom of the Boost page says "All data offers are valid for new customers only who activate or first recharge by 28 November 2022". So needs to be activated by 28 November to get the 140GB?
    • I, too, have the same question re "28 November 2022". What if I activate the sim after that date?
The "Critical Information Summary" sends to a broken link 404 (https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0490/0896/7844/files/CIS_2…)

      • +1

        Correct me if it's wrong
        1. New consumer means new email address, not a physocal id
        2. Activate within 30 days to get cashback, say you buy it on 15Nov, to get 40 cashback you will need to activate by 15Dec. However, the plan normally comes with 130gb data, so activate after 28Nov will not get 140gb data instead will be 130gb

        Right? Tightarse

  • Takes ages to get your cashback though like 3 months. I got one from end of Oct won't get claimed til end of Jan. You would be waiting til Feb

    • Hi neonlight. You'd be mistaken. The estimated approval date is just that - an estimate, and different merchants behave differently. All Boost orders up to and including Sept 30 that were activated within 30 days of purchase were all approved in member accounts a week ago. You do the maths :)

      • Hey mate, can we get the issue fixed with Boost as per the latest few comments? Been trying to purchase this but no luck.

  • Amazing deal! But waiting for the $300 one!

  • still waiting for the delivery from last cashreward deal. hopefully they will deliver it before 28 Nov.

  • Looks likes a good deal, but these days im at home most of the time, so im on wifi and so data doesnt matter. I'im on WW $20 (for 12Gb) plan…so the difference between my yearly outlay and this deal is not a lot. I'll easily make that up and more with the once a month 10% off groceries and points accumulation, hell i have $50 off groceries for just banked points sitting there unused now…in just 6 months i think ive already made up (and probably surpassed) the difference

Sometimes i look at these threads and think some people must just love switching for the hell of it…like fomo and they dont think it through…

    • I was also a Boost customer (twice, sadly - though the last stint was very short) and over 2 accounts and 2 years, they could never get my account working properly, no VoLTE/VoWIFI on a flagship phone…..i dunno how many wasted hours i spent on the phone or at a Telstra store
    • So why not the WW 365 days plan but the monthly one? Just curious.

      • At the time i switched it wasnt clear when/if they were going to get VoLTE/VoWIFI, with that due to be completed (migration was due to start on the 7th - already delayed at least twice - blame Telstra who charge premium prices and run a 1930's network powered by hamsters on wheels) by end of year, i probably will buy a 365 recharge….i could care less about 5G…it will just be the usual overpromised, under-delivered and saturated network anyways….and even if i dont swap to a 365 plan, i more than make up the difference in points and 10% a shop every month…

Woolies i have to say have been the best ive dealt with in over a decade, 30 day plans, signed up on their webpage directly to esim, even got activated on a public holiday, when i was expecting to wait 3 more days…long weekend public holiday. Their rep on Whirlpool is about as open about the status of things as can be,

Like i said Boost couldnt manage to get my basic account to work properly over 2 years i was with them (slight detour to Moose who mis-advertised stuff, though graciously let me rotate back out without a cent spent and (later) corrected the flaws).

Boost can go jump as far as im concerned, if id have billed them for the time i spent trying to get them to fix shizz on their end id be a rich man….even Telstra who have access to their back end were like wtf….

  • Thanks op! Ordered a boost sim to replace my wife's Amaysim one. Cheaper for the year and much better coverage.

Considering getting another one to replace my Telstra prepaid, $30 for 28 days, sim. Anyone here swapped to Boost from Telstra prepaid and noticed any difference?

    • Should be no difference in terms of network.

  • Yay good timing to change my number since the recent hacks. Cheers

  • My only concern is if that's enough data for the year…hmm killer deal though

  • Sim must be activated within 30 days ? I have looked up all the details on the agreements and even called Boost and they cant confirm such. On my card it states expiry 2024. From speaking to Boost, activation before 28th Nov is only for for extra 10 gigs.

    • Must be within 30 days to get the $40 cash back!

  • Just to double check, this deal expires on the 15th which means we have the day of the 15th to buy this (ie last day)?

  • Thanks TA as always
perfect time to switch back to Boost after getting the 60000QF points from qantas

  • -1

Still yet to meet anyone who has gotten more than a toaster from Qantas points….people always seem to be collecting them though

I guess some folks will collect anything, just like most things you can collect, you cant be buried with them and they arent transferrable…

Oh and in this case theyre propping up a truly terrible management team who have turned an Aussie icon into trash….

    • +1

Your friends are using their points wrong.

  • Quick question, from my reading here everyone makes it sound like I can just activate this Sim later… Which is fine. But when I click through Cash Rewards and go to the Boost site it asks me for my details, name, current number etc. I didn't see an option to just buy the Sim without activating or registering.
    What am I missing?

    • +1

It asks for details including ID I assume due to the anti-terrorism/know-your-customer laws.
But the starter pack still arrives unactivated with a long expiry (just won’t get the Cashback if you activate it later) so you still need to activate it and provide ID details again and a different person can activate it.

