      eBay have been notorious for continuing to bill people despite cancelling. The only reliable way was to use PayPal, then remove the billing agreement from there. However it appears PayPal is no longer a payment option as of very recently. In addition, eBay have been cancelling memberships a couple of weeks in, claiming they didn't receive payment. In fact they received payment, then don't respond to request to refund, and only when a PayPal claim is escalated will PayPal decide in your favour with the lack of response and failure to deliver service paid for. Feel like getting ripped off from the outset before even shopping online.
      So recommend using a one time use generated virtual card.

        Unfortunately I tried using a card and it was accepted then 2 minutes later declined. Then when I tried a different card I couldn't get the $4.99 or $20 anymore because "I had already used it".

        Yup, happened to me and had to dispute with my bank. Sadly it was 3 years before I noticed and my bank would only reverse the latest charge.
        Lesson learnt not to trust eBay ever, terrible systems and terrible support.

        The problem is when you cancel the subscription early, eBay will reinstate it later. So you need to be vigilant and check on the subscription to make sure it stays cancelled! Ideally cancelling it one to two days before it expires is best. Keep a record of cancellation notice as proof. Tell me your thoughts on this.

        Got a whole year to cancel before worrying about it, as long as before the next billing date. It's one or two clicks, and usually get offered $30 to stay.

        Ps. $20 is getting a bit stingy, used to be $49, then $40, even $30 be alright these days.
        I renewed when Shopback had $40 cashback, only ever out of pocket 9-10$.

            @chyawala: Yeah I've never had that experience but everyone goes on about it. You'd just have to block it at your bank or make sure no funds when they go to take it out I guess

        I'm not sure it is targeted. As Pakkapie said, everything said $49pa until I went to "Join now" in the green banner and it said $4.99. Also they don't take Amex. They're lowering their standards to my local "everything out of date" milk bar…

        I tried to cancel the automatic renewal and it offered me another $30 gift card. It says if I paid for the membership then I will receive the gc within 10 days. I have a receipt for $0.00 so guess I'll take the $30 gc also.

        This is what ebay plus should cost -$50.

      Never using my debit card on ebay again, got double charged for ebayplus before and support simply lie about a refund that never comes. Dealing with a bank for a charge back is time consuming and takes long. With PayPal could of got a refund very quickly

    This worked for both the $4.99 for a year AND the $20 voucher.

    I hadn't seen the original $4.99 annual offer on my ebay - despite buying multiple things this week already)
    and I hadn't bothered considering the $20 voucher because I wasn't willing to spend $49 on ebay plus.

    So without your post I would have missed both!

    I had Ebay plus and was not getting the coupon codes in my summary after I renewed it. I opened over 10 tickets with support and the issue was never fixed for over 8 months. I then asked for a refund and they claimed there was no issue. It was insane. I refused to renew it. I notice now that I have finally cancelled Plus that I am getting coupon codes in my summary again. The savings difference between plus and a regular membership is not worth it. Especially when the customer service is absolute garbage. I found myself wishing I was in an old school cartoon so I could punch them in the head through the telephone.

    Just signed up. The main link was dead, but the signup link in the T&Cs still works.

    Depending on your account eligibility, you may see $0, $4.99, $49 for annual fee and the monthly fee option is removed here (which is a sign that you have reached the right place).

    If the $80 voucher and $15 cashback come through later, it is definitely a best eBay deal ever.

        Yes, TA's link was dead. Follow the signup link that worked for me this morning.

        The generic signup link has monthly fee option, which is sign that you have reached the wrong place.
