Does the foam dispenser have a control for the amount of soap it dispenses?

    • +1

      It has different setting

    • nope

    • nope

    • sope

I've used one of these for 3 years and bought two more recently.

The first foam dispenser I got is still working great. Just swap out the AA batteries 2-3 times a year. Refill the soap 4-5 times a year.
To refill the soap, just get a screwdriver or any flat/wedge thing and just pop off the top. Make sure to wedge around where the top is thicker, not the thin bit, otherwise you'll rip/crack the plastic. I've refilled my soap dispenser over 10+ times by now and still going strong.

The two new ones I got about a year ago. They seem to be made by a different company (says "simpleways" on it) even though still branded as Xiaomi. These ones didn't dispense soap well, it sounded like the motor was struggling or something. But after finishing the soap and refilling with new soap, it worked fine. So it must've just been a lower quality soap liquid that it comes with? Like it's too thick for the dispenser possibly?

For $15, would recommend. In my case, it was much easier for my toddler to wash her hands with this, as opposed to pushing down the pump on normal dispensers.

      • what refill do you use?

        • +2

Just those Palmolive self foaming refills.
Or I make my own. 25% hand soap (normal thick kind) and 75% water (add the water slowly so it doesn't foam up)

    • Been using generic AliExpress one for 3 months now. Charged once at the start. Has setting to control the dispense also to refill simply unscrew and refill. No need for screw driver. Inbuilt battery too. $20

      • Can you share link ?

        • +2

Can’t share the link here due to website algorithm.

        • Click on the ozb thread link just below Kalol's comment, it'll have the Aliexpress link to the dispenser. I've bought 2 of them recently, pretty darn good but battery would run out 'faster' than the xiaomi one's (4AAs vs idk what capacity it was) , but yea it's a good experience for roughly $20 a pop

Arrived in a week to metro melb after I ordered

    • +4

Underrated content everyone needs to read this

    • +2

FWIW I use NiMH AAs and they last months and I haven't had any corrosion problems since 2019.

      • +1

same, ive had mine for 3+ years and no issues. got it on aliexpress though

        • I use Eneloops and they last a few months. I've tried USB rechargeable soap dispensers and battery life has been terrible.

  • Shit. Just bought this at this deal two weeks ago for $22. No battery in the box.

    • Share your review? Is their particular type of hand wash you need to fill in?

      • I bought two before. They are white in colour. Sometimes it works strangely. Like big noise comes out from the motor, bubbles comes out a few times without reason, light flashing showing no power, on and off then back to normal.

This one is pink in colour. Looks a bit old to me. No battery packed inside. The other two I bought before comes with 4AA batteries. Date of manufacture is a few years ago, a bit old. Don't need special soup liquid to fill in. However, it is not supposed to be refillable! You need to forcefully open the cap with a screw driver if you want to refill in. You need to change the whole bottle when it is empty.

        • Pink and not supposed to be refillable? WTH

$479 9/11/2022 Pet Marvel Smart Self Cleaning Cat Litter Box + Bonus Bag of Cat Litter

    Pet better be sh%tting gold…

    • +1

Looks like a tumble dryer for cats…

      • +1

yes and it cost about the same as a big tumble dryer.

  • +2

What soap do you use with this?

    • +3

I use and recommend Palmolive foaming liquid handwash 1L refill, Japanese Cherry Blosssom.

  • +2

Hope you’re getting better @Clear. I wonder everyday.

    • +10

Improved significantly. Had to make massive sacrifices to be here though :(

      • +5

It is always good to have you around Clear. A significant contributor here. Keep tracking well! We are all behind you!

        • +2

The sad part is someone had to downvote you. It's an easy guess who 😅

      • Had to make massive sacrifices to be here though :(

        OzB is LYFE!

      • What illness?

        • +2

Stage 4 cancer. Important thing is I'm completely cured which is a rare thing to hear.

          • @Clear: If you don't mind answering some more questions…..
It is good to learn these things….

what was the initial cancer type and when were you diagnosed?
what symptoms were you experiencing prior?
do you know if it's genetics related ie family history or do you think it is more to do with your lifestyle.

Good to know you are all cleared.

            • @pinkybrain: Extremely rare kind of upper GI cancer that mostly exists in research journals only. No symptoms, nothing to do with lifestyle and the cause is unknown. There is a gene that's linked but I don't have it.

  • +1

Can vouch for the pet litter, has drastically reduced smell

    • +3

      Hasn't started yet. 28th.