Doesn’t matter if details match a current customer either, I used same details as my current boost details. Planning on porting out for a day, then activating this

  • Do we know if 5G will still be activated for Boost mobile post 28 Nov? I guess the only deal maker for Boost is just that 5G, otherwise I probably would wait for Kogan which normally have sales closer to EOY.

    • No. There's only speculation.

  • Can use to recharge right?

  • Isnt the catch deal a better option?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/735910

  • Trying to purhcase on the CR app but everytime i try, there's an error message saying that "Sorry, something went wrong. We're sorrt but we're experiencing technical issues. Try again later."

  • What happens when the 12 months expires? Can you get another boost 12 month Sim and port the number over to that?

    • I port out for a few days to a month and then back in.

      • Thanks mate. With another service using a cheap sim?

        • Yep, I am on Vodafone $40 plan from that I bought from a supermarket for $15.

I try to time it so I won't need Boost service during that time(regional trips, etc). After Boost, I'll likely go to a half price Vodafone prepaid SIM for 6 months if I can find one on special.

  • Great thanks just signed up!

    • See my comment below - this deal is not eligible for a tax invoice. I’m returning for a refund.

  • Hi, i am planning to buy this deal. I bought the other boost 30 day sim (which gives a small profit with the cashback) which i haven't activated yet. my question is it is possible to have two services with boost under the same name. Obviously the 30 day will be a new service (new number) and i am planning on porting my current amaysim number over to this 12 month boost service. Possible to have 2 services under the same account?

    • Yes. I have multiple family members on boost under my name/account.

      • thanks! i wasn't sure since i've never had 2 services before. Need to activate the 30 day one to actually get the cashback and make profit but also need to buy the 12 month plan since my amaysim one expires now and also get the cashback for that one too

  • Is the port out process with the Optus $2 SIM still the same as last year?
I.e. where you put in the 4242 credit card number until it allows you to activate without recharge?

    • Haven’t done it with Optus before, but read recently that Optus now have instant prepaid E-SIM and a daily $1 plan, so you can port over to that, pay $1 or $2 for a day or two then port back into boost. That’s what I’m planning on doing later this month.

      • @Cucumber123 have you tried this yet?
Planning to do the same in a few days time, is overseas at the moment

        • I haven’t yet - Still have a couple of days left of current recharge.

Planning on porting to Optus tonight and back to Boost tomorrow night. Will let you know how I go

            • +1

@Datatemp: First part was easy enough, although you can’t set up a new account through the app yourself when porting a number into the prepaid e-sim plans, it tells you to do it through the live chat. So it took about an hour of back and forth with the agent.

By the time I woke up this morning, the Optus service was all active and I’ve started the $1/day plan. Credit card is the only payment option.

Back to boost tonight hopefully. Perhaps a $2 physical sim would have been quicker to setup, but I’ve currently only paid $1 for today.

              • @Cucumber123: When you said you can’t setup a new account through the app are you referring to the Optus app?

                • @Datatemp: No probs, and yes I mean the Optus app. When you click through to connect a new service it asks if you want a new number or to port an existing number. If you choose port a number it tells you that you need to do it through the live chat.

            • +1

@Datatemp: Second part was super easy.

Logged in to boost account (might have helped that I still had another active boost service, not sure if you would need to create a new account if you port out your only service) and was done in 5 minutes.

Optus service disappeared from the app 5 minutes later and the boost service was active.

So in the end, paid $1 for the 1 day with Optus

              • @Cucumber123: Thank you heaps for the update.

              • @Cucumber123: Thanks, works for me too, did my porting yesterday, $1 to port in and out, and same as what you went through, the first step does takes awhile to get it done.

  • +1

Guys do not purchase if you need a tax invoice.

Just been informed by customer service rep that “Apologies for that. Tax Invoices for Pre-Paid services will be available within 48 hours after the recharge expiry date. Tax invoices for Pre-Paid Value SIM Kit (eg SIM kits >$2) activations are currently unavailable.

Apologies but we don't have tax invoice available for new sim kits ordered online.”

This deal is not eligible for a tax invoice. It makes no sense, I know. I’m after a refund now.

    • +3

Isn't it a legal requirement they must supply one?

      • You would have thought so aye but apparently they won’t do it until 48h after recharge expiry date, and this is for recharge only. For initial SIM like the deal here ($160 deal) they have said they won’t be providing a tax invoice. I am curious about this now and will investigate if it’s actually a legal requirement for prepaid SIM card to have a tax invoice. Hmmm!

        • +2

When to provide a tax invoice
If a customer asks for a tax invoice, you must provide one within 28 days, unless it is for a sale of $82.50 (including GST) or less.

          https://www.ato.gov.au/business/gst/tax-invoices/

          Another good site..
          https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/C2013C00620/Html/Volu…
          (scroll up slightly)

the supplier must give the consumer a proof of transaction as soon as practicable after the goods or services are so supplied.

^— I reckon they're trying to use the "supplied" as in, the service has ended… but supplied should mean "provided to you" so this would be at the start when they send you the goods

          • @CereaL: Thanks for the good research. Today I have called them again and was informed that they are only able to give me the tax invoice 48 hours after service expiry date (i.e after 365 days). lol I went ahead with the return. They will be sending me the return kit and once received will provide me with the full refund. Oh well! If not for reimbursement I would definitely keep the sim…

            • +2

              @GEE-SHOCK: @boostmobileau
              You're the official rep…
              What's the go?

You must legally provide one with a reasonable time period after providing the service.. as in, providing the SIM card to the user..

              Any comments?

  • +1

2.5 months remaining on my Amaysim, bit the bullet as this is a really good one. Will lose 45 days worth of Amaysim but that is OK I think.

    • My wife’s on a Vodafone annual plan with 6 months left and she’s keen to leave ASAP. Vodafone 5g is worse than Telstra 3g she says.

I am getting a checkout error, anyone else?

  • SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG
    We're sorry but we're experiencing
technical issues. Please try again later.

  • Hi, just to confirm. This deal expires tomorrow, 15th Nov. Do you have to buy this by today or I still can buy tomorrow and get the cashback? Can someone who know please advice? Thank you.

  • Trying to place an order and seems like Boost website got some issues, after entering the payment details and final submit, it gives an error, happened 3 times

  • When using a iPhone it failed multiple times on checkout with the “something went wrong message”. Tried again on a laptop (Windows) and it worked.

  • +1

Keep getting error and won’t process the payment. Tried different CR account on laptop, iPhone and Android with different credit cards. All failed. Such a waste of time!!

    • Same here

  • @tightarse @boostmobileau Can this deal be extended please since we're having trouble actually buying it?

  • Anyone’s order go through successfully but never received a confirmation email? Got the Cashrewards tracking email but nothing from boost.

    • +1

I received the confirmation email from boost within a few minutes of purchase but have yet to receive the Cashrewards tracking email. I bought this yesterday.

  • @tightarse how long will the SIM delivery take? I'm in Melbourne western suburb

    • +1

To those subscribed to this post, there's a chance we can lift cashback by a further 2 to 3 dollars prior to the $160 promo ending at midnight tonight. We're trying to get signoff from Boost as we speak. Details will be on Boost's landing page on Cashrewards. Hopefully something soon. Cheers!

    • +1

Does that mean exisiting users will be upped too? *Fingers crossed#

    • +2

OK, $43 cashback now live for the final hours of the $160 promo. Ends 11:59pm AEDT. Enjoy :)

      https://www.cashrewards.com.au/boost-mobile?coupon=140gb-12-…

      • When click buy the sim, the price is $200 in Check out, is something wrong with boost?

        • This is what I see (here & here). When you get to the second page, try doing a refresh. You'll then need to generate a new click from CR in case you lose tracking due to the refresh.

    • Would the issue with not being able to place an order fixed as well?

I might have tried more than 10 times over different devices and received the error everytime.

      • Hi. Unfortunately that is an issue on Boost's side. I believe it may have something to do with buying too many SIMs (but I can't confirm). Sorry!

      • I can see the price is $160 here

  • Thanks TA, $43 pushed me over the line.
    Just purchased.

    Tracked instantly through ios app.

I’ll be selfish, please don’t do too much more on Black Friday. I don’t need two 12 month sims.

  • Just noticed Boost charged me $200 :/

  • Mine came in the mail today.

  • Still waiting for mine, no tracking email either

  • Mine arrived in the mail on Wednesday - was just in my letterbox in a registered post envelope.

No we've shipped your SIM card email or anything like that.

  • Can anyone tell me how long I need to/should wait between porting away from Boost and porting back in?

    • +1

Go on live chat and ask them to apply it…

There's heaps of post's where people have said that they have done that

      • Thanks CereaL, but I already ported out.
No reason I couldn't port back in already I guess, I just wanted to know if anyone had any insight. Thanks

  • Began the port from Catch Connect to Boost @01.30

    Fingers crossed for no issues

    • Done by 7.30am

      Speed test 330/17.3

  • Anyone having issues with Cashrewards tracking? Purchased through Cashrewards website, no adblockers enabled, yet still not tracked. Having to submit a manual claim now.

    • Yeah, not tracked for me. Had to submit a manual claim today. Did you get a response?

      • I received an email stating:
"Our team has submitted an enquiry with Boost Mobile in relation to your cashback and in the meantime I have added this transaction into your Cashrewards account as pending."

        It's still pending currently.

        • On the My Rewards page, if I click on enquire next to the pending approvals, it says the ETA is Feb 23

  • My sim stuck in the facility at Northgate QLD from 16/11. Called Auspost and they couldn't do anything about that. Auspost is so useless lol