    • +1

Deal will begin on the 28th for the light bar

  • Anyone have experience to share about the lightbar?

    • +2

I bought one 2 years ago. Still using it every day for productivity and gaming. I think it's worth every penny, especially at this price.

      • Any experience on how to set it up and how it operates with dual monitor screens where the primary monitor has a mounted webcam and the secondary monitor is available for mounting the lightbar?

        • +1

It’s a plug-and-play light bar, so I’m pretty sure you will have no hassle setting it up. Just connect it to your PC through USB and you’re good to go. You can control the light through its wireless controller.

I’m mounting it on my primary monitor with a webcam because it somehow makes my eyes much less fatigued when working and reading a long session with the primary monitor. (It depends on you where you wanna mount it to make you feel comfortable.)

          • @plank89: Do you know the angle / area of light cover the light bar covers in terms of disbursing light

            • +1

@A female dog: The maximum angle that the bar can reach is approx. 70 degrees from the surface of the monitor. My desk is 1400x800, and it's enough to read books, write papers, and play games without issues. If you have a larger desk or working area, you may need an additional light source.

  • +3

God damn it man. I just hadddddd to Google what the point of a monitor light bar is and now I must purchase one!

    • On second thoughts anyone with a Dell S2721DGF use one of these? Does the clip overlap onto the screen?

      • Did you figure this out? I have the same monitor

        • Sadly not, there's a couple people on OzB that bought it though, and one possible post on reddit who mentioned adding some felt, but not too sure. I think I'll just buy it and see what's what!

  • The soap dispenser drain batteries so fast.

    • Define fast?

      • +1

Use eneloops and it will last around 2 to 3 months at least

  • When do these go on sale. Tomorrow or 23rd?

    • It's in the deal for all of them

  • Monitor Light Bar - 3 available… nice work!

FYI: Electric scooters are illegal in NSW unless on private property.

    • +3

Sucks to be in a backwards state.

      • +5

In a democracy every electorate is given the government it deserves, and the current state of affairs is what NSW deserves for 12 years of Liberal government.
They've taken $8b of debt and turned it into almost $200b if you include the debt in their illegal rail corp company. This is despite selling off everything not nailed down for pennies on the dollar, including the electricity grid and Newcastle Port (also sold to China), plus the most petulant nanny-state laws trying to make anything someone under 65 might find enjoyable illegal.
At least we only need suffer another 4 months of this awful governance.

        • -1

Tassie legalised escooters under a Liberal government. Perhaps because they're all from the moderate faction who don't align with Canberra?

          • +1

@Clear: NSW has the worst people in Australia and consequentially the worst politicians. The LNP in states like Tassie and South Australia are forced to be more competent or else they'd be unelectable.

        • +1

You are so close. All the above is true. Only issue is you imply the Labor is better - reality is, they are both the same party. Heck, Scomo brought in Labor's Net Zero policy. And Labor is right wing, pro war, pro censorship. They will sell you out just the same.

          • @Charity: The ALP are not fantastic by any means and also extremely neoliberal, but nearly all the "good" policies the Australian government has made over the past 50 years have been by a Labor government - they're also much less corrupt and nowhere near as influenced by corporate donations.
However, as I said before: In a democracy every electorate is given the government it deserves, which prohibits Australia from ever being given a good government.

    • +4

Well this deal has taken a sharp turn from the normal eBay Price Jacking comments!

  • Any ozbargainer reviews of the scooter?

    • +2

I bought this a few months back.
Pretty good for my purposes!! Which is essentially to get from my apartment in Southbank, into the city for gym or whatever else I need to get done.
Folds up nicely to be pretty compact (even fit into the gym locker)
But you get what you pay for - it is small, which means you cant ride over any ledges. It also has 0 suspension which means you will feel every bump under your feet. Thankfully for the route I was travelling there were minimal bumps.
Speed wise I was quite impressed that it can manage to get up to 20km/h like it's other larger counterparts, albeit might take a little longer - it definitely wouldnt be able to tackle the very steep inclines in Melb CBD - but again, I generally did not need to travel this way.

All in all this is a good deal. I bought mine for 500.

      • i heard the range is only around 6km-ish. is that right?

        • Hmmm I'm planning to buy it hope it'll work for me

      • No suspension sounds like it could potentially be an issue but I'm really hoping it's good enough to ride from one or the other of teo train station to hone

  • May get soap if break allows it

  • +1

That scooter deal is pretty nice ngl.
